4 great games w/ Donny & me this morning. 3 OT's, the last one ending in a tie. Game 1, he knocked out Hull in 2nd period. I score a goal w/ 3 secs left to send it into OT, and Donny prevails on an Esa break away, 3-2. Game 2, he knocks out Hull in the 1st period. I pull out the OT winner this time, winning 3-2. Game 3, Hull goes hully, stays upright the whole game avoiding Donny's goons, and scores 5, and I win 5-2. Game 4, Defense prevails, a 1-1 tie game, including an overtime dominated by great goal tending on Donny's end, stopping Hull, not 1, not 2, but three times on break aways, to preserve the 1-1 tie. That's quite a series. Donny had 5 shots, 8 shots, 9 shots & 5 shots in those games, so he did a great job of making them count, as my goons made it difficult to carry the puck close to the net. Great games Donny. I really enjoyed that series. Good luck the rest of your way. Hull is going to need to change his last letter in his name from a L to a K, and get all green mad on Minny if he wants to grab a scoring title after getting knocked out 3 times in the last 7 I've played (Chaos popped his head off too!) He needs 10 goals in 4 games IF I can find the Minny man to play them. Also, IF Fitzo gets his 44 games in or at least 35 games at his pace, he probably takes the goal's title, leaving Dino, Hull or Bure fighting over silver & bronze scraps.

That crappy night Probob swept me 4 games is really starting to haunt me right now. After 40 games played, Sicarius leads the league w/ 53 points. Congrats on a strong season to date. Probob & I are both at 36 games played. I'm sitting w/ 51 points & he's at 50.5. I've got Minny & Donny left and he's got Minny & Chaos. Donny has the highest wining percentage of the guys with lower games played, so he still has a chance to end up w/ more points as well, and Minny or Fritzo would need a crazy undefeated type run, but 50 plus points is NOT out of reach. They would need of course to play their games SO, come on Donny. I've been searching all the cracks I know to find ya. Had 2 in TDL (turned into DNP's), got 4 here & now 3 in Classic. I'll be on tonight after 10:30 pm Central, and probably late Friday night (around 11-12 pm type thing). I got a fever, and the only cure is more Donny-bell.

Raph, catch you on that. Not pointing a finger in a bad way. But Robby eludes to Plabax killing off the new blood. It was the cancelling (understandably so) of Spring that cancels the new sign ups for that period. Again, not a fan of Plabax, but I don't think pointing fingers at him for issues that aren't his helps anything.

Not a fan of Plabax, and don't believe he should be in a league he quit, and you don't really need to chase the "bad" apple to have a "true" champion, because he can't make it a full season drama free. To me, I look at HOW long A takes to get their playoffs in, or how long between start of season and actual "start" of being able to play your games as the biggest faults. It ruins the fun to not finish a season & shortly after crown a champ. It ruins a draft to not play right away. So, the mentality of allowing non-forfeit playoffs to make sure you get the "right" champion, or the idea you need to have a great looking site before you can play the league type things. No league is fun w/ those delays, and I think those A guys found other entertainment in the mean time. I could be wrong.

I think if you look at the progress that NHL14 & NHL15 have made in their game, it's the "quiet" reason things have slowed down. There was a solid pack of guys that were playing video games & being in college type thing as well. Those type of gamers don't always stay "gamers", as job/family start to pull away those hours of availability. To me, a small set of A guys did definitely seem to have a negative impact. To what extent that lead to A leagues going dormant, I couldn't speculate. You'd have to actually ask those no shows why they signed up & didn't play. I mean, you've been on a site for years, sign up for a league, and then don't play the games when it's time. I mentally have a hard time blaming SWOS, Frey, BOK, Zalex, Houly, dicon & Co lack of gaming on Plabax. The new blood has been fairly steady, but the lack of outlets for it w/ Classic Spring getting cancelled to me last year was the biggest loss to that "site growth", and the league was cancelled because A wasn't getting played, imo.

Speaking of minny... Need him, Chaos & Donny to complete the set. Be around late tonight & late Sunday & late Monday. If you need earlier, try to find me on Wednesday. I'd like to finish my Blitz games before Classic starts.

Blitz has some subtle changes to it from Classic, that can take a minute to get used to, and vice versa. The goalie is the biggest. Switching time is shorter & they are beefed up, minus Roy & Eddy. The weight bug fix also means the game is slightly slower since the rink is filled w/ heavier guys. Your team looks solid, Iafrate, Chelios, Hawerchuk, Oates & Brindamour. Soderstrom has one of the lowest Save %'s (predictably so), but he's at .674%. If he were at league norm of .699%, you'd have a GA of 4.35 instead of 4.63. This would be better but still in the bottom of the league for GAA, so I wouldn't highlight it as the "cause". So, you probably need to cut down on the 1-2 ratio of shots taken vs shots given up to start. I think that comes from not having one big piece like Hull style slapper or a Courtnall speed type to run around, and not feeling comfortable w/ your team. That's a pass-pass-pass & pass some more style team that Minpind would cream over!

I've definitely noticed against the higher levels when they have a shut out going against me I get their "uber" defense, especially in the 3rd period! Being offensively challenged to begin with, this usually ends in frustration for me

I don't think Raph is acting solo here. Plabax made it seem like he was. Plabax got banned from other leagues without Raph, and got banned from the forum on his own as well. So, let's stop making this Raph vs Plabax. If you do think this, in my opinion, you are holding some obvious previous condition against Raph. I mean, the kid quit Classic last year in the middle of a game w/ me like a total a-hole. He then spent 2 months bashing the league after that as stupid. I've never gotten an apology from the kid. He just got kicked out the last league he was in. If the Classic was running some title like, TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS, I could see needing to include Plabax. Plabax is one of the best players in the game. He is better than me. I get that. But, he's not so great you can't "not" have him in or it nullifies the winner's credibility. It's a league that struggled to get all it's game played and didn't even do Spring as a result. Clearly, one of the guys who quit last year is not needed to be included for this league to be successful.

It's rare that I have the chance to bury someone, so I usually don't stop pressing unless I see that they are now trying to slow the game down, but I definitely would not want a guy to stop burying me. My goal would be to figure it out at some point and stop the guy for the next time. That said, some times, the "bounces" all seem to go against you, and if you had a good defensive season going, it just sucks to get buried 12-1!

I was surprised to see Plabax sign up after quitting last time shortly after losing to me and basically quitting in the middle of the game. After months of taunting how stupid & pointless & worthless Classic was, and the game is "gay" because it prevented him from breaking the records and that's why he quit, I'm stunned to see him lobbying to play again. Coming up w/ some loony theory about Raph & needing someone else to POST your message because you are also banned only further highlights the real issue. You are a straight up assh&le, kid or no kid. That's why you aren't playing. I haven't even asked anyone if this is true or not. I certainly don't give creedence to your Raph hatred/theories, and Tomkabs, I know you guys are friends and all, but it's a wasted post, other than some reading fodder, imo.

I'm signed in b cause it's void of the drama queens & I'm probably more casual in my nhl94 approach & find I'm more B+ material most nights than A-, but if you queens cant get enough suspects in A, I'd switch to help fill out the bottom of your standings & in at least I'm a solid play not prone to heavy stat killing blow outs. That's in gens of course. Snes is strictly a no queens league, so I'm all good there (especially if Kashmir stays in B!).

So, do we use V2 now & have to replay games previously played, or are those ones OK, and just use V2, or IF we use V2 for the game, do we need to wait before we load the game state? I haven't played any, but figure I'd ask for those who have, and planned on playing tonight possibly.

I can't find Irvin the forum. Perhaps it was on aim then. But it's a question we should know the answer to. Maybe Frey can settle it as commish of the dormant league. In theory,, if we were to ever play this season out that we drafted over 2 months ago, are we using smoz's latest updated blitz rom that also fixes the c/b weight bug loophole? I think we should settle that at least.

And as a guy who grew up playing w/ penalties off, the B check is a weird thing to me, but I've adapted more of late. It goes off puck control, but it has a limited range, and if it misses, does leave your opponent switching to different defenders in a game that doesn't switch so friendly back & forth. I usually gladly play in any league, including SNES, that does a season w/ the penalties off. I don't compare the two "bugs", although I see Raph's points.

Mentally, playing against the CB bug in Blitz is mentally demoralizing and it's why I requested SMOZ to look into it way back when. You draft fat farts to take hits and someone else drafts fast guys giving up the check skill & the ability to take a hit in exchange for the speed he gains. Then, you play that guy, and suddenly, your not only slower, but getting the sh&t knocked out of you as well. 1000% opposite of all other exploits. In Classic, the guy is at least the slow guy who is C checking to you & knocking you down, so the CB is not such a disdain.

I don't understand dropping out as I thought it was agreed that the final Blitz ROM (if it were to ever exist) was presumed to include SMOZ's CB Bug Fix. And you can't quit something that doesn't exist, technically, you can quit the idea
