  1. Not seen Hokkee around for ages! I'm guessin that when Blitz didn't start on time last month he rage destroyed his computer by nominating it for the ice bucket challenge & thus hasn't been able to connect AIM since
  2. Any updates? End of the day we're all grateful to the guys putting this together, but an occassional update wouyld be good so we all know where we are. Thanks
  3. I told Plabax the other week i'd like Smehlik LD, Richardson RD, Sundin LW, Dino C Hopefully that can get changed too. Save me doin it b4 every game :-)
  4. OK Smoz. Any thoughts? Had the same trouble again today. The only way of putting it right apparently is to unassign the port forwarding in the router & then reassign. I've no idea what the origin might be
  5. Yeah, I don't understand why but that was definitely the problem. I deactivated & reactivated it first but it didn't help. It was only resolved by deleting it in the router & then setting it up all over again
  6. Basically I deleted all the gens & netplaysaves except one from the firewall (there were loads I guess since it produced a new one each time I downloaded a new gens). Then I deleted the port forwarding from the router. I then set up port forwarding again & made sure that netplaysave was allowed thru the firewall. All seems good
  7. Just an FYI for anyone who uses port forwardin who mite find themselves in this situation, I had to access the router & delete everything i'd previously set up, & then set it up again from scratch. I guess it had associated itself with the previous version of Gens, as suggested. Thanks for the assistance guys. As I now know to just delete the cfg file to reset Gens hopefully it wont be an issue again
  8. Why whenever I try to open the preseason rom does it just revert to the v10 rom? Is that because its exactly the same? If so the changes to my starting line I asked Plabax for the other week haven't been done
  9. I have disactivated, then reactivated the port forwarding in the router, which I hope will associate it with the new gens program/file. Just need someone to test it with!
  10. I set up port forwarding. Everything is right in terms of the router. I also clicked to allow gensnetplaysave through the firewall for domestic, work & public networks. Everything was fine. Was playing via direct connect for a couple of weeks vs various players. Since I redownloaded the gens package no one can direct connect to me. I have no idea what has changed since putting a new gens netplaysave on my machine, but that seems to have been the moment that direct connect stopped working. I have no idea so just wondering if anyone with the knowledge can think of anything?
  11. Advice from the computer savvy people please: The other week Donnybrook helped me set up port forwarding on my router. I then set the firewall to allow gens through & everything worked fine. Played a number of games against several different players. The other day Gens had a fit. Every now & then it won't open roms. Just plays the music but no picture. Only way i've found to rectify the problem is to download the "Gens complete" pack again off the website. Well since I did that no one can direct connect to me like before. The only thing I can think of is that I haven't set up the specific protocol on the firewall to allow communications through port 27886 (Or whatever it is) but I didn't do that before & it worked fine until the Gens reinstall. Any ideas?
  12. any news on when the rom will be ready & a possible start date?
  13. Sensible soccer is indeed the 94 of footy games & the european community is massive. They even meet up to have regular live tournaments in different countries (like many in this community say would not work) I believe. So glad to hear they have custom roms too. I would love to get into it, but just don't have the time for more online gaming. When I was a kid Sensi & 94 were the games of choice for me & my mates. Endless leagues all the time. Just brilliant. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the control system or basic graphics. This game has real substance just like 94. Many ways to play tactically unlike most sports games where therw's a set style you need to master to have success. Legendary game. If I have more time in the future i'll definitely sign up
  14. Hey we've all cheated on our wives........but don't you ever accuse me of cheating 94. Thats just stepping over the line
  15. I wasn't too far different in most cases really :-)
  16. Give him his Y button for gods sake! I agree with his comment: Blitz should have all the fixes, mods & improvements. Should be the league that uses the "perfect" version of the rom
  17. Hey, Here's how I see the strength of the relative rosters. Just my opinion on the players, not taking into consideration the coaches involved. Someone else who knows all the coaches current levels better than me can take a punt on B league odds. I actually think this could be the most exciting B league ever, for 2 reasons: 1) The lack of a clear "A" league player as there has been in previous seasons, meaning a number of guys will think this could be their year, and 2) The amount of the roms biggest stars in this season's B league. There is a huge number of seemingly stacked rosters here, which is going to mean again, every guy has a jewel capable of winning any game with a little magic. 1) COLORADO (Jack & Jose) Probable starting line: Bondra, Mario Lemieux, Linden, Duchesne, Weinrich, Vernon. Most balanced lineup in this season's rom? Magic of Mario nicely supplied by Bondra's pace & Linden's all round game 2) PHILADELPHIA (Skeletor) Probable startting line: Carson, Mogilny, Dineen, Smith Chiasson, Puppa. Arguably the best offence in the rom with goals galore from Mogilny & Carson. Could be an unstoppable partnership. Smith & Chiasson will dominate on D. Will the goalie be the achilles heel? 3) ST. LOUIS (Brutus) Probable starting line: Bellows, Hull, Emerson, Hatcher, McSorley, Vanbiesbrk. No idea how you get so lucky to draft Hull, Hatcher & McSorley onto the same roster! The best D in the rom maybe, & Hull's skating, weight & of course that monster shot makes this a contender for the B leagues #1 team. A goalie who's solid enough, but is definitely on the wrong side of the "good goalies" line 4) EDMONTON (Minpind) Probable starting line: Ridley, Messier, Stevens, Johansson, Tatarinov, Joseph. Monstrous team with 2 of the most physically dominant forwards in the rom, accompanied by Ridley's good skills & weight. A top class goalie means this team is superb in all areas, although speed & a genuine regular scorer could be concerns (Although not for me) 5) TAMPA BAY (Sicarius) Probable starting line: LaFontaine, Neely, Reichel, Manson, Diduck, McLean. Another brilliantly rounded roster, with Neely dominating on both sides of the puck to score & assist two superb wingers in LaFont & Reichel. Neely is my bet for top assister in this season's B league. Manson's huge shot will chip in, in addition to forming a formidable D partnership with Diduck & the goalie is more than good enough. 6) PHOENIX (Probob) Probable starting line: Shanahan, Bure, Ricci, Numminem, Tinordi, Roy. Don't be fooled at this team's 6th place. That's only because of the amount of superstars in this season's B league. Bure can win any game solo, but with Shanhan's weight & superb sniping, plus Ricci's goals & all round game this is another contender for the best forward line in the league. Numminem & Tinordi provoke questions, but having played Probob I know this team's D is no issue at all, especially with the game's best goalie in between the sticks! Awesome job drafting this season Probob! 7) TORONTO (Jer33) Probable starting line: Gilmour, Selanne, Poulin, Brown, Lidster, Potvin. I can't believe I put this roster #7! Just shows the strength of this season's B league. Selannne & GGilmour form yet another star offensive line with Poulin providing some defensive balance in support. Brown & Lidster look a weakness without the puck, but Potvin is another star between the pipes. Weight could be their downfall, but this looks a gorgeous attacking team 8) SAN JOSE (Fitzo) Probable starting line: Nemchinov, Sandstrom, Russ Courtnall, Suter, Murphy, Hasek. Sandstrom & Russ will be a ridiculous partnership, full of goals, & Murphy & Suter will add to the attacking threat as well as keep it tight on D. Goalie has to be a major worry though? 9) BOSTON (Donnybrook) Probable starting line: Ronning, Turgeon, Tikkanen, Schneider, Hawgood, Blue. Yet again another roster that many will argue has the best forward line in the league. Simply awesome. Weight, speed, goalscoring. Has it all. Looks a real top heavy roster though. A weak looking D, and having used Blue in Blitz 06 I can say he's a usable goalie but can be a liability at times. Donnybrook's games will be shoot outs, but with the attacking talent he could win them all 10-9! 10) DETROIT (Gretzkyonacold) Probable starting line: Sundin, Ciccarelli, Clark, Smehlik, Richardson, Barrasso. Nicely balanced team with 3 brilliant shooters on offence, and two big, if unspectacular Dmen protecting a top goalie. Offensive weight a definite issue here though, & physical games could be a huge problem 11) PITTSBURGH (Labs66) Probable starting line: Oates, BrindAmour, Hawerchuk, Chelios, Iafrate, Soderstrom. Yet another B league roster with several stars. The offence looks good without carrying the same threat as other teams, but still has enough to score on anyone. The D partnership looks fantastic & will score & assist as well as be dependable to protect a very good goalie. Another balanced & attractive attacking team. 12) CALGARY (Chaos) Probable starting line: Zhamnov, Robitaille, Khristich, Zalapski, Ulf Samuelsson, Richter. This is just ridiculous that i've made this the #12 team. It's really nice, but Chaos' success in reaching the 08 B finals limited his ability to draft the big names in this draft. It's still a strong team though & in any other Blitz season would be right up there. One of the best defences in the B league, with another solid goalie who won't win too many games but won't lose many either. This team won't be easy to beat. The offence has 3 silky forwards but who might all be more the playmaker than the goalscorer. Without the puck they don't offer much help onn D, but they all suit Chaos' style though. Again, don't be fooled by the #12 ranking, this team could easily take Chaos to another B finals! So there you have it. B league is too close to call this season because the quality of every team is ridiculous. I seriously don't know who will end up champ. You really can't call a favourite right now IMO. Would be interested to see how King's rating system ranks these teams
  18. Any chance of Raph using his formula to rate the B league teams?
  19. Shud defo b fixed for all leagues. Pass shot is a skill that adds to the game. This is a bug that takes away plain & simple
  20. V10 updated with the Russ/Sundin trade Blitz_09_testrom_v10.bin
  21. My lines have been updated following the Mats Sundin/Russ trade with Fitzo
  22. To Fitzo (Quebec) Russ Courtnall To Gretzkyonacold (Detroit) Mats Sundin Fitzo is fast asleep in Scandanavia right now, but I think everyone knows he wanted to do this trade, so please can we confirm it before the deadline. Thanks
  23. Last day of trades guys. I have the following players available for trade: Russ Courtnall (5/6 skating, 4/3 shot): Looking to substitute his speed for more of a sniper, preferably with 8 weight or above. Have a deal lined up but wanna see if I can get a heavier guy first Dino Ciccarelli (5/4 skating, 5/5 shot): Another possibility if someone wants to offer a heavy goalscorer of similar standard Tom Barrasso (5 agility, 4/4 stick, 5/5 golves): Will take a downgrade on goalie to improve D or offence Let me know if any of these players is what you're looking for
  24. DETROIT SUMMER SALE! EVERYTHING MUST GO!! DON'T MISS OUT!!! ENDS FRIDAY!!!! OK, think I have a trade lined up for Russ Courtnall, but i'll listen to offers for him, Dino, Wendel Clark or Tom Barrasso Let me know if you're interested
