Hello All, Well after completing a EIHL rom and blacking out more than 60% of the teams and trying to figure out season playthroughs to see how to eliminate non-playing teams. @MonkeyHead @LaTormenta@EagleXIII made a suggestion to use the rom Eliteseries95 since it is setup for 12 teams only (+2 all-stars). While finding the schedule from @Asher413 locations from the post of Divisions/Schedules. I started looking for the banners, calendar, logos and center ice. I stumbled across some interesting points. The NHL team center ices are actually in the rom starting at the 15th team...New York Rangers and onto the Winnipeg Jets. Given that and the massive amount of empty bytes at the end of the rom. There might be keys in this rom to expand and reduce the NHL95 base rom or @kingraph 34 team rom. This might allows to expand the season mode to 32 teams as they don't use standings part. Only the rankings for stats which gives you their points anyways. Since removing that part, expanding the total teams in a season seems very possible. There are a few things I believe that needs to be adjusted before that could even begin.

Well...well...well. Eliteseries 95 is the new rom that Ill play with. I will only use the Legends teams for the all-stars since and the 11th, and 12th teams in season mode, will not make the playoffs anyway since it is setup only to take the top 8 teams. So, they would always be removed. Also, in doing so opens 86 extra bytes to expand the total games from 43 to 54 for the remaining 10 teams. In addition, the verbiage can be modified as well. This seems like a gem for use to use moving forward.

No worries. One thing to watch for is that in NOSE '95 mirrors goaltender catching hands - no idea why. If you copy one from 95 to 94, you might need to switch handedness back.

I know why! NOSE has a config file of sorts that tells it what version of EA game it is reading. To read and edit 95, @UltraMagnus had to tweak this file. He uploaded it around here somewhere for me, possibly in the CHL ROM thread.

I inputted directly into NOSE, sorry. You can cut and paste player data from one instance of NOSE to another, including a nifty option to only copy attributes - might be useful? You can do this for entire rosters at once, too. Batch will be a good honest player for you - works hard at both ends, good physical game. Needs to be paired with a good stay at home D partner (Louis and Richardson were good matches with him) to allow him to roam a little. Likes to drop the gloves, too. I was amazed you traded away first pick. After the Steelers stiched up Kirk, Bowns was always gonna go first. Reading into this, you guys are having Ginn back, aren't you?

I noticed that the music in Elitserien 95 is much slower than NHL '95 due to being a PAL/50hz game. Is this slowdown evident in the gameplay also? And if it is, does playing it at NTSC/60hz speed things up to the point it affects the physics like the NHL Hockey/EA Hockey region difference does?

Hi there Halifax just read your post, my name is Buz Eldredge: '94 is the best game ever... in fact, it's the only game. I play by myself for entertainment, and I have played so many games since '94 I can't count them all. Just thought I'd say this little bit to add it to the legends of '94. It is more fun to play alone if you shy away from competition because you stink. If you never win - well it drives you crazy! So I play competively in the family, but mostly that entails teammates which is also great fun. The reason playing alone can still be so much fun is that sooo many funny things can happen while playing the game. Mysterious disappearances of players, glitches in the programming, losing your star while skating with the puck, the goaltender going through the net, and even the point blank shots with the goalie down that fly up into the second tier of seats inexplicably still make me laugh out loud. I believe Evan has documented many if not all of these things already, but I need to re-iterate how much fun this game is. That's all for now, I love this game!

They very much do. I played a few games and its actually identical. I think they just took NHL95 created the Eliteseries and left some of the reminisces of NHL95 in the code. Even, the wording in the code has things like "NHL Standings" in it.

Cant believe that I didn't realize that - I even posted in the Elitserien thread asking if it was ok to use his translation as a base for an EIHL mod. Doh!

Well major progress over the last few days. Logos completed for all 32 teams, plus addition surprises. Jerseys almost completed for all teams ~ roughly 60%. Money Players completed. Rosters are at 30% complete.

I also made the Steelers helmet logo blank on the left side.

Huh, actually that was pretty easy. If anyone else is interested, all I did was: 1) go to 0A06BA and change 000A 06DC to 001D ADA0. [it was in a free area and seemed like a fun word] 2) go to 0A06CA and change 000A 06FA to 001D ADD0. [even funner] 3) go to 1DADA0 and enter in 34 pairs of random numbers. [You may wish to use a hex calculator to convert a dec number out of 99 to hex for some more specific numbers] 4) go to 1DADD0 and enter in 34 pairs of numbers that two or three values higher than the first set. 5) save as, and you're done. I can post the updated ROM if anyone is interested. I will leave it to Ultramagnus if he deems it fit to add to his guide.
