  1. Not exactly sure when the next season will start, but there will be plenty of information about it through this forum, nhl92.com, and the nhl92.com forums for nhl94. There is a large number of people who want to get in on the next season. Check back often so you get information right away. Thanks for being patient, -Evan
  2. Hey Aqualizard, Jeff was able to continue playing with Quebec, but you can def get in the next season. Will def be fun. And we can play games whenever I'm around which isn't too often for the time being. -Evan
  3. I posted this message in a thread on the NHL Online forums: Aqualizard or Blueapricot (same person) said he would take over, but i haven't seem him online yet to test a game. Aqualizard or Blueapricot, can you post your msn name here as well so that maybe someone else can try testing a game with you from the league and posting the results here? We need to know if you can be around enough to finish Quebec's games. thanks, -Evan You can goto the boards here: http://gensports.proboards23.com/index.cgi?board=nhl94
  4. Hey, If you are around sometime this evening (Thursday) that would be great. Where are you located again? If not this evening, then hopefully in the next couple days.. but chances are I won't be around much this weekend. My MSN name is goldparalax @ hotmail.com -Evan
  5. Hey guys, Unfortunately, Jeff is having internet and health problems... so he needs someone to finish his games for the season. I don't know if he plans on returning for playoffs. Aqualizard, you have the first shot for this position!!! Let us know ASAP if you can play the games. We can play a test game in the next few days. -Evan
  6. I was extremely disappointed with the 96-98 series. Not only was it the same game each time, but it lost almost everything that the 91-95 games had: FUN FACTOR. It was the transition from the old school 91-95 games to the ones being released now. -Evan
  7. Hey, This link is for a photoshop document (PSD) of the SNES rink. It's dimensions are 900x1440 pixels at 150 resolution. That's the biggest one I have. I hope this helps. -Evan SNES Rink PSD approx 5.3 MB
  8. Yea, I tried using your roster extractor with a ROM that was modified using wboys NOSE and no dice. Like you said, the offsets are different.. though I wonder if the offsets are consistent with any ROM that is applied the free byte hacks within NOSE. -Evan
  9. wow nice wboy... always hard at work I'll have to check that out when I have time to devote to it.
  10. hey.. I should be around this evening (like 8-12pm EST)
  11. Guys, Excellent work thus far. We have all game stats, player stats, period stats, and penalty summary.. only leaving the scoring summary to remain. Hopefully this will include whether certain goals were PP goals, SH goals, etc. Dmitry... how are you planning to take this information and extracting it? I'm just curious because you mentioned bringing it into a web-based database.. which is exactly what we'd want to do. Would you somehow have an app convert the hex values to decimal and add them into the appropiate parts/tables of the database? And what type of database would this be? Access? Swos, Have you ever gotten the penalty summary to show fighting majors before? That's interesting.. what penalty caused that? -Evan
  12. I have more offests in case you haven't found them yet. This takes care of all the game stats and period stats for both teams. I haven't been able to find all of the player stats and scoring summary yet... though I'm sure we'll get there. There seems to be a 2nd set of some game stats as shown in the link below. gens32-savestate.htm -Evan
  13. swos, This is excellent. I did exactly what you said, so now we have the save state files from netplay games using Gens32 v1.62. Do the save state files have to be any specific file extension or does it not matter? Like the .gs0 file? So, attached is a link for the Gens32 emu v1.62. I noticed there are alot of versions of this emulator and lots of them seem to be full of bugs. This one seems to work great. Download Here - Gens32 v1.62 dmitry, Now that we have the ability to save netplay games, where do we stand with figuring out where all the stat values are? I've also attached a sample save state file that was created after a netplay game. You can bring this into a hex editor to make sure it seems ok. Download Here - Rom the Save State file came from Download Here - Random Netplay Save State -Evan
  14. I've tried to save a "save state" file during netplay, but I get an error saying you can't save during netplay. It would probably require someone with programming experience to check out the GensPlus emulator, see how it's built and how the program handles netplay.
  15. Hey, Well the first guy who replied worked out great, so we're going with him. We'll def see you in the league next season Aqualizard! -Evan
  16. We need a coach to take LA over in our NHL94 Online league at www.nhl94online.com and http://gensports.proboards23.com/index.cgi?board=nhl94 (same league). It's a first come, first serve basis.. but you have to be in the North America area for ping reasons. Also, you must be able to play at least a few games a week. If you are interested please post on the online league forums within this thread: http://gensports.proboards23.com/index.cgi...read=1130589982 Thanks, -Evan
  17. It seems you can't do a "save state" during netplay. This is a problem. Is there a workaround for this?
  18. Yes, this is something I didn't really know about but could be amazing. I never thought about what the save state's could do. I have a fantasy 94 league with fake players, teams, etc... and typically I would log the game stats at the end of the game. With the ability to grab these values and use them is huge for the reasons you've mentioned. I would use the data to be imported into a database, most likely on a website. The beauty would be that other players could log games and upload stats as well. All of the game stats, player stats, goalie stats, period stats, scoring summary, and penalty summary information would have to be utilized for this to be 100% useful. I will definitely help out with this because I feel it's use is that important. As far as a program for this, could you explain or show examples of apps you've written similar to this? Talk to you soon, -Evan
  19. Hmm... I'd be interested in this tool, though how in depth could we get with the stats? I am a busy person but could help out with offsets. What is the process here? Could we extract the game/player/scoring summary/penalty summary/etc stats from a completed game and bring them into a database? If so, this would be extremely helpful for my friends and I as well. -Evan
  20. Yea with offsides on this edit is useless. I'm glad swos has already looked into this, I had a feeling you did. -Evan
  21. Hey Soccer1, I'm just looking through my notes for the crease, and checking out the possibility of moving the blue lines. Though looking at the current nhl94 rink, it would seem that the rink already has plenty of room in the offensive zone. GIving more room to the offensive zone may not work for the neutral zone. It seems to be a relatively easy thing to do. The rink data goes in order of the tiles across the whole rink from left to right, top to bottom. As you can see below, I changed the blue lines to test they were those tiles. You can also see how the rink is already similar to the current NHL setup. Below is the blue line tiles in Tile Layer Pro. What we would have to do to move them away from the offensive zones is change their placement in a hex editor to be on a different "row". If I have enough spare time, I could move the blue lines and post a screenshot of what it looks like. Next I could look into the trapazoid change as well. -Evan
  22. Hey Soccer1, I don't want to leave you hanging. These edits might be tricky, though I guess it hasn't already been done in any other edit yet? I have been really busy but I do want to look into these things. I have to refresh myself with the rink data, but like the swos edit.. I've been able to edit the crease. I'll post when I have a chance to look into adding the trapazoid and moving the blue lines. Hopefully soon! -Evan
  23. AIM is the most popular chat program... AIM = AOL Instant Messenger. I personally use Trillian, which allows you to connect to AIM, ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo accounts all at once.
  24. Are you referring to netplay (online play)? Click on file -> netplay in Gens or GensPlus. You'll see all of the servers come up listed in order of best ping. You would then need to meet up with someone in one of the server "rooms", either one of you host a game while the other one joins it. The easiest thing to do is chat with someone through AIM, Yahoo, etc and figure out the details there, then meet up in a server room. My screen name is goldparalax if you wanted to play a game with me. You don't load the game first, that happens later in the server room. Is this what you wanted to know? -Evan
  25. Hey aqualizard, This question has been thought about before, and I wouldn't rule it out. In my mind, it would certainly be possible to program a game from scratch that would replicate the look and feel of nhl94. The means to get this accomplished would take plenty of time, energy, knowledge, and some connections to people that would need to help us out. It would definitely require a team most likely started from this community to get this off the ground with a team of programmers and all the works that come with building a game. I don't have the time or energy to put into such a project at this point in my life. Hopefully in the future I will, and when that time comes.. I would most certainly be a part of that project. Until then, keep getting information and talking with people who could be of help down the road. And never rule this option out of your mind. -Evan
