  1. Good segway, doughnuts tooo... terrorism. Works for me. Gotta love fast food chains though. Especially the ones with a healthy section of the menu, so you can balance out the calories with some nutritious deep fried celery sticks. For a fast food chain they are pretty good (is that an oxymoron?). Probably not a good idea to eat there often. But if it is your personal health club make sure you at least have car insurance.. This way if you get sick all you have to do is hop in your ride and crash into stuff.
  2. How would you have known about 'the laundry list' Icestorm? A lot of major deals happen at laundromats during the spin cycle. But me personally, I have fewer substances in my body than Ray Charles dart board has holes.. If you omit high fructose corn syrup, genetically enhanced fruit, and live stock that have growth hormones and steroids. And with all the screenings at my job whatever 'substances' were in my system would have to come with bail money.
  3. Uploaded this earlier today for those who didn't see:
  4. Don't forget to save state for your playoff series, and have your pet spayed or neutered.
  5. Thought about it but decided not to after Philly and Toronto already got some games in. If guys want I can add some games to the schedule, however, I won't have time until Saturday afternoon.
  6. Now It's For Real - The Playoffs Are Here (click for blog entry) "After some two hundred ten games, and more than two months later, the real season begins. Two of the best teams on paper failed to qualify for the post season: Pittsburgh and Calgary. In their absence are unlikely qualifiers in Hartford and Winnipeg. To all coaches who made it to the dance: congratulations, you earned this, make the most of it. It doesn't matter what your seed is, all that matters now is who managed to get a foot in the door and who wants it more. Above is the bracket displaying the top eight teams from each conference and the matchups, juxtaposed. As the post-season rolls along, it will be updated to reflect the current state of the playoffs as rounds progress. So check back often to see if your prognostications hold up. Final scores are to be posted in the Playoff Scores subforum. To coaches that finished the regular season early: sharpen up your game in exhibitions or against the CPU. The last thing anyone wants to do is to go into a series ice cold. This is for more than just a cup, and more than just bragging rights, as the champion will receive his own individual award following the post-season. May the best coach win, and glory to the game." Here's the final regular season stats, and standings if coaches want to do some scouting. If anyone wants to break down some matchups with the coaching statsthat would be cool, too. EDIT: The finals will be on Youtube.
  7. Off a 2 on 0 odd man break a botched 1 timer attempt (note the shooters icon lit up) from a give and go still yields a goal with the quick wrist. Goal: #7 Gilbert Perreault (Freydey) Assist: #11 Rick Martin (Clockwise)
  8. And it is so. Game was simulated with frame skipping. Playoffs to play off in the next couple of days.. I'll update the site tomorrow after work.
  9. Thanks to IE's box model bug I'm paranoid enough to test my pages in virtually every browser besides Etch-A-Sketch: Firefox (my default), IE7+, Opera, and Safari. Couple of months back after testing a page in Safari (then V3.2) I payed a visit to the forums and noticed the menu was discombobulated. Slipped my mind until now. Appears as such in Safari 4: Not a big deal. Less than 9% of web browsers are Safari - though it's Macs default browser I'm not sure what % of people that have a Mac use Safari. Been meaning to tell you about the Community Stats in the header of root pages as it's liquid or spans - not sure if this is intentional or not. Took this Print Screen in Firefox but it appears in every browser I have: The Community Stats containing tables "%" width value is the culprit. It can be corrected by changing the value of this table to an absolute integer or to the width of community_stats.png (150px).
  10. It's a sport where men have knives laced to their feet and are armed with clubs.. It's a miracle no ones killed every game. Having read a lot of literature about the game from the 40's and 50's the last 15 years or so are velvet glove. Anyone who want's to know about the stone age of hockey should have Dale Hunter on speed dial.. He set hockey back ten years every time he took the ice.. Pretty sure his commode has a penalty box around it at home so he feels comfortable. As I type this Pierre Turgeon's ears are probably ringing.
  11. Looks like La and Boston got that game in. Which leaves the final game of the regular season between Minnesota and La. Since this game could determine Hartford's and Minnesota's seeding the playoffs won't begin until it's completed. Once it is I'll update the poll, blog, and main page with a bracket and the post season will commence.
  12. Salute to Canada, and one my favorite shows - the Canadian comedy troop Kids In the Hall... Even though they stopped making shows like 15 years ago I got em all on DVD.
  13. You can get a cart on ebay for a nickel about 6 dollars. Yes, yes it does. It's a wonder Segathon hasn't sent us any ticking packages yet.
  14. Fanhouse: Adam Gretz Apt for cap? Sather's lumbar must be feeling better after getting that baby grand piano off his back.. Not sure what this translates into for Koivu, has his ship already sailed? Rumblings about from so called "gurus" claim that he could land in Minnesota with his brother. EDIT: Higgins has scored more than 20 goals in all but 1 season (08-09): 23, 22, 27. Gomez hasn't scored more than 16 goals in the last 3 seasons: 13, 16, 16. With a 7.34 cap hit Not sure how Michael Busto fits into all of this.
  15. It's coffee, which is consumed out of Ron Barr's head - or the mug with his face on it. Which was in the dishwasher when I took that pic. Yeah you should - every one should. Do you have enough cart's to spell Evan with?
  16. Don't know, I have some reservations about this format.. Not to be a fatalist, after all 2on2 is my opus, and I did everything I could to keep the league rolling. But it's not easy finding an equilibrium for competition in this format. Some teams can be grossly over matched when faced against some of the veterans who understand all of the nuances - intercepting goalie passes with the poke check - half wall wrap around 1 timers - who retrieves the puck on the draw, and who's going up ice etc. For new guys to the team format the crux of the issue is how fast teammates develop synergy with one another and actually enjoy playing together. Last season Los Angeles was the only teams able to finish every game. Some teams became disinterested after getting battered in the standings and just quit... Though the other half of some teams still wanted to finish up. And there were only 6 clubs. Could ad a schedule to the 2on2 site if it goes down.. Would like to hear some ideas on how the teams could be setup.
  17. Howdy stranger, Evan created a tutorial for SNES's Zbattle, and a tutorial for Gens Kaillera netplay client. Made a tutorial myself for Gens as well. Mosey on down to the 1 night event sub forum once you get situated setting up your emu's. And you can find some worthy opponents on the AIM list of SNES players (not sure how many are active). Good luck and velcom.
  18. Thought "more than you would be applicable", fixed it though.
  19. Will be on tomorrow and Tuesday looking to finish my season. As alluded to previously, I attempted to schedule with Quebec but Houl never did reply to my topic or to multiple PM's, until yesterday (or was it Friday?) on AIM, saying that we would play Sunday. Considering an allotted nine days were available to play and there was no genuine effort on Houl's behalf to schedule or respond, a FF is in order. Personally, I'd rather play the game so if you read this, Houl and still want to play: I'll be on till about 12am and will be available tomorrow, including Tuesday after work.
  20. The only viable excuse for not having a NHL'94 cartridge is that you have many, you remodeled your bathroom and all the shower tiles are now NHL'94 cartridges, or you are in fact a NHL'94 cartridge yourself. Emulators are a nice way to play the game, don't get me wrong, but a league player not having the cartridge is like a local weather man who doesn't wear a pathetic bow tie. Or a self obsessed person who doesn't flap their phone shut with maximum velocity when they are finished talking to tell everyone they're done being cool. It's also versatile and is good to take bar hopping (not a better innuendo than cartridge slot), and you can punch a hole through the cart and wear it on your belt loop with one of those janitor cords. But it doesn't matter which version of the game you have, or how you bought | borrowed | exhumed | found in another persons house; as long as you have one. And hopefully you have the manual so you can cut out Mark Lesser's head and put it on a picture of an ex or on a picture of someone who doesn't have the cartridge. Having the system to actually play the damn game it is good too. I want to make everyone aware that the room was actually dark when these pictures were taken. When all the NHL'94 artifacts are assembled in one place they glow like the stones in the Indiana Jones movie.
  21. Disney on ice? That's why I zoomed in for the money shot, so even Stevie Wonder on a galloping horse could see it was redirected in. And yes, the Goal was awarded to Mikita #21 (HABS) Save state attached if anyone want's to have a look: GOTW_wrap_around_tip_in.zip
  22. 2on2's version of master piece theater minus the Werthers Original old guy in a smoking jacket. I have a plethora of save states accumulated from many games consisting of Spielberg worthy goals where I take a fast save if there's a rare, or great goal. Don't want them to go unnoticed, so every week the best goal or play will be on display. And by week I mean any increment of time, so expect some 8 hour weeks. Goal: #21 Stan Mikita (Habs) Assist: #9 Bobby Hull (Clockwise)
  23. Who is Calgary Flames? You are correct sir! We would of accepted Super Sutter Bros. as well. Phaneuf and Mister Bouwmeester is D-elicious. Makes the Flyers deal that much more meth labish.
  24. Tavares better get witness protection before the Islanders try to sign him to an 80 year deal.
