  1. I asked Evan last night and he said this tournament would be like a "standard" bracket. If that changes, I'll see whether the bracket site can handle the flexibility.
  2. I had a bad record with Edmonton this year; it would have been a bummer to take mostly losses for games unplayed even though I was trying about as hard as anyone on this board to get them played.
  3. Just because you didn't get to hear Jesus Christ preach in person doesn't mean you don't get into Heaven.
  4. I think everyone should take this advice, regardless of what happens. It's a league for fun, it's a work in progress, and the guys who put it all together for you are working very, very hard. I'd like to think that even if adjustments to playoff seedings weren't being made - which only complicates Jacob/Evan/Mat 's lives rather than making things easier - that even the people most outspoken against how FFs/DNPs/0-0s worked this year would be able to relax, let it go, and enjoy themselves. This isn't worth getting miserable over! Let's play some playoff hockey!
  5. I am very optimistic that these concerns will be addressed next season, because few here disagree with you. It's in everyone's best interests for the league to make as much sense as possible.
  6. I would rather start this Goulet Than this Goulet
  7. With Noonan in the lineup you probably could have scored 70. Goulet had fewer goals than either of your defensemen in that game and only managed 6 shots... He is truly awful. I think that Goulet's presence in Chicago's starting lineup is why, mathematically, the team gets a 78 rating, instead of the 99 they would otherwise merit. P.S. - You should show some respect to the community here. There is no need for slinging personal insults in every thread you participate in.
  8. Fluent in English. Could probably get around France and not be in the bottom 25% of retarded tourists. Trying to learn Spanish. I can say the following with no accent: "Ingen Svensk", which is useful when the Swedes are going on and on and on about how they have the best hockey team in all of Scandinavia but I can't understand exactly how they're saying it. I also speak the language of common courtesy, sprinkled with humor. But my sense of humor is rapidly running out, especially this morning. I would appreciate it if the flaming and trolling would stop now.
  9. I've always been frustrated that there wasn't an option to turn off icing too.
  10. High school football teams should watch this instead of Remember the Titans to get pumped up
  11. I won't say you're crazy, but in my opinion editing lines in response to injuries and PPs is well within the bounds of fair play. If a guy is just trying to ensure that a particular player stays on or off the ice, editing the line should be a pretty quick process.
  12. GENS Pool Brackets are up. Follow the links and register for a free account to make your picks. There is nothing at stake but pride. 14. I understand the frustration with the situation. I think everyone should remember a couple of things: 1) Although much of the way things are working out right now doesn't feel fair, it would probably be even less fair if Evan and the gang changed the rules midstream. A policy was in place to handle unplayed games, and although it may be imperfect, it is a little cleaner to follow the rules as they were clearly spelled out. However, that said... 2) Your opinion matters - people have definitely weighed in on the subject, and I strongly believe that changes will be introduced next season to limit injustices. So keep the suggestions coming, but also keep in mind that... 3) At the end of the day this is just a game. There are no lives at stake, no money. These guys put a lot of effort into providing a fun environment to play the greatest video game of all time, and while opinions and suggestions are always encouraged, try to keep some perspective, and always be respectful. Thanks!
  15. If I'm getting shut out in the 3rd I have a tendency to create my own blowouts, switching to a really wide-open game, taking a tons of chances in an effort to score. Leaves me open to a lot of breakaways and putbacks from ill-advised goalie passes, and almost always makes the final goal differential worse. But after cutting my teeth on the original cart (what would have been '92) where shutouts came about once every 1000 games, I'm conditioned to try to avoid it at all costs.
  16. There's a good tutorial here: http://nhl94online.com/html/getting-started.shtml I'll look for you online this afternoon.
  17. That may be the method that was to divide the groups, but the reason we have multiple groups at all is simply because we have a lot of players. For example, if there were only 20 players, and 10 were considered veterans and 10 were considered rookies, I really don't think we'd have a 10-team A League and a 10-team B League, just to make sure that the newer players don't get to play the veterans.
  18. It still seems like you don't understand. Greg is saying that the first statistic used for standings could be games played. So if someone is 5-35 but the only person with 40 games played, he would be in first place, until someone with a better record also played 40 games. He's not saying that he himself is in first right now. He's giving a hypothetical example to illustrate the system he was throwing out there.
  19. Maybe I'm wrong, but I always kind of figured that the point of A and B league was simply that we had too many interested players for one league and had to split them in two. I never imagined that the point was to make sure players were segregated.
  20. You seem to be missing his point. He's raising a hypothetical.
  21. Pish posh. That's a terrible reason to not play hockey. It's like when my roommates and I used to bet beers. If you won a bet and lost a bet, the beers did NOT cancel out - you each owed each other beer. The point was to CREATE BEER. Saying that we shouldn't "let" the B League champ play the A League champ because the B league guy hasn't earned it, pish posh. We must always CREATE HOCKEY.
  22. I've played 39 games and the only one left is kgman. Play me! Play me or I'm going to kick the computer's butt EDM vs. HAR, take a screen shot and then email it to Jacob and claim that you won't log our game. Play me!
