  1. Just a bit longer than a game of 94 with 5 minute periods.
  2. If I were running this thing, I would contact these guys. http://www.tecmomadison.com/Rules Tecmo XI - "Apocalipps Now" includes both Group Play and Bracket Play. Group Play will consist of various 8-man double-elimination pools. Only the Group Winners and Group Runners-Up of each double-elimination pool will advance to Bracket Play. The initial rounds of Bracket Play will be single-elimination. Time-permitting, we again intend to re-introduce double-elimination at some point. Last year, we introduced it in the Elite 8 round. Bracket Play will be played out until only the Tecmo X Champion remains. In order to speed things up in Group Play, the participant advancing from the winner's side will not play the participant that ultimately advances from the loser’s side. The former will simply be declared the Group Winner (he will be 3-0) while the latter will be declared the Group Runner-Up (he will be either 3-1 or 4-1). Group Winners will be seeded higher for Bracket Play than Group Runners-Up. Within each of the four regions, Group Winners will be seeded according to point differential (they will all be 3-0) while Group Runners-Up will be seeded by point differential per game. This tournament can accommodate up to 256 competitors. Group Play should take just over 5 hours. Another 4-5 hours will be needed to complete Bracket Play. We reserve the right to expand the field, shrink the field, and/or change the format if demand so necessitates.
  3. Awesome job as always Slapshot. This is just amazing. Can you post or PM me a tutorial on how to: #1 Add individualized Center Ice logos. #2 Add the Stanley Cup to the playoff brackets. I want to do this to some of my historical roms. Thanks.

  5. Maybe I put it in and just don't remember, because after reviewing all of Slapshots from a straight download it is not there. Please disregard my earlier post.
  6. I am not sure where it is but DaDonch changed it in the 93 GDL rom and easnhockey put in a cool Diet Coke emblem in one of his roms. So those guys may no where it is and be able to post. It looks weird like they left it out.
  7. I want to preserve the feel of the classic rom with as much realism as possible. Currently working on a 1952 rom featuring Gordie Howe. I used the worst teams in the game for the bottom 4 teams to make the game play slower like the 1950's. I then used 2 poor teams Philly and New Jersey for Detroit and Montreal. I added proper handedness and weight plus some other minor tweaks to players I knew about. For Detroit I used Philadelphia and Eric Lindros as my base for Gordie Howe. Montreal I used New Jersey with Richer as Rocket Richard.
  8. 94 has no 3 Stars Sponsor like 93 had with Pro-Set. It looks like the space was left for it, but it is just blank. Any way we could insert one?
  9. Awesome Feedback. Thanks. http://www.legendsofhockey.net/LegendsOfHockey/jsp/SearchPlayersNameMenu.jsp Amazing site. It has a write up (2 or 3 paragraphs) on every player that has ever played in the NHL plus their stats. For guys in Hall of Fame it has amazing detail. Talks whether a guy was a good or fast skater, agile, passer, 2 way player, checker, blazing shot etc.... So here is what I have been doing. I am just making 10 players per team as beyond that are guys nobody would ever use. I then do accurate weight, number, and handedness. After that. Everybody starts with a 3 in every attribute to start or a 60 overall. Defensemen get 2 in Off Aw and 4 in Def Aw. I give no 0's or 6's. Then I tie skating and agility together for most as it is in the regular game. I do make a few exceptions for variety. Great or Fast skaters get 5's. Star players get 4's. Most keep a 3, and a few drop to 2 if they were known poor skaters. Shot Power most keep a 3. Stars get a 4 and rep can get you a 5. Shot Acc is based on Goal Scoring. (The most Lame rating EA used was shooting % for this) Stickhandling and Passing gets a boost on known rep of being a playmaker, passer, good moves etc... Again most stay at 3 stars get 4 and a few get 5. Endurance everybody gets a 6 as it has no effect with Line Changes OFF. Checking is actually pretty easy and detailed on the site if I guy was good. 3's for most, 4 or 5 for big hitting aggressive guys and 1's or 2's for soft or Byng guys. By the way there were not many of these in the Original 6 era. The brutality of the game was mind boggling. I also basically give the rating for Aggression. My 2 biggest struggles are Awareness and Shooting bias because I am not sure how much they matter. Right now I have shooting bias as 2 for everybody to make it easy. Thoughts? Awareness is a surprising big part of the overall rating. How much does it matter? I may post what I've done soon and see if anybody test is willing to test and give me feedback on how it plays. How do guys like Skip and whoever else does the modern roms do the ratings? It is a huge job with just 6 teams of 10 players can't imagine doing 30 team full rosters. My goal is variety but somewhat even teams overall. I also want it to play similar or true to the Original Rom. I am using the wt bug fix and plan to use the c/b check fix. Thanks again, I'll post rom later if anybody has time to test. Keep the ideas coming.
  10. Stats? Reputation? Career? Best Season? Realistic? Arcade? Example: I like how '92 makes Cam Neely speedy even though he was not. Since speed is one of the most important attributes should all the best players be speedy (92 kinda does this) or is realism better. Marty Pavelich was one of the fastest skaters in the 50's/60's and Gordie Howe was average at best. Do you want a rom where Marty Pavelich is better or on the same level as Gordie Howe? or do you want a rom where Gordie is the best? I need help rating the players for my Original 6 roms I am working on. Give me some input.
  11. Thanks. Solid group of Buds is the most important part of a solid league. The most important part to being a solid bud imo is not waiting until deadlines or warnings or the last minute to play your games OR communicating why you are gonna be away. This group of buds has been exceptional we finished both leagues way ahead of schedule. Like by more than a month. We have played 2 Full Seasons in around 4 months. Each league was 6 weeks from start to awarding the Cup and we had a 2 week break in between. I really enjoy running these leagues. I am really trying to love '94 so I can play more. I wish I was in Classic B instead of GDL, but did not feel I could do both and get easily frustrated by wasting time not playing games.
  12. Championship Edition of the EASN Hockey News is Out! http://www.nhl92.com/ Final Stats/Awards/Standings and stuff. http://www.nhl92.com/2015springs2.htm Great Season guys see you in the Fall.
  13. Sausage Fest = Out Bring back the Karate Girls!
  14. Thanks Lupz, no offense taken. I am planning a small Original 6 94 league in the Fall using a rom I am currently working on. Gump Worsley, Andy Bathgate, and the 1958 Rangers want you as the coach.
  15. San Jose and LA have a big match-up for the first ever John Deere Cup! All California can Brutus pull off the miracle with the expansion Sharks. You guys can decide best of 5 or 7.
  16. ^^^^ My thoughts exactly. We finished both '92 Leagues in 6 weeks with 98 % completion of games. Great job and a great group of Buds. Congrats AJ and KingRaph. I plan on putting the Oilers through rigorous training all summer and buying a controller with 3 buttons to make a run at you guys.
  17. You are amazing. Love the Stanley Cup on the playoff page. 2 Splash screens is awesome! Amazing, amazing work. Will you be posting tutorials on how to edit the second splash screen and hopefully a patch to have the real cup on the playoff page.
  18. Yup, this is the greatest most fun part about editing this game. I have spent tons of time playing with this making different splash screens etc... I have some major improvements coming to my 93 and 94 Original 6 roms and some other roms in the works. I love this part of editing. I hate the player rating part. Tough to get right or a good formula to use.
  19. Not so fast my friend. Who told you such a thing? Mario has no assurance of a return and if he does it might be with very little in supporting cast. Pittsburgh is ridiculous. The more I have played around with this game the more I am convinced they may be the single most dominant team in the history of video game sports. No offense to Labs, but that is why I can not qualify him as an "A" player. I hung with and even beat AJ with Pitt Line 2. I had no chance with the Oilers against AJ and EDM is a top 5 team, but not on the same planet as Pitt Line 2. AJ and Raph have good teams and are outstanding coaches. They both could win it with anyone. Look at every league and console they play in and on. I believe it is the flesh and blood behind the sticks more than the pixels on the screen for the most part. Pittsburgh being the exception. Brutus with Philly and Dead with Toronto and Hartford also get a big thumbs up for performing well with rather untalented pixelated heroes. By the way I love playing against you superior coaches I just hope you don't get bored hammering me. My day will come and I am playing with just 2 buttons. I may have to change that.
  20. Good Luck to Both of you it should be a Classic. I bet in goes 7 games. http://www.nhl92.com/2015springs2.htm Here is a Finals rom with the proper match-up. 92(S2)Finals.bin
  21. Any stats or scores? Estimate? Lupz and Skelly lets gets this done.
  22. IMO. Not going to happen. I don't use it because I do not have an a button, but the guys who do it well deserve credit for it and it levels the field for superior teams. I would like it not to be a penalty.
  23. Penalties are so rampant in '92, I am considering penalties off for the next season next winter.
