  1. A "C" league is exactly for that...casual players, new players, and terrible players. The problem with the low-tier players in the draft league is that most of the time they're getting thrashed. They're basically fighting among each other not to be the worst. Games between them are good, and I'm not throwing anyone in there, just some matchups in general. The lower players like me have only scored upsets a few times this season, I believe. Players like me, I don't think could hang with high B players. That's why I'm pushing for the C league. I don't want to see anyone give up this great game due to being thrashed night in and night out As for the relegation/promotion...every season, the leagues draw new teams, no? The promoted players would get first pick in A. The relegated players would get first pick in B, then it'd go by last season's standings from the bottom up. The champs get the last pick. If they can win the league with some middle team, they can do it with a low-tier team. I'm very passionate about the need for a "C" league. I don't want to see players like me feel embarassed about how bad they are and how they would want to quit because they're getting outclassed on a nightly basis. All I'm essentially looking for is a fair shake for my rookie bretheren
  2. My sticking point is any promotion/relegation that is implemented. Rookies who join the B league and get shelled will be one and done. The last thing the league needs is to discourage players who, like me, suck, by throwing them right into the fire with good players for them to get shelled 9-0 night in and night out.
  3. Not dividing the leagues by skill is a bad idea. I don't want to join a league and end up get pounded to death every friggin' game. Kinda' takes the fun out of playing when you're losing 10-0 every night. If anything, we need a "C" league, for total rookies, and terrible players. At least then those guys could win the C league, then jump to B and get destroyed, and guys who finish low in the C league don't get relegated out altogether, thus always giving them a place to continuously hone their skills until they either get good, or give up due to frustration.
  4. I like all the stuff you're implementing. Hopefully I can get a shot at joining Gens B, and not end up getting relegated after just one season EDIT: Filled out an application and sent it in. Hopefully that's the way I had to go about signing up for the next season's league. If not, just ignore it
  5. I'm trying. I'm in a bit of a funk right now, that's why I haven't played as much as I would want to. I'm still aiming to have my season done by the end of January. Then I can re-focus on getting better again.
  6. I got NHL 2k7, along with other stuff. It's a helluva game, best console hockey game in modern days. Though my money's still with NHL 94
  7. New Jersey Devils - Scott Stevens. 'Nuff said. New York Rangers - The trio of Messier, Gartner, and Tikkanen rules. Toronto Maple Leafs - Dougie Gilmour. God on skates
  8. I'm also out until 2007. I'm burned out from this game and so many blowouts, I need a good long break. See ya next year.
  9. Nice one If I were to do pushups everytime I lost, I wouldn't have arms now
  10. I'll upload it somewhere else tomorrow. I'll need to look at it in NOSE and see what exactly I need.
  11. I have hit a bit of a wall with this project. I'm not discontinuing it, I will keep editing, but I'd like help from the community. If you can help me with a team, I would appreciate it mightily. Ratings I can come up with on my own, players are really all I need.
  12. I also have a playoff idea. Seperate playoffs. The 12 playoff teams, then you have the rest. The rest of the teams that didn't make the playoffs play in a playoff-like tournament to determine the best of the rest. This would give teams (like mine) to keep playing hard all year, knowing that there is some sort of postseason for everyone, instead of just going through the motions after being mathmatically eliminated from a playoff berth.
  13. Gilmour's Goal and Assist Lead Devs to 4th Straight Victory It was the Devils' first sellout of the season, and their team gave the fans a reason to cheer. Doug Gilmour scored 48 seconds in to give the Devils a 1-0 lead over the Maple Leafs. Later in the period, Craig Janney scored on a beautiful Gilmour pass to make it 2-0. That was all Bob Essensa needed. Essensa stopped 8 shots en route to his first shutout of the season, and his 4th win of the year. "These guys feel really good about themselves right now. We're playing harder than ever, and we're playing with a lot of heart. We want to win so bad, and it's all coming together" Coach Tom Delgado said after the win. Bob Essensa's 1st Shutout of the Season!
  14. Now that we've played and I got a look at your style close up...I can give you some advice that I've taken to heart. -Know what your team is capable of doing. For example, I figured out after starting 0-14 that this team can't hit for their lives. That's why I started poke checking, and we've been much more competitive. -One-timers. Any offense that can score must know how to use this deadly weapon to their advantage. I think I use it too much, but hey...gotta go with what gets you to the show -Defensive focus. Keep a guy in the middle. Sometimes it's not better to follow the puck. I'd be content to keep one guy back to poke the puck away from the goalie. Those are some things I think will make you a really good player. Coming from me, it sounds like shenanigans, but I feel that my game has gotten so much better from where it was when the season started.
  15. Shanahan's 3 Goals in 4 Games Lead Devils to 3 Wins In the longest home and home series ever (4 games), the New Jersey Devils took 3 games out of 4 from the Quebec Nordiques, including both games at the Brendan Byrne Arena. The first game was a romp, as the Nordiques sent their fans at the Colisee de Quebec home happy with a 6-2 win. Little did the Nordiques know that they pissed off Devils coach Tom Delgado off, and that Delgado was either a motivational genius, or someone who liked to light a fire under someone's ass. Either one works, as the Devils squeezed out a 3-2 Overtime win in game #2 on a goal by Doug Gilmour (assist by Brendan Shanahan). It gave Bob Essensa his 1st win of the season. Back to Brendan Byrne Arena we go, where the fan attendances are slowly increasing, as 6,177 came to see another exciting game. Bob Essensa turned away 19 Nordique shots as the Devils pulled off another Overtime escape, winning 4-3 on a game-winner by Brendan Shanahan (assisted by Craig Janney). In the finale, in front of a rare 5-figure crowd of 11,829, the Devils took off to a 5-2 lead after 2 periods, but sat on it too soon, as Quebec quickly responded to make it 5-4. Joel Otto netted his 14th goal of the season on a beautiful pass from Al MacInnis. The Devils then put in what would be the game-winner on a good pass from Paul Coffey to Shanahan, who had a goal and 2 assists in this one. Fans nearly swallowed their hearts when the Devils gave the Nords a foolish 5 on 3 with just over 2 minutes left. Quebec took advantage once, with a wonderful goal by Jaromir Jagr, getting Bob Essensa out of position, and just punching it in. Frantically, the Nordiques hustled to get an equalizer, but Bob Essensa and the beleaguered Devils defense was up to the task this time. Essensa stopped 11 shots en route to his 3rd win of the season, and the Devils' 4th. "These past 3 games have been a dream. This is exactly how I want this team to play. I told them that if they played hard and believed in themselves, they had no reason to think that their efforts would not be rewarded. This is our Stanley Cup, basically...because even if we make the playoffs, it will be VERY tough for us to get out of round one. These guys deserve praise, and I demand you guys in the media give it to them" Coach Delgado told reporters in his office after the win. The Brendan Byrne Arena - Poison to the Quebec Nordiques
  16. Rob B is a nice guy when you do get a hold of him, and like CamKneely said, I'm sure he's just very busy ATM. Same with Edisaurusrex. I talked to him today and we're gonna get our games done later tonight.
  17. Richer's Game-Winner is a Dagger Through the Hearts of Devils Fans Ottawa's fans saw a very exciting game despite a low score. They also got their happy ending. Stephane Richer's double and game winner in overtime sent the sold out crowd at the Ottawa Civic Center home very happy. It also sent Devils coach Tom Delgado into a state of depression. "This one hurts really bad" Delgado told the media after the loss. "We really played hard, and I hate it for these guys. They wanted this win so bad, and we couldn't get it. The point is a small consolation, but these guys deserved to win. We're getting better, and we're gonna try to rebound from this" He added. Bob Essensa, who made 7 saves, including 2 big ones to keep the game tied, did not talk to reporters, as he was visibly shaken. The last we saw of Bob, he was being consoled by goalies coach Glenn "Chico" Resch. Janney's Goal Sends it to OT, but Devils Still Lose
  18. I like the screenshot you posted though. If you completed the mod, I'm sure it would be incredible
  19. I don't think it's possible to delete teams right now.
  20. New way of losing: I now berate my opponent's play and wander off muttering obsenities, much like my favorite poker player, Phil Hellmuth
  21. Way to have your eyes closed when taking the picture Anyway, nice job
  22. Save the playoff talk. We gotta win another game, or at least, score another point
  23. Once again, the league's best backup proved why he's exactly that. No, Darcy Wakaluk didn't get a shutout. Ken Wregget shut down the hard working Devils offense once again, as the Rangers skate off with the points and a 4-0 victory. Another Mario Lemieux hat trick was the killer. "Something isn't right about Wregget. There's no way he can be THAT good. Steroids, perhaps?" Coach Delgado quipped after the loss. "These guys are embarassed about losing twice in a row to a backup, and getting shutout just adds salt to the wound. We'll have to rebound." Shouldn't He Be Starting? Wregget Makes His Case With Back to Back Shutouts
  24. Usually, you want to follow historic wins with more good performances. Instead, the Devils went the other way. Back to being the Mickey Mouse club. Ken Wregget stopped 12 shots as the Devils couldn't get their offense going in an 8-0 scrimmage. Super Mario made sure he put the Devils away early with 4 goals. There was no magic left in Darcy Wakaluk's body, as he was pulled at 6-0. Ken Wregget Notches 1st Shutout of Season
  25. Paul Coffey Salutes Fans After Scoring Game Winner In what could be described as the upset of the century, the New Jersey Devils finally got off the mark wins-wise, scoring a shocking 7-6 OT victory over the heavily-favored New York Rangers. A pair of hat tricks by Doug Gilmour and Brendan Shanahan, along with Paul Coffey's game winner early in OT led the way for coach Tom Delgado to get his first league win. The Devils win despite a 4-goal game from "Super Mario" Mario Lemieux. Darcy Wakaluk turned in a gutsy performance en route to his first win of the season, making 11 saves, including several big saves late in the 3rd when it seemed that the Devils would give up the lead. When the game winning goal was scored, Delgado was immediately doused with Gatorade, and was found still on the bench about an hour later, frozen. Shanahan's Hat Trick Helps Lead Devils to Upset
