  1. You guys forgot Darren Turcotte He is AMAZING for me. Often I've found myself benching Messier for Turcotte...with great results
  2. NEWARK, NJ --- Brimming with confidence today, Devils coach Tom Delgado decided that today is the day to guarantee victory. "We're playing for keeps now. We've been embarassed enough. I will not allow this team to be humiliated ANYMORE. I'm shoving my chips to the middle of the table, anyone who wants in get in, anyone who wants out get out. This team is going to win 7 times this season" Delgado told the media in his daily news conference. Everyone promptly laughed in his face. "You don't think we can do it? Well, **** you guys. I've had just about enough of you media puppets making jokes out of my team. We've got a great bunch of hard workers, and James Patrick, who WILL come out and stab you all with his skate if you don't shut up" Delgado shouted after the reporters were done laughing. James Patrick did come out and chase some reporters with his skate. Unfortunately, all the reporters escaped. Afterwards, Delgado and Patrick high-fived. Apparently, their little rift is over and are on the same page.
  3. Dear Juicemaker, Thanks for the shot at me in your letter to DALE Hawerchuk I'll be sure to repay you by scoring my first GDL win in nearly a full season *WHO DARES TO BET ON THE DEVILS?* Warm Regards, SSiG The only person who can turn losing into a work of art
  4. Another open letter Dear New Jersey Devils, You suck. Go hang yourselves. Signed, SSiG
  5. Let's get our series done ASAP. You know where to find me.
  6. Last night, me and Donchy had such a wild game Sweden (DaDonch44) 21, USA (SSiG) 20 (3 SO/OT's)
  7. I feel your pain smozoma. My guys never pass well at all. I own the worst passing % in GDL history I've wanted to strangle Bellows or Fedorov several times when they had a potential one-timer pass to Neely go wide...or right into the waiting stick of a defenseman. Their rink vision is very bad. I prescribed huge glasses for Fedorov, but he won't wear them. As for Bellows, he's hopeless, so he just rides the pine in favor of GDL's best #4 forward, Darren Turcotte
  8. Now I remember how much fun this game was Played a pair against Tickenest Game 1: USA (SSiG) 10, Soviet Union (Tickenest) 9 (Shootout) Game 2: Poland (Tickenest) 11, USA (SSiG) 10 Playing with 4 of the fat players leads to a lot of fun
  9. I've played as much as I could despite my record...but I've been laid up with a mystery back injury (I don't know how it happened) since last monday.
  10. I still play this on occasion, but I use the old 4f lineup Fat Fat Fat Fat Since they all kinda' look like Mario
  11. Yzerman's Pair Doom Devils to 13th Straight Loss ANAHEIM, CA --- Steve Yzerman continues to be a thorn in the Devils' side. His game-tying goal with 26 seconds left cancelled out Brian Bellows' beauty with 1:38 left, and late in the OT session, Yzerman struck again with 1:36 left in the OT session to break the Devils' hearts again. New Jersey, entering the game with a 12-game losing streak, got their first point of the season out of it though. "I really thought we'd get'em this time" Coach Delgado said after the game. "We were playing so well for once. Even when they crippled Fedorov...and by the way Adam Burt, you'll be hearing from Sergei's attorney, we didn't give up. We kept playing our brand of hockey, we kept playing smart, defensive hockey. Felix did a wonderful job tonight, he was able to keep the crease clean of any garbage." Added Delgado. When asked about James Patrick, all Delgado had to say was "Yes, he's a player on this team. Why do you ask?". Coach Delgado continues to be as clueless as we are about how this team finds ways to lose, but this time, they might have found something. Could we possibly see some more of this "Smart, defensive hockey" that coach Delgado keeps yapping about? Wanted in New Jersey: $500,000 Reward
  12. That point would disappoint many many people who expected to cash in on a zero-point season Besides, I do not believe we have an open game scheduled.
  13. NEW YORK, NY -- Whoever had the Devils going 0-56, you may be cashing in big. According to several Las Vegas casinos, there have been substantial bets placed before the season on the New Jersey Devils going 0-56, thus losing every single game this season. 12 games in, those people who made those bets are looking mighty confident. The latest debacle came at Madison Square Garden with a 7-2 thumping by the New York Rangers. This latest loss included a scene in which coach Tom Delgado grabbed the house mic and publically chastized his team. He then proceeded to punch James Patrick in the face, sparking the most exciting moment in the game, where Patrick started trying to stab his coach with a skate. He was subsequently arrested, but is out on his own recognisance. It is unknown whether or not coach Delgado will press charges, though he should worry more about the state of his winless team rather than his own life. Zarley Zalapski Looks on in Confusion as Delgado and Patrick Brawl!
  14. Eklund, Blues Humiliate Devils Remember the name: Pelle Eklund. Pelle's 5 goals helped the Blues to a decisive 12-0 victory tonight to push the Devils to a 0-9-0 start. Vincent Damphousse chipped in with a hat trick and 3 assists. After the game, Felix Potvin was quite vocal about being pulled after giving up his 3rd goal of the game. "I told coach right after the game that he was out of his mind for pulling me. The look he gave me after I said that tells me that he didn't care about what I had to say. I don't like playing for coaches who do not and will not listen to his players" Potvin told reporters as he was leaving the arena tonight. After the loss, team captain Potvin called a players-only meeting. He would not reveal the results from that meeting, but things are clear. After 9 games, the Devils have no faith in their coach, and he has no faith in them. The only thing these guys might have to play for at this point is to avoid an extremely humiliating winless season. Eklund Gives the Blues Five
  15. Spot on so far...but you forgot the part where I lose my first 30 + games
  16. Devils Still Winless. Other Than That, Nothing Unusual Guess who's still winless? Give up? It's the Devils! The only team that has a realistic chance of going 0-58-0. Despite a seemingly solid offense, New Jersey still has a huge goose egg in the win column. Starting their season 0-7-0, New Jersey's inadequacies in defense are obvious. "We're not on the right page at the moment." James Patrick told reporters after their latest debacle, a 7-1 loss to Anaheim. "Right now, we're just out of sync, and it just seems to me that our coach doesn't want to be there." Patrick added. "It's as if he's lost his will to try" Added Cam Neely. "He's one of the best GM's in this league, how that doesn't translate into good coaching, I have no idea." Devils head coach/GM Tom Delgado couldn't explain it either. "I don't know. I just don't know. Nothing's going right for us, and if I can be honest, I don't know if we can turn this around. The skill gap from this team to the rest of the league is so wide. We're just not good. Something needs to change, and if that something is me, then so be it. I just want what's best for this team. You guys know what happened when I resigned last season, kgman took this team to the finals. Maybe these guys need someone else behind the bench. I'm really out of solutions." Delgado said, as he left the room to talk to assistant coach Richard Brodeur. Coach Delgado soon after released a statement saying "I have absolutely no intentions of resigning at this time. The intention at this point is to focus on strategy for the next game, and shoring up our defense. We gotta try and figure a way out of this before it spirals even more out of control". Looks like Tom Delgado will be staying with the Devils for the time being, but you know how the fiery coach is. You never know when he's going to explode. You could say that the fuse has been lit, but that would probably be quite the understatement. Delgado Looks For Solution to Start-of-Season Slump
  17. trudatman: Yeah, I know. Turcotte rules Just a bit of a shell shock when you realize a backup you drafted is your best
  18. Day 4 of my "Bad Night"... -Lost 4-0 in GDL opener @ Boston. -Lost 2-1 to CPU Detroit. -A combined 11 penalties in both games (4 against Boston, 7 against Detroit) -Controller tossed across living room in disgust. -I'm SSiG. This is normal for me because the ROMs seem to be hardcoded with the logic that "If SSiG is playing, YOU CAN'T LOSE!!! I'm sure I'll be adding to THIS one as well
  19. I'll be around later tonight, probably from 10 PM on. I do want to get my season started tonight, so that it can be over sooner and I can take my winless season and go home.
  20. Congrats to Awesomerino on the job opportunity...but boo on leaving me to take many a beating for the D League
  21. -Your best effort is a 7-0 loss. -You dominate the stats against the CPU and lose 4-1. -You come to the realization that your best won't be good enough for more than 3 wins in a season. -Your best player is Darren Turcotte. -You miss a tap-in and send the puck flying into the nosebleed section. -The opposing goalie somehow scores on you. -I forgot to mention...the goalie was THE FRIGGIN' CPU!!! -Losing 6-0 after 2 periods to the same CPU that I could tally 15 goals on if I was motivated. More to come, I'm just so demoralized at the moment.
  22. 10th for me? Aren't we being quite generous? The bar was lowered last night from 14 wins to 3 wins. I don't think I need to explain.
  23. I can do commentaries...as long as the files are Windows Movie Maker usable. You'd have to send any game you want me to commentate on to me
  24. 3 Tony Twists?!? So much for winning this week
