  1. I am unfamiliar with the Blitz hacks, but my wants are below (taken from another thread): For the OCD types, this is from http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php/topic/8114-smozoma-hack-ideas-suggestionsthat I wrote a week or so ago. Note: Raph pointed out that #3 doesn't exist as a ROM hack, but rather is an online stats tweak. So I am requesting Smozoma add it as a ROM hack before Monday, please.
  2. What do you mean by "team name preference"? The team as it exists on ROM? If yes, Detroit!, baby!!
  3. Good to hear! It does seem like there are a lot of people moving on at the moment. (You, Freydey and Bassist spring to mind.) Wonder if this is a trend or coincidence?...
  4. Sorry to see you go, Labs, but I get it. If you don't have time, or it is more of a chore than fun, yeah, time to move on. Hopefully you will be back when you have more time and it will be fun again.
  5. Meant as a compliment to Tex, not a slight to you, Labs. (But I can see how it is a slight, sorry about that.)
  6. I need five zero teams to finish. EDM (Coach) PIT (JV) QUE (Sublime/Skip) LA (DT/CBK26) WPG (Pearate) -> scheduled for 3pm EST Sat Nov 12 Pearate shouldn't be a problem, but I think Sublime and DT are AWOL... they each have only played a couple games...
  7. Sweet! I wish we had 4 or 5 Tex's in waiting to replace slackers. Dallas currently has 2 games played. My bet is the next 38 get done in a week or so... Edit: Even sweeter is those 2 game were against me, which I won handily! Doubt I would even win one with Tex playing...
  8. I am fine using Discord, or whatever... FWIW AIM does not seem any worse than normal -- for me -- lately. But, I noticed you didn't mention the AIM Desktop Client. This is what I usually use. So maybe give that a shot? (I do dfind the Android app to be the buggiest way to use AIM...)
  9. I am wondering the same thing? In 2016, there must be an easier way to just capture the video as you play, right? Using an online streaming program like Twitch or something? Or just a total screen capture program? What is the easiest way to make watchable games, nowadays?
  10. It keeps the correct aspect ratio (or close to it), with black bars on the left and right.
  11. Atomic and I played last night, after we had trouble with Gens. It was awesome! Best part was no drops or desyncs! Overall, though things slowed down at times, in situation where Gens probably would have dropped, it was much more playable. Out-of-the-box it is slower, and more like the real thing! Also, I did find out how to go fullscreen! Which sure beats how it looks on Gens. Revised Pros and Cons: PROS 1. No crashes at all! 2. The lags still happen, but they feel different... play just short of slows down, no missing frames and sudden spikes... 3. Full screen is excellent (on my 1080p TV screen which I play on in my living room) 4. Looks more like a TV screen (sort of blurry, but I like it) 5. Game speed is slower, like real Genesis (I moved this from Cons) CONS 1. The feeling is slow and disconnected, like "playing underwater", but only when you play someone far away ** ** So only one con, which isn't a con when playing someone close. Bottom line, I wish everyone used this instead of Gens. It just seems like more polished software.
  12. BY the way, Pearate, here are our series stats so far: http://nhl94rocks.com/resultsSeries.php?seriesId=146
  13. Yeah Pearate, I was actually thinking -- due to no crashes -- to do our Classic games with Kega. (Well actually, try Gens first, then when it stutters and is crap, which is 90% likely, then use Kega. I do prefer the speed of Gens, but if it doesn't work prefer the stability of Kega over 5 Gens restarts.) One other thing: I don't understand the Playoff ROM? Why not just use the normal Classic ROM, and select the needed teams? Seems slightly faster (since you don't have to keep trying to get the right home team) and more accessible (since we have all downloaded the ROM already)... But, if there is a reason for the Playoff ROM, then we should add 99 minute overtimes. You and I almost had a game run out with the 10 minute overtime... None of this is a big deal, just giving some feedback since you seemed receptive to my comments above. Bottom line is, I appreciate your effort in putting this league together and trying new things.
  14. So Pearate and I played 4 of our games, and it is 2 to 2 in the series. Here are my thoughts: PROS 1. No crashes at all! 2. The lags still happen, but they feel different... play just short of slows down, no missing frames and sudden spikes... 3. Looks more like a TV screen (sort of blurry -- not really sure if this is a pro or con) CONS 1. The game is much slower 2. The feeling is slow and disconnected, like "playing underwater" 3. I can't get the window very big, so have to sit very close to monitor Before we used Fusion, we tried to play a game using Gens. It was horrible. We had to restart a couple times due to serious lag and erratic frames. Then when we thought we had a game going, it desynced. But even before it desynced, I was having to hit the CPR button repeatedly, and honestly it cost me some goals. (Sometimes you hit CPR and then forget to click on the GENs window, so for a moment or 2 have no control.) When it desynced we gave up. Sooo... long story short, because it does not crash, I do think that Fusion is better for playing someone far away (with a slow ping rate). But! The games are sort of novelty games.... they don't feel normal at all. Like I said, there is a slow motion feeling like playing underwater. I am going to do some exis with Atomicraven using Fusion and see how those go. He is local, so I am hoping the underwater feeling goes away... I will report back. One final PRO: It is good to try something new! (This community often seems "stuck in their ways"...)
  15. Excellent! See you then! We also have Classic B games... up to you if we do those, or these, or both... c u tmr!
  16. Ok Pearate, u around this weekend for our series? Sat 3pm EST good?
  17. Why not have every team play ever other team in a 7 game series? Then: 1. the two with the best record play each other in a 7 game series? (3 and 4 can play, too?), or 2. top 4 make playoffs, and 1 plays 4, 2 plays 3..
  18. Hey that looks really cool And nice and clean, like you said. (We will just "borrow" his look. ) We will definitely look at the source code!
  19. Yeah, if people want to use this tool for their 7 game series, it is a great way to record stats. If not, no biggie. But I know when I play games I will plug the game saves in because I want to make sure my the severity of my (received) beatings is on record.
  20. It only works with NHL94 ROM at the moment. And it works best with 7 game series. (Anything with less than 4 wins for one team will not show as completed.) It should work with gamesaves from Gens as well as Fusion. We have ideas about making it accept any ROM, as well as any series size (between one and infinity games, where you just indicate the games to include), but this is what we have as of today.
  21. Hey guys, I don't want to pollute this Fusion thread, so I made another thread for questions... http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php/topic/17775-new-exi-tracker/
  22. Yes, there might be a limit on the name length. We can change it, but for now, just create an account and call it "pear" or something short and still recognizable. I use "aqua" instead of "aqualizard". The confirmation code is the email link itself, so just click on it.
  23. We made a simple tool for tracking series. It is currently only for NHL94 ROM, and 7 game series. ("We" is Atomic and myself, though Atomic has done the Lion's share for sure. Chaos sent us the gamesave parser to start things off, too.) See: http://nhl94rocks.com This is Alpha, so there will be issues. Atomic and I made it to track our own games, and then thought, hey, let's open it up to the community. If you have questions about it, ask them here.
  24. Ok, is it generally accepted that using Hamachi is as good as directly connecting to each other without Hamachi (using old school client-server connection)? Is there proof? Or is this more of a hunch? (I ask because I play Atomic a lot, and we are having a ton of hiccups lately, and I am exploring other options besides Hamachi.)
