halifax
well....it's potentially a start at least. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2010/09/05/report_quebec/
smozoma
had me going for a second there but I think quebec city *will* get a team in the next 5-10 years... TSN did a week long report called "why not canada?" investigating the potential for teams in hamilton, winnipeg, toronto (2nd team), and quebec, and quebec got the best marks (B+).. http://www.tsn.ca/whynotcanada/ (friday / part 5 is quebec city) Toronto could easily support a second team, but the Leafs' owners will do what they can to prevent another team there... Snyder
Would love to see a team back in Quebec or Winnipeg. It always bugged me that they moved winnipeg which was at least a decent team who could make the playoffs, to Phoenix who missed the playoffs some many times. orangeblack92
Are they looking to move a team up there or are they trying to create a new franchise?
RedWingDevil
I read the news posted on TBF that they'll revive the Nordiques the same way it happened for the Cleveland Browns in the NFL. It's likely they'll call up players that played in Quebec for the team's talent pool or something to that effect. Part of the info is in this thread: http://www.thebreakaway.net/forums/showthread.php?t=40570&page=5 And a note about the move (It's in French, BTW): http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=532088

I didn't get that impression from RedWingDevil's links... If a team moves, they'd keep the roster... If it's expansion, wouldn't they just do a typical expansion draft like in the 90s? About the Browns, the guy only said "You don't want to have a beginning filled with agony like the Cleveland Browns had." They can't just steal all the players who played in the QMJHL can they :/
