  1. Figured I'd vent since it might also help me find what I was looking for, but I had a concept that would be assisted by limiting the number of selectable teams in NHLPA'93. Had some information on '92 and '94, and had a few spare minutes to see if that information would be transferable to the one in the middle. Turns out the option to limit the teams in the Playoffs was easy, Regular Game options were not as obvious. But then I come across some code that looks similar, but has 0003 instead of 0020. Figured I'd mess with it to see what it does and almost didn't notice this. Not obvious here, but there are actually four active penalties to that home team. So lets increment. Hypothesis appears confirmed, so obviously... Well clearly the next obvious step is to get excited... And then immediately feel disappointed. Guess the search continues.

  3. Hi everyone! As the saying goes, long time lurker, first time poster here. I've known this site for a while, but after watching the doc about NHL 94 on youtube, and seeing how welcoming the community was/is, I wanted to say hi and, hopefully, participate a bit in here. I don't have, sadly, any childhood stories related to this game, as I was born just a year later of the release of this game, and in a country where ice hockey isn't popular, but my first contact with the series was with what most people would call the lesser NHL title: NHLPA '93 for the SNES (on a old japanese SFC that someone gave to my father and that's still on my console drawer along with a PS4). I was 8, though, and didn't notice very much the flaws, and it was a ton of fun! A few years ago, when I discovered that there were even better games than 93, I started searching local markets and found NHL 95 for the SNES, and while it wasn't 94, I also had a blast playing (the game is a little too fast to my taste, though). One day, two years ago, I found almost by coincidence someone that was selling a copy of NHL 94, I bought it and since then I've been hooked to the game since then. I love how simple the control scheme is, yet it is also so deceivingly hard to master! As a south american, I imagine it may be quite hard to participate in online gaming (due to latency/ping), but I'd love to join in, at least, in the discussion about this game, techniques, etc! Thanks everybody for reading, and I apologize in advance for my quite horrible english!

  4. Hey all, As I've been working on my new ROM hack, I've been focusing on adding my own flair to the game. I want it to look like '94, but I also want to really make it mine and bring out a ton of features that nobody else has really done before. As I was doing that I decided I would play with the in-game banners a little bit. You guys may have already seen my banner work in Skip's International ROM, but I just wanted to share a few of the designs I've done in hopes that some of you guys will like the idea and pick it up, because I'd love to see this in some other hacks, I think it adds a lot of character. Here are some of my designs: A simple slash on each side with inverted colors Double stripes on each ens, as a nod to the team's jerseys in real life. One of my personal favorites, a habs style stripe running through the middle. Not too flashy, but unique and a good way to add more than 2 colors. This one is a little ugly in my opinion, for good reason as these guys are our biggest high school rivals, but it's still a neat design and a reference to this team's jerseys. A simple one just for you buds, with one red pipe separating the black and grey. Pretty cool color scheme and also a "spotlight" pattern as I call it. This one's cool, especially since this team is called the Admirals. Very fitting. Last but not least, a sharp looking checkerboard pattern. Hopefully this is something fresh and new for you guys, as I said it's something I'd love to see more people experiment with in the future!

  6. Hey Beavers, the first tile for the Stanley Cup is located at $F30A2. To display it properly in Tile Molester you need to set Block Size to custom. Columns 1, Rows 4.

  7. We are very excited to announce the dates and location for the King of 94-8 at Freeplay Toronto! An Arcade bar which has a lot of great tiles including some hockey ones like “Hit the ice” and “NHL 2 on 2 challenge.” It also has a Chexx Bubble hockey table. The owner is a big fan of nhl’94 and played many of the Sega hockey titles growing up. We think it’ll be a great fit. http://www.freeplaytoronto.com/#/ Tentative schedule Friday night - King of Griffey (Ken Griffey Jr. Presents MLB - SNES) At the hotel suite (location to be determined) King of Jam (NBA JAM Tournament Edition - SNES).
