  1. Scribe99, I'm totally with you on NHL94 being the game to always come back to. I agree that the user records was a nice touch to the game. Matter of fact, we're going to have a really cool records section of nhl94.com soon, where anyone can send their records to me. Then they will hold that record until someone beats them. I'll let everyone know when that's finally up and running. -Evan
  2. Don, That video again talks about how they played alot of NHL94 at EA to try to get some of that feel into the new game. Personally, I still doubt that nhl2k6 will be alot of fun, but this is still a step in the right direction. Good find! -Evan
  3. Hey Chris, Welcome to the forum, whats new? -Evan
  4. Since they are talking about releasing nhl06 with nhl94 included on PS2, its very possible that they will release the game on PSP. What will be interesting is if nhl94 is online capable or not in this release. EA listened to the users for adding nhl94 to the next release, but the bigger feature would have been making this game editable. We can only hope...
  5. Yes 5 minute periods is probably best and manual goalie can be up to the player. Doesn't matter to me whether someone wants to use it or not. btw... Tickenest and I played a couple games of 94 online... first game my goalie disappears for a couple minutes... what other game does that??? I love it! Does anyone on this forum currently have nhl94 genesis version leagues going on right now?
  6. Hey Everyone, So my hosting company can't do a kaillera server. So, lets get some ideas going here for a league. The main items to iron out are what server(s) do we use, and what the rules would be. We can use different servers at different times (home and away games can be servers with better ping for the home team or something). All of the standings, info, etc will be taken care of through nhl94online.com (which will be where the leagues reside.) Throw out the ideas and chime in if you wanna play online too! I will start by saying the leauges would be played on the Genesis version, and using either Gens or Gens+. -Evan
  7. Swos, You ask a good question as usual. Of course we don't need our own server to play games and run leagues. I am simply going to test having a server to see what kind of ping we get for everyone. The nice thing is that I'll have control over the kaillera server, restarting it. It's nice to also have a server simply dedicated to NHL94. We'll see how it works, my hosting company is strange sometimes with communication. I'm still waiting for them to give me the green light. If this server doesn't work out, we can easily use other servers and still run leagues on here. I'm all for that. -Evan
  8. Mack, this is a great find. This is a step in the right direction. The guy in the video mentioned that he added this because it was the number one request from going on forums and such. Just the fact they've added this into the game is huge. Someone's listening to us. -Evan
  9. Wboy, First of all, I want to say that your hard work and devotion to your editor is priceless. To see you make new finds and achievements is awesome. Your latest find is really amazing. I knew you would have to add the swapping of free bytes throughout the rom to make your editor worth-while. This editor is going to make things so much easier (and I won't have to keep making tutorials on how to edit the game haha j/k). Do you enjoy playing this game as much as you do editing it? Again, I just wanted to say that it's so cool to see that you're working on this project again. Can't wait for a release to test out! -Evan
  10. Well kgman... once the online play is up.. we'll start playing exhibition games on there to see how the server runs for everyone. After playing some test games, we can then start official leagues here. Winners of the leagues can certainly get recognition on this website. But I don't think it's gonna be easy to get that recognition. I will also have instructions how to play online for anyone who hasn't done it before. Now if my hosting company would get moving...
  11. All-In-Wonder 9600, 128 MB, AGP - dual monitor setup
  12. It's funny Don mentioned the ATI All-In-Wonder... thats what I have. I'll warn you, it seems everytime I install newer drivers something weird happens. Right now my Genesis plays with a lag through the computer. I don't choose to install the newer drivers, but sometimes video stuff gets messed up and you don't have a choice. Also it seems like the newer versions of the actual videocard are "less supportive" for the Genesis.
  13. Which system did this all happen on?
  14. This is excellent, great work wboy! I'm glad to see someone is active in nhl94 editing right now. I will certainly add any new finds to the editing pages. -Evan
  15. I had a 2nd wave of bad luck this past week. My drive that holds all of my nhl94 data has decided to crap out on me. It has a bad block and won't spin correctly anymore. I haven't given up on it yet, but can't access the data for now. Anyway, I don't have any screenshots that people have sent me besides what is on this website. I'm asking everyone to send me screenshots and/or video of any possible records. Records means a high goal game, a 10 goal game for 1 player, etc. Your name will be next to your Record on the nhl94.com website, so also let me know the name you would like to use. (I would use your forum nickname as a default.) You can send them to admin@nhl94.com. Any questions ask!
  16. Just wanted to let you guys know that I have been talking to my hosting company about running a kaillera server (which is how you play Gens emu games online vs other people). They have agreed to host it, so once that's all setup, we can have exhibition games and official nhl94.com leagues. The Gens emulator can be used to play the Genesis and Sega CD versions of the game only though. I'll let everyone know when it's all setup so we can play some test games. -Evan
  17. What if I just burned a CD for you and mailed it to you? The question is, what ISO would I burn? -Evan
  18. McRae I currently use Adobe Premiere to edit and compress the videos. I'm looking to get my hands on the latest version of it, but posting something like that on here isn't a good idea. I can recommend to search on file sharing apps though.
  19. Great find wboy, always cool to hear about more ways to modify the game. I think McRae was asking about the playoff matches in another post.
  20. hey Wopap, I have a question for you... have you tried playing a real (authentic) game cd on your SegaCD? You probably don't have one, I would try that too to make sure the SegaCD works. -Evan
  21. I prefer the Genesis and Sega CD versions over SNES. After playing this game for years, I have much more fun playing the Sega versions of the game. I have never played the SNES version with more than 2 people, so I can't say how much fun it is with like a 2 on 2 game. There's no right answer to this question though. They are all great games.
  22. At a quick glance the files seem to be correct. I happen to use Memorex CDs that are just CD-R. I'm not sure if I've ever tried using a CD-RW. I'm sure most brands are fine. If I notice anything from your screenshots I'll let you know. -Evan
  23. Kgman, You can probably play NHL94 (Genesis or SNES) on just about any console with the mods and software that are out there. I actually noticed someone just posted about playing NHL94 2 on 2 on his xbox with his friends as a drinking game. -Evan
  24. Hey guys, So for anyone who was interested in getting a tototek flash card which allows you to copy bin files onto a cartridge and play them on your Genesis console, here's what I had to do: After purchasing and receiving the 32M card, and cables from tototek I had to use the software Dreamwriter v.1.6. Version 2.1 did NOT work and that was one of the things messing me up. The other important thing to do is change your bios setting for the parallel port to EPP. That's it, I did a test today and the game wrote to the cartridge, and played perfectly. -Evan
  25. Does everyone use Gens with the Kaillera client to play the Genesis version? I played a test game last night with a friend in Detroit using my computer as the server. The guy in Detroit was pinging at about 54, which isn't bad at all. At the very least we should play some exhibition games with each other just for fun. I want to have a permanent server for NHL94.com, just need a place to run the kaillera server. Anyone have suggestions where to have the server hosted? Once I get a permanent server for the community, then we can start having leagues here. I know we can use other kaillera servers out there, but I'd like to host it myself so I can reset the kaillera server when I like, change parameters, just generally control the server so there's little to no problems. -Evan
