  1. Thanks! FYI, trade deadline updates are fully ready to go, updated ROM will be released any day now.
  2. That's not enough! We demand more asbestos downloads! Will jump on Twitter and do the same. Folks, consider plugging your favourite ROMs in your circles. There's been so many brilliant releases this season, and these hard working guys are too earnest to ask you for something so self-serving.
  3. It also looks like he tried to more accurately model the translucent nature of those logos, as their colours blend with the ice colour? Jut beautiful work @Drezz. Truly inspiring.
  4. YES!!!!!!!!! So psyched to check this out. It totally transports me back to another time. I love it already.
  5. Further to Smoz’s advice, I usually rely on the “Go To” function in my Hex Editor, just typing in 0x040E, and then looking around at where it sent me, to make sure it the right place.
  6. Thanks guys. I’m both relieved and depressed to hear that there doesn’t seem to be any better way of doing it. This still leaves me thinking about a couple things… What are these headers? Other than being 10 bytes, I have no concept as to what they are, if they can be safely moved, etc.
  7. If you post the ROM in question, I can take a quick look. Can’t promise any results, but you never know, a second set of eyes sometimes helps.
  8. I have a question that I'm not sure where to ask, but this seems as good a place as any. I've been importing player photos, one at a time, in TileMolester. Does anyone ahve any tricks or tips to make this easier? I was thinking, I ought to be able to export all the images as a contact sheet, and import that one contact sheet. Would jsut need to setup the contact sheet and pointers to both work in harmony towards this goal. But perhaps someone else has already done this. Or something better!
  9. Looking at the PS4 PKG, I couldn’t see any evidence to suggest they had a decomp going. I mean they may have, but the original ROM was “mostly untouched” in the PKG, and it appears the wrapper injects some new data, and makes some on the fly substitutions at the presentation level. So much more can be done when one doesn’t insist on making it run on original hardware! The idea of a larger project that could benefit many appeals, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t have the expertise to contribute much. Re: “Mostly untouched.” I need to make a note to try and figure out what was changed, in case it is of use to us.
  10. The… "Code" …tag can help clean this kind of thing up a little.
  11. @Bobr9988 You just reminded me… did you guy see Kochetkov Friday night? This guy just makes me smile.
  12. @von Ozbourne It was exactly what @Jkline3 said. @Jkline3 Have I told you today that you're beautiful? To the community at large, I was thinking of starting a new post, clarifying some of this stuff, and offering a how-too on the Rink & Sideboards. I don't like the idea of starting redundant threads, but I do think it would be useful to consolidate and expand on what we know about this stuff. Well, useful for me, so I don't forget!
  13. On an unrelated note, doing the lines for the Rangers last night was gut-wrenching. It was way too easy, the new lines snapped together in obvious ways, and left a disgustingly good lineup on paper. Wherever the @Sauce is right now, I hope he's feeling good!
  14. LOL - Yup, I know what you're going to ask. I could have predicted it the moment I saw the patch. I tried it out, didn't work on my ROM. I gave up pretty quickly after that, and moved it to my every growing "Icebox" of potential projects to tackle (which still includes Sega CD audio, haven't given up on that, just only so many hours in the day). I was hoping that if I just waited a bit, revisions would be made that would get it working better for me. If you (or anyone) knows anything about, or can help getting it working, I would love to!
  15. This has been completely insane. I’m seriously losing my mind trying to keep up, and refactor teams lines!
  16. OK, one question remains for me. I re-did the trapezoid line, and now at the bottom of the ice where the trapezoid is overlapped with the glass, players skate behind the trapezoid line, instead of on top of it. Clearly I am doing something wrong, which means I am not understanding something. Can anyone help me out?
  17. I don't know why, but it annoys me more that they downloaded my packaging, and used it without even bothering to ask me, then that they are putting my ROM hack on a cart. I mean, it's absurd, I can't possibly have any claims of ownership to that box art, yet something about it rubs me the wrong way. Maybe I'm annoyed with myself because I didn't think to put a credit or watermark on the case to deter or diminish commercial use? I dunno. Probably just post-hoc rationalization of the irrational.
  18. - Toned down the AA as per @von Ozbourne - tweaked the smallest "A" and "R" characters. - Revised the tiny little guy. I know he should probably take his stinky hockey gloves off while handling the cup, but for now I'm going to leave him in the oven mitts.
  19. THANKYOU! Timely too, I’m refactoring those notes for brevity, combing items etc.
  20. Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I wanted to combine the original logo, but more nicely anti aliased, with the icon from Rewind, bit updated for current cup winner. I thought that those design points kind of establish the tone for the concept of my ROM, which is iterative instead of innovative. I’ll be testing the anti-aliasing software on my TV. I actually had it even blurrier looking earlier.
  21. So, I went to go adjust the title screens to put some kind of "do not pay money for this" / "visit nhl94.com" kind of note, and I got totally sidetracked, and hours later this is what I ended up with. I'm unreasonably proud of simplifying the Avs logo to a handle of pixels. p.s. Yeah, I know I got the socks wrong. It's a first draft. I'll fix it up before I put it in the ROM.
  22. I know what you mean! I'm fixated on adjusting the stanchions, meanwhile he's knocked down the entire arena twice over, and put up three more in its place. It's been wild to watch this project! @seamor This is awesome!
  23. "Rent seekers" and other similar entities infuriate me as well.
  24. Totally! Makes it sound like a rare collectible. I always thought the "you got scammed" kinda messages were kinda harsh, but I've always seemed to notice them, so they work I guess! Last I checked, the Ebay sales were up to two. Perhaps changing a title screen might be a bit of an overreaction, but I still like the idea of making a community credit / URL more prominent, because, well, shouldn't our ROMs be an advertisement for this site?
