And that's that for Montreal. Frankly, it's kind of a miracle that I made it this far, beating the mighty Blackhawks and Carse in 7 games and then pushing VC and the only slightly less mighty Sabres to 7 games. Montreal just couldn't compete with Buffalo's checking (and checking absorption) power, and VC makes you feel like you're playing a man down all the time. Also, his goalkeeper control is excellent. So GGs, and good luck in the finals.

At Montreal: Montreal 2, Buffalo 5 Buffalo leads the series, 2 games to 1. VC doesn't feel the need to pad his post count with regular updates...but I do! Goal #4 by Buffalo was a typical Buffalo goal, with Lafontaine slamming into the keeper but not even losing the puck and finishing the play. Goals 1-3 and 5, however...let's just say I got served. GG. One more loss for Montreal and I'll have him right where I want him.

Well, at least you actually bothered to finish this post instead of getting to the end and then quitting instead of posting it because you were unhappy with the style and diction.

Well, I have to say, strictly from a retro/nostalgist viewpoint, I'm rooting for a Tickenest-HABS final that would harken back to the halcyon days of the original Classic league back in the Fall of 2005. Classic League Fall 2005 Yes, HABS, I'm still bitter about losing that conference final to you. Well, ok, not really bitter, just kinda disappointed since I think I should have been able to close you out and I think I would have gone on to win the whole thing had I done so. The other reason that I'll be rooting for a Tickenest-HABS final is that it would be a final that involves Tickenest, a development which would be favorable to me, Tickenest, on account of the fact that I, Tickenest, would be in the final. On the other hand, we'd get an interesting "rematch" of last season's Gens A finals if jrod and I meet, because last season ericanthony beat juice maker...and it was Montreal over Detroit. I'd favor this scenario as well as it would feature me, Tickenest, in the finals. I'd especially enjoy the part where Montreal would defeat Detroit (in a sweep, no less.) A non-Montreal matchup in the finals? Not so favorable to me.

dmac hasn't been around this weekend, so I think that the likely scenario is the one in which I don't play my last game.

I was playing BeefJerky for the Capitalism league yesterday and we had an odd occurence. I made a pass for a one-timer, but the pass became one of those zooming passes that goes really fast (you know what I mean.) Anyway, it actually left the ice, bounced off the left side of the arena, and came back onto the ice. I've posted a video on YouTube:

My guess is that the master kaillera server, the one that keeps track of all the kaillera servers out there, is down. The servers, however, are still there, so if you have the IPs you can still connect. Or use p2p if you prearrange with your opponent.

How about, say, in a standoff at the O.K. Corral? Would you believe in the shootout then? Or perhaps the AT&T Long Distance 3-Point Shootout? What about if it were communists vs. capitalists in a standoff over, say, a valuable piece of military hardware? Would the shootout be appropriate then, or would you prefer calm and subtle discourse full of nuance?
