  7. I believe smozoma is working on a webpage that will allow a single game upload of a savestate that we can use to then copy/paste much faster. However, until that becomes available, we're playing the games and typing it up manually.
  8. For those who may not know, Bill Simmons is a popular ESPN sports columnist. He has, at the time of this posting, over 1.4M twitter followers. Anyway, today he posted an NHL'94 video on Facebook, so I thought I'd share. Perhaps the people who comment will eventually start playing online! http://www.facebook.com/billsimmons/posts/134470989962978

  11. Attached is a buddy list file (.blt) of the 2011 League by division. If you want, save the file, and you import it into AIM. It has the correct AIM names for the members of the league, sorted by division. Just thought I'd post as some people may find it useful and I do this for myself anyway. Not sure how other people organize their AIM, but I find it useful to group by league/division. To import, go to Options --> AIM --> Load Buddy List (select the attached file) FYI, it won't replace your other categories -- meaning, if you already have a person listed in AIM, it will just list them twice. For example, I have Comeback King listed under GENS B Classic and 2011 Central (shows up twice). UPDATE: Erm, I don't see the attachment (perhaps we're not allowed to attach certain files?), so here's a link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10816388/GENS%202011.blt

  14. It'd be great to have the savestates. I don't fully understand how it works, but I assume(maybe naively) that extracting the data from the savestate can be automated? I don't mean automatically to a website like Blitz or GDL, but to have the basic stats extracted out to a spreadsheet? Also, if we archive the savestates, we'll have a good history and if this league continues on, and some us learn how to automate the stats, we can always go back and update the database.
  15. To DAL(KingRaph): Jimmy Carson To DET (sebe): Benoit Hogue
  16. A driver is just a set of instructions a computer uses to understand how to run a piece of hardware. For example, when you initially attach a printer to your computer, your computer won't know how it works until it gets instructions, a.k.a. the driver. Driver version updates are dependent on each piece of hardware. So, you have a driver for every piece of hardware attached to your computer, each with it's own version. Having said that, I don't believe there is a specific driver for NHL'94, or the emulator as they are both software.
  17. Chicago wins an epic 7 game series against Dallas to move on to the GENS B-2 finals. Home was the place to be in this series as the teams went winless on the road. Roenick & Co. shot lights out in game one, putting up 8 goals and cruising to a relatively easy 8-5 victory. Game two was a little tighter, with the action tied 2-2 late in the 3rd. Chicago erupted with two quick goals and prevailed to a 4-2 victory. Back in Dallas, Russ Courtnall woke up and starting finding the back of the net. Dallas finally started to find an answer for Belfour, putting up 6 goals. The held the lead most of the game and finished with a 6-4 victory. Game 4 was an unexpected defensive battle. Both teams clamped down on defense while Belfour and Casey made some great saves. Some missed open nets and some wacky shooting (I believe this was the game when Roenick shattered the glass from point blank) didn't help. Dallas went up 1-0 early in the 3rd and it basically stayed that way until a last minute breakaway by Modano. Now that the series was tied 2-2, the teams went back to Chicago. Late in the 3rd period, Chicago was up 3-2 with a little over a minute left. PENALTY SHOT DALLAS! Courtnall danced around like a fool, trying to get Belfour to move, and ultimately hit the POST! A momentum changer for sure! Chicago came back with a quick goal to put it away at 4-2. Back home in Dallas, the Stars were up 3-2 late in the 3rd. Chicago pulls the goalie with a faceoff deep in Dallas territory. Roenick gets the puck and the Dallas' collective sphincter tightens up! As Roenick begins to juke and deke in the center, a timely hold by Tinordi causes JR to lose the puck. Quick outlet to Modano and an empty net goal seals the game, 4-2. And here we go! GAME 7! Tensions were high in this win-or-go home game. A Roenick slapper from the blue line ripped through Casey's legs in the first minute and another quick goal followed for a quick Chicago 2-0 lead. A Dallas timeout followed by a late period Dallas goal by Courtnall saw the 1st period end 2-1 CHI. Dallas played hard in the 2nd, controlling the puck, trying to avoid crushing hits, and managed to get the lead 3-2 after the 2nd. The Blackhawks came back early in the 3rd period to tie it up 3-3. The flow of the game swung back and forth and ended on a play that encapsulated the series. Courtnall busts through with a scoring chance, dekes to his backhand over Belfour and hits the post! (his favorite target). Chicago comes roaring back and scores with a little under a minute left to go up 4-3. The last minute felt like it lasted forever for Chicago, and ultimately went too quickly for the Stars. Final 4-3. Both coaches finally exhale. Great games, great series. Don't know if I remembered it quite correctly, but it was definitely exciting! Good luck to Comeback and Chicago in the GENS B-2 Finals!
  18. Tried to get exhibitions against Eggink444 last night and we had two quick desynchs within the first minute of the game. We used server, both had low ping (<50). I was thinking one issue may be that I was using a 3-button controller and he was using 6. I have a 6, but was too lazy to switch. It was also late, so we decided to try again another time. Anyway, just wanted to throw this out there as something to look for that MAY cause desynchs. I'll make sure to always have my 6-button when playing this ROM.
  19. Please put me on the list! Thank you.
  20. If you need one more, ill play. AIM: KingRaph. Gens B2, dibs on the Rangers, if possible.
  21. Will the draft order reverse in the non-protect (even) rounds, or will I be picking last in each of those even rounds?
  22. USA B I'm usually available from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am (EST) M-F. Weekends are inconsistent to list, but I try to accommodate times for other players. Great idea for the thread -- hope to get some B vs B summit happening!
  23. I would think the majority of noobs who join would consider themselves A, or B at worst. It's not until you get RAPON by some A leaguer that you realize you've got some catching up to do. Thanks again Halifax (and Evan and all moderators!) -- we know you're doing a great job and appreciate all the thought and work you put in!
