  1. Ed, I agree with the rest of these guys, you are really good about responding to IMs. Thanks for keeping everyone in the loop. I'm confident that with enough studying over the next week or so, you'll be able to ace that synchronized swimming course. ;-) Good luck with finals!
  2. Scottie, great job man! You've really stuck it out here and I think it's safe to say that the community is proud of your dedication and your increasing improvement. One of the great figures, if not the greatest figure of the modern era put it best... "You're never a loser until you quit trying" -Mike Ditka
  3. Not acceptable. You're friend had every right to act in the way he did. Until this behavior changes, you will be referred to as Princess Badgette.
  4. I want to thank KingsCupRun93. He's only had the team for a couple days and has managed to fit in 14 games! Picking up someone else's team, especially in a draft league, is always a tough transition. Thank you for your steadfast dedication and keep up the good work.
  5. Man, mountain dew slurpees are awesome for any occasion. However, back to my original point.... when you dive with the goalie he takes on the shape of a burrito. When you're stopping a breakaway and you choose to dive out there with your goalie... the flying burrito came into existence. It's not like someone planned that name out... someone just said it one day and it stuck. There's not much more I can say about it.... but then again, I guess that's what lingo is all about.
  6. Scottie, you wiley bastard, I told you that you were getting better. Keep it up... I smell a win for you soon!
  7. That is a great idea. I would be very interested in hearing the next step.
  8. Check out ebay... I bought a pair of 6-button gens pads for $10.
  9. if you need an adapter cord for your gens pad... you can pick one up on www.retrousb.com. The adapter cord cost me about $20. Then it's just plug in the pad into your USB, dl the emulator, configure your pad on the emulator, dl the rom and you're ready to go. Good luck!
  10. I'm sure this isn't the first chat you've had with Habs before. I'm sure he's a little frustrated like myself b/c you don't ever return an IM when you're online. At least we know you're typically available after 6 but not when "football>hockey". ;-) I have a suggestion though... maybe on the draft site on the tab with the coaches listed with their teams, we could add a column that says when the best time for each coach is to play. So at least when we're looking for guys to play, we'll have an idea when it might be best to find those coaches. Dmitri, is this easy to add? For everyone else, what are your thoughts? Good idea? Waste of time?
  11. You obviously can't be that reliable if you won't finish something you've started so please don't proclaim yourself as one of the most reliable in the community. And true, I am someone who just joined this community and I'm not worried about losing any respect, especially by coming down on someone for quitting for no valid reason. I will earn my respect by playing my schedule and following through. You let down a group of guys when you quit a league. And the thing is, you haven't apologized once for resigning in the fashion that you did. And you tell me that I risk losing respect from the community?
  12. I don't think that the reasons you've listed are valid at all. With a little extra effort, it shouldn't be an issue to schedule games. You can get ahold of players emails and send a schedule of the times that would work for you to play. Put the ball in their court. With just being slightly more proactive, you could make it work. But instead, you decide to quit and not put forth any effort. It's your responsibility to finish something that you signed up for. So no Mr. Hurray, you won't be getting an apology from me. Why should I apologize b/c you can't fulfill a commitment to a group of people? In fact, the only apology that needs to be made is you apologizing to the league for quitting.
  13. If anyone else were to vote this player, I would act like they were crazy. However, in your case, I've never had a tougher time playing against someone when you have Bradley in your lineup.
  14. Mike, honestly, don't be a jerk about this. I didn't appreciate the attitude yesterday and I don't appreciate it in this thread. if you're displayed as online, don't get upset if people are looking for you to get a game in, especially when you're in a league. If it's such a distraction while you're working, then maybe you should log yourself off AIM or set your status to away. Of course, if you don't want to be bugged for anything before a certain time, then why do you leave yourself logged on all day?
  15. Are you serious??? I hope you were kidding about bedtime. Why would get in a 2on2 league to begin with? Did this come as a surprise that you needed 4 people to play 2on2? Why don't you ask for emails of these players and see if you can coordinate your games. It's really weak that you made a commitment to a league and now you're resigning before it's over. Grow up.
  16. Wait a second, there is an NHL94 for SNES? Wow, who would have though, what a bizarre world we live in.
  17. I don't really understand how this can even be a debate unless you're just the kind of person who likes to argue simply for arguments sake. I think clockwise, in his most eloquent way, stated it best. JR is The apocolyptic force of 94. And my computer almost blew up when someone posted they thought Lemieux was a contender for this title.
  18. Typically, I call a couple Haitian prostitutes to come rub peanut butter on my testicles while I talk about what went wrong with my garden gnome collection. They're such great listeners.
  19. I thought the name of this thread was "Who's actually the best team to play with?"... With that said, why is Hrudey's name anywhere on this thread? Lets be honest, he's terrible.
  20. In my circle, when you score with Svoboda, you turn to the guy next to you and yell "Savvvvvy Boda!". And when you switch to manual goalie and nail the breakaway guy with a dive, we call that the "flying burrito".
  21. Wish i knew a fix for you bhf. But I do prefer this version over the 32. For some reason, I'm not getting any sound with the 32 and maximizing the screen makes elongates (sp?) my players. Anyone else having a problem with that version?
  22. I didn't know the 2on2 champ had been decided yet. I'm sure before it's over and done with, habs and I will have something to say about that self proclaimed title.
  23. Also, I had another suggestion for this league... does anyone think it would be worth it to have an All-Star game half way through the season? One suggestion is we could have the top 2 coaches from each conference face off in a 2on2 game at the midpoint in the season or even at the end of the season. Obviously, the teams would be based on the top players from each conference. Is that too much work? Is it even worth it? I don't know, just a suggestion that we might want to build off of and it could be fun to include season after season. Please share your thoughts.
  24. Does anyone know of a way to record players who are injured and the players that made the injury happen? That would be a great stat to keep track of to have a biggest badass and biggest pussy award at the end of the season. My friend and I use to keep track of these with a point system. Gamer in the 1st pd = 4pts Gamer in the 2nd pd = 3pts Gamer in the 3rd pd = 2pts Out for period = 1pt Of course, there were 2 columns... one for who did the injury and another for who was injured. The other part to keeping these stats was if a player was injured too much in one season, you weren't allowed to start him until the playoffs began... poor Pittsburgh as you can imagine. In this case, if a player racked up the equivalent of 6 periods of injurees, he was out until the playoffs. A gamer only counted for 2 periods of missed play no matter what the period he was knocked out in. Please keep in mind our teams only played 15 games each in our seasons but we played with 5 teams per player. I don't know if these stats can be recorded but it would be something cool to track if we could. Any thoughts out there?
