  1. SSiG, do you know how I know you're gay? .......oh wait, I'M SSiG. f***!
  2. Sell it? I'm sure someone's gonna pay tons for those rare novelties
  3. I didn't pick #1 in the draft, and I had the least points out of all the teams last season
  4. Just a suggestion, I'm really not sure if I wanna do this, since I have a sim baseball league to attend to, and no experience whatsoever running a console league. - League Name: NHL Retro - Console: Gens - League/Conf/Div Setup: 3 seperate groupings (A, B, C...10-15 teams in each, all teams selectable in each grouping) - Playoff Setup: Top 6 make it, top 2 teams get 1st round byes. - What ROM to use: NHL '91 by Clockwise (NHL 94 mod) - In-Game Settings: 7 mins, Penalties on (No offsides), no line changes) - How to draft teams: Sign up. - Automatically would get an area on the forums: Your choice, really depends on how the thing takes off - You would assign your own "admin team": I'd take Hartford, one of the worst, and place myself in the C division. SSiG Edit: I misunderstood the question. No, I'd take care of everything I could myself. - Decide to draft and/or trade players: No trades or draft, what you have is what you get. - Uploading stats: I really don't know. If someone would make a game extractor compatible with the '91 mod, that could work. Something else: At the end of the season, I'd want to run an offseason tournament with all the owners in the league. Single elimination, FA Cup style (England soccer tournament)
  5. Happier Times in New Jersey Thanks to kgman There's a new sheriff in town, and he in his short time in the GDL has brought more wins than this analyst has in his lifetime! When kgman took over for the disgraced SSiG, the entire league shook in their loafers, because quite frankly...when kgman enters the rink, everyone else goes the other way. A 9-7 record in his first 16 has Devils fans on cloud nine again for the first time since they got their first GDL win last season, albeit it was around 20 games in. Doug Gilmour has since dropped his spokesperson image, and has gone back to being the fast-paced, action-oriented superstar that the Devils and coach kgman can be proud of. "I used to plug beer, but that was because coach Delgado asked us to be characters. Now that kgman is around, I can be myself again and help this team win" Gilmour said of the current situation. Under kgman, Jon Casey has seen his performance go up big time as well. "We're in a whole new groove with our new coach. I loved coach Delgado, but we weren't a cohesive unit. We were doing our own things, and I really think that's what threw us into such a terrible slump" Casey told me as he left the practice facility. Obviously I think these guys were sucking up to me because I now hold a position of some importance in the league, and that I can rip these guys in the headlines if I feel the need to. Nonetheless, kgman has the Devils in a New JERSEY state of mind. Let's see where that takes them. KGman Raises his Fist in Victory
  6. *takes note* You better hope I don't have to write a "Carse Chokes" article
  7. The ENTIRE series is up for viewing. You can find the series at... www.livevideo.com/Magus978
  8. The SSiG didn't give it away, did it?
  9. If I play as New Jersey, the controller's going across the room if I lose, and I'm not going to chance that I'll probably start that series tomorrow, since I wanna get the rest of Hartford/Montreal up.
  10. The Hartford/Montreal series is OVER. It went the full 7 games. I am not going to spoil the ending, you'll just have to wait until they're all uploaded. NY Rangers/New Jersey is next. I'm going to put my loyalty aside, break the rules I already set aside for this, and play as the Rangers.
  11. Yeah. I was trying to capture the feeling of 4 fat guys playing hockey. Guess I failed
  12. Thank you, and I am aware of the sound de-sync. I don't know how to fix that, so from now on I'm not doing the game sound. I'm thinking I could do just as well to replace what you'd normally hear with music that (hopefully) takes on the mood of the game. The NES one? I was trying to be 100% silly. Sorry you didn't like it.
  13. That ROM can be found at www.nhl91.com
  14. I just finished playing games 3 and 4. I'm not going to give away the end results, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Game 3 was another thriller, even with Kay Whitmore in net ...and in Game 4, one of the goalies (Patrick Roy or Peter Sidorkiewicz) gets pwned big time with shots. STAY TUNED FOR MORE!
  15. The videos are up! Whalers @ Canadiens - Game 1 Whalers @ Canadiens - Game 2 Note: For some reason, the game sound came out and I didn't notice it. Oh well, deal with it
  16. I have nothing more to say to you. Stop trying to ruin the fun I'm trying to have. I've had enough negativity thrown at me for one day. Anyway, Game 2 is in the books. I won't spoil it for you, because it was VERY exciting for me to play! Games 3 and 4 will be later tonight. I'm gonna try to get Games 1 and 2 uploaded for you now.
  17. LOL @ your logic. If you're going to have that attitude, then I suggest you and everyone else who thinks the same to leave this thread now and get your head examined. Look at my performances in the draft league, and stop sippin' the damn Kool-Aid. I have trouble beating the CPU at times. You guys wanna come in and ruin one of the few times I've had fun around here? Try it, I have a feeling you'll be met with very strong resistance. Anyway, Game 1 of Hartford/Montreal is done. Habs win 3-1 and take a 1-0 lead in the best of 7 series. Game 2 will start momentarily, and I hope to have that video up later as well. For those with the intelligence to know that I'm not going to win EVERY series, the video will be uploaded in about an hour. I have to edit it to add background music, since the last NHL 94 video I did, didn't have any sound. Friggin' Gens emulator.
  18. I am taking up a massive job tonight. I am going to re-create the 1991-92 Stanley Cup playoffs, playing as the bottom seeds and hoping I don't get my ass kicked. I will be using the 91' Mod. Adams Division #1 Montreal (2) v. #4 Hartford (0) #2 Boston v. #3 Buffalo Patrick Division #1 NY Rangers v. #4 New Jersey #2 Washington v. #3 Pittsburgh Norris Division #1 Detroit v. #4 Minnesota #2 Chicago v. #3 St. Louis Smythe Division #1 Vancouver v. #4 Winnipeg #2 Los Angeles v. #3 Edmonton I will be playing Best of 7 games one series at a time, starting with the #1 v. #4 Matchup in the Adams Division. I will be uploading all the videos to my page on LiveVideo. I'll link every video I make. Rules 7 Minute Periods Manual Goalie Penalties on (No offsides) No line changes
  19. Who died and made you the voice of reason? I'm done. That's all. Don't like it, too bad. I'm not the one who should catch any heat for it. I have just 3 simple words for those who question my quitting, but I'm not going to say them out of respect I have for dmitri, this league, and this forum in general. Geez, sometimes you people never cease to amaze me.
  20. We've Seen the Last of This Man...For Now He finally cracked. Tom Delgado resigned as Devils head coach and GM late last night after a meeting with owner John McMullen (RIP IRL). Apparantly he was about to be fired within the week, so McMullen gave Delgado one last chance to step down and save face. Delgado accepted, and walked away from his "dream job" with a fraction of the dignity he had when he took the job. "This is a rather disappointing day for me. I was hoping I could last longer around here, but when you go 8-56 in 64 games as team coach/GM, you can't expect to last long at all. Mr. McMullen made the right decision in firing me, and I wish the Devils nothing but the best under a new coach and GM. I harbor no ill-will towards Mr. McMullen, and hope that I may work for him again at some other time." Delgado went on to say that he has accepted a job with the administration of the Gens Draft League as an analyst and lead article writer. "I look forward to my new challenge covering the GDL, and hopefully as a spectator to what's going on, I can start to enjoy myself again." Delgado said as he was taking his stuff out of his old office. When informed of Delgado's resignation, Devils captain Doug Gilmour seemed to be indifferent. "Meh, he's not a big loss. I'll tell you why he lost: He didn't plug Molson Beer, the official beer of the GDL!" Some other responses.. Darcy Wakaluk: Esa Tikkanen: *mix of Finnish and Japanese* Jon Casey: Jungle Boogie! Jungle Boogie! Jungle Boogie! Jungle Boogie! Scott Stevens: I'M GONNA AVENGE OUR COACH! I'M GONNA GIVE ERIC LINDROS A CONCUSSION!!! Randy Wood: *sucks thumb* What? Chris Kontos: He wasn't sexy enough. I should coach and GM this team, I'm the sexiest hockey player alive!
  21. This kind of stuff had NOTHING to do with me quitting, lemme get that out on the open. I resigned because I didn't feel that I've improved enough to keep up and not consistently be in a battle to stay out of last f*cking place. That's something I do not want or need. C'mon guys, where's the logic? Would a real NHL team keep a coach who has gone 8-56?!? No f*cking way. NOBODY is asking you to go easy on newbs, but think about it from their perspective. How much fun is it to go into a game KNOWING THEY STAND NO CHANCE IN HELL OF KEEPING THE DAMN THING CLOSE? Think about it. I've said my peace. Let the flaming of me begin, I really don't care. I have my reasons for resigning, and I have better things to do than to justify a damn thing to any of you.
  22. Great job on the mod! I played it and already I'm in love. Not a fan of the blue ice though, but that's fixable *hugs NOSE*
  23. Disappointing to see the Spring 2007 season getting cancelled. Can't wait for the Fall though
  24. I've got a lot of other s**t on my mind right now, so before I get raped anymore, I'm taking a one week break from this game. I've got jury duty tomorrow and that's really on my mind right now, not this. Basically, don't IM me for a game until monday. Failure to do so will get you blocked. Don't bother posting if you're just going to flame me. Those of you know who you are. SSiG
  25. Delgado Ages Horribly, Devils Get Raped Twice One word can describe the Devils' performance against the Senators in their home and home. Head Coach Tom Delgado used the term "Disgraceful" many many times in a combined 15-4 rapejob by the Senators. "What I saw out there was a lack of effort and a lack of interest. This kind of bullshit performance needs to end right here. This is totally unacceptable, and I expect these guys to realize that before they pull a half-assed performance like this out again." At least Chris Kontos tried. He scored 2 goals in the 7-2 loss at home. When he heard of his coach's comments, Kontos replied with this: "Don't blame me, I actually SCORED goals! I should get a private jet, since I'm so damn sexy. Don't you agree?" *reporter nodded in agreement* The following are random comments from other New Jersey players. Doug Gilmour: Molson beer! The beer of Canadians, like me! Doug Gilmour! Kevin Stevens: I'll play hard for 50 bucks. Esa Tikkanen: *Incomprehensible Japanese* Darcy Wakaluk: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH Jon Casey: OH, OH, OH, OH, STAYIN' ALIVE, STAYIN' ALIVE... Curtis Lesyschyn: Herro, you wanta powk fwied wice? Pretty Boy Chris Kontos Scores a Pair
