  1. Vancouver & Winnipeg announcing a trade. Off to Winnipeg: Kamensky, Ellet Off to Vancouver: Falloon, Chelios
  2. I'm making a few FA switches. #1 Adam Foote to the FA and Richard Matvichuk from the FA to the Vancouver Canucks. #2 Brent Sutter to the FA and Mark Lamb from the FA to the Vancouver Canucks Trades used 2/8 (8 left). Still have 3 D-men of weight 9. Looking to move Ellet for a lower weight D or get a 4th D-men in instead and improve my offence, for a proper packet I can trade Coffey as well.
  3. Everyone on the block for the right prize (O: Kamensky, Francis, Millen, Otto, Sutter & D: Coffey, Ellet, Foote) Only ones who are close to untouchable are Ronning & Butcher and also no requirement to make any changes on goalies.
  4. As I'm watching the old replays of the games I notice people using the shortcut keys for changing frame skip (F2 to set it auto and F3 decrease & F4 increase) Is there anything valid in there that people should know of? I have not done this myself. I know what it does in offline, but is there some effect to online as well?
  5. "Eastern" conference has been wrapped up and St Louis advanced to the finals with 4-1 in wins against Los Angeles Kings. Not going to write too much about the games, but all of them were really close on the exception of game 3. What I will remember most from this series is game 1 ending. St Louis leading 4-2 1:23 still on the clock. Eventually Los Angeles would rally to 4-4 and during 4-4 STL is getting a delayed penalty, during the LA offensive and this delayed penalty LA misses a pass and the pass bounces off the boards and starts to go directly towards LA goal. Behind the puck is Emerson, who cannot touch the puck or the penalty would be called. Just had to protect the lane to not get LA guys touch the puck. Puck hits the right side of the goal post and no goal. From this LA rallies offensive and comes back to score a onetimer goal, just to see 0:00 during the shot already taken. Deserved win for LA in the first game. Great games and it was a tighter series than the 4-1 give out to. Game 1 @ STL 5-4 LA OT Game 2 @ STL 5-3 STL Game 3 @ LA 7-2 STL Game 4 @ LA 4-3 STL Game 5 @ STL 5-4 STL
  6. Good idea Raph I'll fix my D-lines as following Van: #1 Coffey-Butcher #2 Ellet-Butcher #3 Foote-Ellet
  7. 6. My theory on Klima cherrypicking is the 3/2 awareness indeed but with combined speed. Awarenesses do not count towards position directly in my theory. But as a reaction time when you pass the puck to wing on an opening pass even with a speed 4 guy you get fairly deep and Klima reacts very slowly to this. The opponent defence is already positioned to where the puck is on your winger players closeby and with Klima reacting later he has the advantage of positioning himself better to comparison in that opponent D already and his speed makes him come out of the bushes to do this allowing somewhat easy cherrypicking onetimers. This is what I think makes him a very unique player also and results with players using Klima seem to confirm some of it. Still just a theory, but the gameplay and seeing things happen would back this theory up in my mind. 18. Ronning is pretty much the perfect player to handle in my mind. 555 Speeds just work very fluidly. He also has a bit of same coming out of the bushes thing going on as Klima and from close to the net, well even Gretzkys 2/2 shot scores onetimers ok, same with Ronning. Solid defensively as well and quite nice pass shots. [edit] + I would propably have Hull on top#25 players list too, can try to figure out a list of my own later on. + CB Knowledge could raise the stack of Yzerman on my mind. He is weight 6 so resistance against weight 5 / 7 d-men who are plenty and usually picker early as the better d-men. 4 Weights are only Sweeney and few scrubs who can take him down with C and 8+ while plenty not many are that good. +8 Weight with stickhandling 5+ would be an interesting one too, but no players match that category.
  8. No, in my mind the community made a big mistake splitting it up and creating an elite league for better competition. This split out killing out rest of the community eventually and new blood running in stopped. It's only a random cup every once in a while now and sometimes troubles filling that out. Retro is a bit hot nowadays so reviving it would just require some work and proper marketing with sites and so on, but it would be better to fill in everyone from all countries under one site, like if people don't wanna play international and prefer low ping national leagues then why not, it could be done under the same site like nhlgamer was.
  9. Just quite the contrary! Was excited to play against both, but perhaps your arrival smoothened things a bit. Challenge is always welcome. Who wants to play inside the bubble when the whole world awaits to be conquered!
  10. From my perspective, the series between Montreal and St Louis turned out indeed tougher than expected beforehand. Whilst being tight games all the way going to 3-0 lead I started to expect a blowout, but Roy-Brisebois-Schneider on Fitzos hand started to frustrate the hell out me in games 4-5-6 and would've propably been so in game 7 too had game 6 OT gone differently. Fitzo came out real strong having his back on the wall. Played a very very disciplined and good games. If he can transfer some of that to his consistent performance then the A level is not too far from his graps. Watch out for Fitzo bringing back Brisebois in GDL too! Hah, thank you for the compliment, but you propably meant in this series. Plabax is the dog to beat _atm_ and the rest come behind. =) To win you always need a little bit of luck too, so will take that in to the upcoming series vs Sicarius!
  11. For up to trade: Ellet, Coffey, Kamensky I'm not really looking to trade Kamensky at all, but more like fishing the nets and see what combinations I could get with him. For Ellet I'm looking forward to getting a lower weight D to have some disparity in weights (have 3 weight 9 D:s atm). Also losing Coffey would be costy but I'm open to see up where that might lead if I get any good offers.
  12. Offence: Ronning #7 Francis #10 Sutter #12 Kamensky #13 Millen #23 Otto #29 Defence: Ellet #4 Butcher #5 Foote #52 Coffey #77 Goalies: Terreri #31 Waite #35 LW-C-RW D-D #1 Otto-Francis-Ronning Coffey-Butcher | X=Kamensky #2 Kamensky-Kamensky-Kamensky Foote-Ellet | X=Kamensky #3 Millen-Sutter-Millen Ellet-Foote | X= Kamensky G: #1 Terreri #2 Waite
  13. Vancouver welcomes Jimmy Waite
  14. Vancouver takes David Volek ... or actually nah, I'll try something new. Brent Sutter.
  15. Fixed goalie for Detroit and added the picks to Vancouver as of 12.10 GDLXII-testromv15.bin
  16. 10.12 Adding up another 9 weighter on D. Welcome Garth Butcher from my STL on Classic. Still looking to move Ellet.
  17. Player awarenesses have been tested by a few and they seem to not work for positioning at all directly, but indirectly. It's reaction time to puck movement. Offensive awareness = team with puck and defensive awareness = team without puck. There is something in the player skills than tends to have some players position themselves closer to the net for example than others. Joel Otto, Sergei Makarov for example have a very different set of attributes, but both are really good at wingers going to close to the net.
  18. Looking to have some disparity on my starting D's weights. Now have Coffey (9) and Ellet (9) and looking to trade Ellet or even Coffey if the price is right, but that would require some change on the offence then too than just a 1on1 D for D trade.
  19. plabax: give me roussel, then autopik for me -> f,f,d,g BPA: would be K.Stevens by overall and lowest ADP from forwards.
  20. All teams as of current draft updated. Might have a few mistakes here and there. GDLXII-testromv11.bin
  21. Fitzo takes Kevin Todd
  22. I am thinking of that I might've been better of going on some speed in offence like Hogue / G.Courtnall left on boards. In pre draft I was not planning on a numer one D-D pairing of 9 weights and now I'm kind of handicapped by it a bit especially when Kamensky fell to 3rd round o me and had to go for a goalie at 4th round (or did I? A mistake?), so all the good other lower weight D:s went a bit earlier than planned. Was betting I could get Burt at 5th at least, but it's been a great draft with much value going where it is expected and no hidden sleepers later on the draft that much. I am quite happy with my team though now that I've learned CB more too and still have 2*5 speeders on my team but offensively without giving up defence I might've been able to do better, but it's a bit of a coinflip of that now that Kamensky fell. Good: -Still have that speed if required -Have a few strong onetimer guys in Kamensky & Francis -Great goalie for GC Problems: -No lower weight (or any) stickhandling 5+ guy on offence -A bit heavy on the D
