  1. I'd like to play at 2:30PM on Tuesday (preferrably). If not, I can play in the evening/night.
  2. Doing this will result in a team similar to the one you were complaining about in GDL 14.
  3. It seems as if the game maxes out at 16 penalty minutes.
  4. I will want to exi! I'd like to have a team with the best players I played with over the last 4 seasons. Notify me when the teams in the ROM are set so I can add my team in the 25th slot.
  5. People like to play it because it's a fun draft league, not because of tradition.... lol
  6. I know what you mean, but the bonus of low weight would only apply to drafts, not for classic!
  7. Here is the problem: The light guys don't LOSE their value, the heavy guys just gain more. Someone like Svoboda is valued for good skating and checking abilities (two things that don't change with the CB), so it's not fair to say Svoboda loses "much" of his value when he doesn't lose any of it. A Premium Tip: Go for a defensive pairing that has good awareness/good skating. Take at least one player with an awareness of 4/6, 4/5, 3/5, 2/4 or 2/3. Make sure both defensemen have at least 4 agility unless you have Coffey or Housley, a case in which it would be OK to have a 3/3 skater as the second defenseman. It really makes a difference!! My GDL pairings (Coffey/Murphy, Murphy/Lowe, Coffey/Lidster, Murphy/Zalapski) were always the best in the league, whereas my Blitz defensive pairings of Leetch/Sweeney and Leetch/Lidstrom weren't great but my Svoboda/Burt pairing was easily the best.
  8. Sydor is easily better than McSorley. McSorley has a better shot (3/2 vs 3/1), but Sydor will score more goals anyway. Sydor will also be faster on the breakout and have better positioning. Sydor has McSorley beat in every category of what makes a defender great. Gusarov vs Tatarinov is close, with Tatarinov having a very slight edge. I don't think picking one over the other would have any impact.
  9. It's funny how we draft 12 players, but don't use all 12. It would make more sense to find a way to disable injuries and just draft 8 rounds.
  10. they did it!! lol. would be cool to test. It's not on the site yet, but it's now supported on the emulator. It's supposed to be updated sometime in the future (not sure when).
  11. OUT and don't let the city of Arizona or the team name "Coyotes" be used ever again.
  12. Nope. Both our series depend on the winner of Seth/JV.
  13. The fact that it's the last series to be played makes prolonging it worse..
  14. Yeah. We re-seed. Not sure why I thought we didn't.
  15. it's hard to understand what you are trying to say.. It sounds like you're against it.
  16. Exactly. People like FPB don't realize that it is actually impossible to make some saves because the delay is so slow.
  17. Why don't we see how "easy" quick manual goalie is in Blitz then? There are no stats that support the arguments against it, let's stop with the bs. Fact is, classic manual goalie is too slow. I think players who have never hit .700 save percentage on pure manual goalie (FPB and TK) have no say on the subject.. Being good at manual goalie requires a high level of anticipation and decent reaction timing. Once you become good enough at anticipating the play, it becomes obvious that the classic goalie delay is too slow for the pace of the game. Even with near-perfect anticipation/reaction timing, it is impossible to take goalie in some scenarios. All the quicker manual does is make it possible to take goalie in scenarios when you should be able to. What happens sometimes is that the auto goalie moves DURING the time in which you are trying to get goalie from the classic delay. It takes 17 milliseconds to get control of the goalie. The top manual goalie players can react to about 5-7 milliseconds (my guess), so we need about 22-24 milliseconds to make a save. However sometimes we need to react in a time period in between 7-22 milliseconds to avoid auto goalie (usually 20-21) and what ends up happening is that we get scored on when we should be able to save it (we react about 14-15 milliseconds before the shot but we needed 17 milliseconds to stop it). The Blitz/Instant delay are low enough to the point where this doesn't happen.
  18. Interesting how everyone is always available in the last week of the season but as soon as the playoffs start.... gone
  19. Would be a nice patch for a playoff ROM.
  20. Come on guys. It's very simple. Checks are almost always successful if the checking player is at least two weight points lighter than the player being checked. Checks near the boards work regardless of weight. The odd time, checks work despite the weight difference not being sufficient. High stick-handlers can resist body checks. CB-checks have a higher rate of success than C checks. I know that I've been able to knock down many players of the same weight or one lighter with CB checks. That's all you really need to know. Ideally you want to body check when you know it's going to work, so any extra factors that may make a player a "better" checker (for C checks) are pretty much useless, but it's possible there are some factors that make a player a better CB checker because they don't follow the same rules as regular C checks.
  21. haha.. i didn't discover the stickhandle thing... that's been around since 2001 I think.
  22. It's weight. Gretzky and all the other players with 4 weight check the same.
  23. Cool. We'll get them in on Thursday or Friday (if not tonight).
  24. Actually.. Yzerman, Mogilny and Klima are the top 3 players. So, you have actually played with all top 3 players, but it hasn't been every season. Roenick is overrated like always, and the funny thing is nobody ever uses him
