  2. This is a very interesting mod. Thanks for finding this. I will have to give this a try when I get a chance.
  3. Yes that was the idea. That's basically what this code does, it works essentially as a player lock with some quirks. If you follow my instructions in the OP, you should be able to activate this hidden feature. To answer your questions, no, it has not been improved upon in any way. If we were to take a deep dive into it, maybe it's possible to turn it into something more robust but all I was ever able to do was to use it as described in this topic. In my opinion, even as it is, it adds a lot of depth to the gameplay. I will say that one thing that would make this mod even better is a camera modification that stays focused on the player that is being controlled, rather than who has the puck. What happens when you use this mod is that when you are controlling a player without the puck, while on offense, the camera still follows the puck, which means that the player you are controlling can go off screen. It would be nice to be able to make the camera stay centered on the player you are controlling, instead of the puck. Or at least on a specific player of your choice, rather than the puck. That would be something worth exploring, the camera movement and making it centered on a player instead of the puck. That way we can skate off screen away from the puck and not have the player you are controlling go off screen.
  4. The bins are unavailable when you are not logged. When you are logged in, you should be able to download the roms. I only ever released the smallest goal versions 1.0 and 1.1. I was planning on releasing version 1.2 which contained some experimental new goal CPU movement but I got side tracked with some other projects. If anyone is interested in smallest goal version 1.2 I could release that. What I tried to do was to make it so the CPU goalies don't overrun the goal itself. Since the smallest goal is so much smaller, the normal left right movement of the CPU goalie causes them to move beyond each post of the smaller goal when they move left or right depending on where the puck is when the opposing team is in the attacking zone. Ideally the CPU goalie should only move as far left or right to be in line with each goal post, but not to go beyond it. Well with the smaller goal, the normal goalie left right movement isn't exactly aligned with the narrower posts anymore since they move beyond the post. It's not a major problem but it was enough for me to try to improve it. Well I found a rom code that does adjust the CPU left right movement to not go as far left and right but with the values I found also caused some other glitches to the CPU goalie movement, which is why I never released it. However if anyone is interested I could release it. With the understanding that there's room for improvement. I also have the rom for medium goal which I also never released. There was just one finishing touch that I wanted to do before releasing it, but it's pretty much ready. If you guys are interested I could release that as well. My original plan was to apply my smaller goals (new goal artwork aligned with barrier code edits) to some of my favorite roms that have been released by other rom makers. But over the last several years I have been working on other projects and sort of got away from modding NHL 94 Genesis. But it's still a big passion of mine, and I'm glad that there has been some interest in my mods since I've been gone.

  8. Adding the lineup sheet from when this league was run: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cvULy0D3xeHECAF9a83a60_qeJLL4xfDeeM_2Vc3eM8/edit?usp=sharing
  9. Thanks man! I really appreciate hearing that. I'll never say never, but I'm not so sure I can keep up doing these and still have time for new projects I want to commit myself to. Only time will tell what actually happens.
  10. Damn. No Mercy was so fun back in the day.
  11. Certainly thinking about doing that again, but my free time is already earmarked for some other projects and chores. And it'll take me a while after the tournament to collect a of the stats anyway.
  12. Adam. Is 2025 really your last season? Who will take the reigns after you? IMO your hack is the gold standard for NHL94 hacks and one of the best rom hacks ever made.
  13. Hey everyone, Another amazing tool a buddy of mine has created. This one is for editing Virtual Pro Wrestling roms such as WWF No Mercy, WCW-NWO Revenge and everything in between. It can be found here at. https://vpw.ajworld.net/vpwstudio/
  14. Hey everybody, Just wanted to share a project a buddy created with the community. It is a Hardball 5 tool for viewing the PC game. Find the Github link and zip attached. https://github.com/freem/HB5Tool HB5Tool_0.1.0.0.zip
  15. lol - that is a big ask! No harm asking though. Sorry, just don't have the time. I would highly suggest you try it yourself though. There are ample tutorials etc. on this site. Focus on the single aspect that would be the most important to you, and see if it's worth your while. I started by simply trying to update the opening splash screen. One thing led to another…
  16. Awesome work! I do have a favor to ask; is there any way you could do the same thing, but for the AHL teams/rosters? I know it's a big ask but I love having timecapsules of my favorite team. Either way, keep up the amazing work.
  17. Here's how to get NHL 2002(PC) running on a modern PC with Windows 10/11: Extract the attached zip file to your PC Right-click the Setup.exe file in the Setup folder, go to the Compatibility tab and disable the Windows 98 compatibility, then click Apply. Right click the Setup.exe file again and run as administrator. Go through the various setup screens. When prompted, add the registry key found in the attached zip file in this post. Move the patched dx7z.dll from the website below into the main NHL 2002 directory you installed the game onto (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002). Don't try to move it to the zipped file directory. When asked to override the existing file click yes. You may also need to move the NHL 2002 Fixed Executable from the website below into the main NHL 2002 directory and override the existing one. Lastly, right-click on the NHL 2002 application and run as administrator Here's a helpful site that contains some needed patch files to fix graphics glitches/crashes: https://classicgamefixes.wixsite.com/home/nhl-2002#:~:text=First%2C download the official EA SPORTS patch for the game.&text=Then%2C unzip this fixed executable, your NHL 2002 game directory.&text=This combination should allow you,and Run as Administrator modes. If you want to use a gamepad like a snes one you would just need to plug it in before loading the game. Within the game itself you can click on Play Now and at the bottom you'll see a controller icon. Click that and you should see Keyboard and Gamepad. Click Gamepad and you can map the controls to whatever buttons you want. When done click Save Layout/Settings) NHL 2002.zip
  18. Hello everyone, the final date in which to log games will be Monday, May 6th. Below is a current look at the adjusted standings, this table should update in tandem with the NHL94.com website. For leagues with two divisions, each division winner will obtain one of the top two seeds and a bye with the remaining 4 teams qualifying based on points but seed will be based on win percentage. Leagues with one division will provide the top 3 teams with a bye while 4 & 5 duke it out in a best of 7 for the right to play the 1 seed in a Semifinal. Only the top seed will be decided by points, the next 4 seeds will qualify by points but seeded based on win percentage. All teams receive a -2 for each DNP regardless of fault. If you see any discrepancies or mistakes please DM me in Discord. There are a lot of formulas and leagues involved, mistakes are possible/probable. We will not be extending the deadline, please do your best to complete the schedule before the end of May 6th. If necessary, we will do our best to replace inactive coaches with those who can get games in.

  20. Yes to this, but I will just add that it only pastes the order of the players. So if you simply copy/pasted the entire rosters from '98 and pasted them into '97, this will work. But if you rearrange the order that the players are listed in the Players window in anyway, you will notice some issues. ie: if your first line consists of the fourth, fifth, seventh, fifteenth and twentieth players in your list, then copy/pasting the line will select the players in those same slots to make your new line, even if you first rearranged the order of the original players for some other organizational purpose.
  21. Run 2 instances of NOSE, and you can copy/paste players between the windows, probably the lines as well
  22. Hey everyone, So I'd like to import my roster from my NHL 97 Opening Night to NHL 98 without having to remake all of the lines again. I already put the work into fixing every incorrect instance of players from NHL 98. This would serve as a great base to update 98 to opening night as well without having to do so much legwork all over again. The main issue I had was remaking all of the lines for 97 after copying and pasting each teams roster from the other game and updating them accordingly. Any help to simplify the process would be greatly appreciated.
  23. Thanks! I appreciate it. Yeah, as for late season signings, my roster mandate is to keep each roster stocked with the 14 forwards, 8 defence, and 3 goalies that have seen the most minutes of ice-time for the club that they are on. I then consider exceptions for players who would have made the cut if they had stayed on one club all season, or players who were otherwise instrumental, even if they technically had less ice time than a teammate. Because the college players usually join the season so late they rarely make that cut, UNLESS they catch on as a regular in the playoffs. Last year I added Matthew Knies for the Leafs, once it became evident that they were playing him as a regular. If there are any new players who suddenly seem to become regulars in the play-offs, please let me know!
  24. Love your work, was bummed to not see the recent D1 College Hockey prospect signings on the rosters Anaheim Sam Colangelo Cutter Gauthier Carolina Bradley Nadeau Jackson Blake Chicago Frank Nazar Columbus Gavin Brindley Montreal Lane Hutson San Jose Collin Graf
  25. Turns out much like Baseball Stars for the Pocket, the monochrome version of Hockey Stars was adaptable to the colourized remake as well. Updated the full review above, but here it is. Hockey Stars NGP Colour.bin
  26. oh dear! thanks for letting me know. fixed now.
