  1. NHL 95 enthusiasts I'd like to thank @wboy, @slapshot67, @kingraphand @smozoma up front, as Ive learned so much from these gentlemen. As 90% of the hard work was found by these guys. I've completed a NHL95 2020 update that includes the following: Updated rosters of all teams as of August 2nd, 2020 (https://www.capfriendly.com/depth-charts) Updated logos, center ice and banners for all team including "Seattle Kraken" (2020 Top Prospects), "All-Stars" (The top players from 2020) and the "Legends" (Top all-time players from NHL.com) If there is anything that can be added please let me know. 2. To Genesis Sports Enthusiasts!!! I'm aware that NHL94' website is mainly for the NHL series, but with the recent news that Tecmobowl.org is no more (RIP). This is one of the last places people, gamers, modders, and anyone for a debate can go and tickle that itch. This post / project is to get some help on some of the games that are long over do for a refresh/overhaul. Triple Play Baseball (I've managed to get it cleaned, and rosters updated, especially without the dreaded "Ghetto City" or Jim's, or Frank's TEAM.) World Series Baseball (I've updated all the rosters (attributes as well), found the logos. But needing help on main screen, and some other aspects) NBA Live 98' (I've updated the rosters last year (all manually), but 96' has an editor which makes things a lot easier, I'm working with the guy who created it to see if we can get one for 98') Tecmo Super Bowl 3 (I've updated the rosters (attributes), speed up the game, able to find the logos. but need help on the screens.) I know this probably is a waste of time, since @Drunken_1, the master of SNES TSB3 is overhauling that game to be more of original game TSB4!!! PrimeTime Football / NFL 98 (I've done some modding there, but need some help to get the rosters completed and an overhaul of the helmets) Madden 98 (I've played with the rosters, but TSB is far better) PM or share as this is more to reach out to fellow enthusiasts and try bringing up closer with games we love....and updated features and rosters. Below are the games I've started and would love input or suggestions (I.e. NCAA alternatives). Also, at the very bottom, is the NCAA TSB that I found, can't remember where. But Ill give to @MT Remix and @JstoutLogic as they were the ones I found in the game. 3. In case anyone is interested in playing as the Seattle Kraken, I have added them to my 2020 Playoff rom (NHL94 2020 vPO). If not, well, that's fine too. You can play as them in an exi as well as the playoff mode.

  4. Hi everyone! As a nice, little surprise, I have added the Seattle Kraken to my 2020 Playoff rom (NHL94 2020 vPO). There is no longer a NHL Prospects team. The Kraken players are based on the players from the 1917-1919 Seattle Metropolitans. 5 of them (Frank Foyston, Harry Holmes, Lester Patrick, Jack Walker and Gordie Roberts) are in the hockey hall of fame. The Mets were the first US-based team to win a Stanley Cup which they did in 1917. Around that time, Foyston was considered one, if not the, top skaters in hockey. Some of the players got some games in the NHL once that league started up but, by that time, were near the ends of their careers. I don't believe any of the players are alive today so, basically, you're playing with ghosts until the Kraken gets some players on their roster. LOL. Also, back in the early 1900s teams only carried 9-10 players so this particular roster has 2 goalies, 7 forwards and 5 defensemen. The rest of the teams have the usual 3/14/8 structure. Because they are an expansion team, I gave them a low team rating (same rating as Detroit, which is the lowest for 2020). However, they do have some good players on the team so it may not feel like an expansion team if you play as them. I have also added Seattle to the playoff brackets. They open against Vancouver. I also fixed a mistake in the brackets of my last PO rom (which this replaces). If you have any questions or if you notice any errors, please let me know. Enjoy! Cheers!

  5. Hi all Off the bat, I should mention that I am a newbie to editing NHL94. I have waded through the forum and have collated a lot of (really useful) information in relation to editing the BIN for the Megadrive / Genesis version of the game but could do with some advice before cracking on. As a starting point, I plan on create a version of NHL94 that is tailored to the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) in Great Britain. Whilst a pretty modest league compared to other European leagues (both in fan base and quality), the league has its fanatics (including myself) and I figure that it is worth taking some time to get a working BIN in order that can be updated each season. Who knows, it might even lead to the odd local tournament, given how close knit the supporters tend to be. (My username comes from my local team – Manchester Storm.) The EIHL features 10 teams, each with a roster of around 20 players. The 2019/20 season starts in September and the final kits and rosters for many of the teams are still to be finalised but, up to now, I have undertaken the following preparatory work: Rosters I have collated the roster details that are currently available for each team in Excel (ranging from 70% to 100% complete, depending on the team) (i.e. name, position, jersey number, dominant hand and weight). I am planning on using NOSE to input these into the BIN. Weight brackets I have prepared a basic formula in Excel that converts the kg weights I have to lbs and then places them into the NHL94 brackets (rounding down or up to the closest weight bracket as appropriate). I am planning on using NOSE to input these into the BIN. Player attributes I have prepared a (basic) formula in Excel for randomising attributes for each player based on the league position of their team during the 2018/19 season and by reference to the range of attributes for the Cardiff Devils team in NHL19 (as the sole EIHL team in the game). This is because rosters in the EIHL routinely change completely in the off-season and the players can be unknown quantities, so this seems a pretty good / fair way of ensuring that the top teams are of a higher standard than the lower ones within certain pre-defined ranges. I am planning on exporting the attributes from the BIN using the NHL Hockey Roster Tool, replacing them wholesale with the new ones and then importing them back into the BIN. Logos and player cards I have collecting PNG versions of the 10 team logos ready for conversion to useable 16 bit images. I will collate images for certain players (to replace the NHL player cards) as things progress. In terms of what I would like to do to the game (in an ideal world), the plan would be to (in order of processing): reduce the selectable teams to 10 (using EARE); change the name of the ROM (using EARE); update the rosters for the teams, deleting any unused players in each roster (or adding new ones as required) (using NOSE); update the attributes for the (new) players (using the NHL Hockey Roster Tool); change the kit colours for each team; change the ice logos for each team (or use a generic EIHL logo for the time being, as long as it does not interfere with the kit colours) (using a combination of Genesis Image Ditherer and Tile Molester, if I can figure it out!); update the kit colours to reflect the 2019/20 kits (using NOSE?); update the team banners to reflect the update kits and team names (using Tile Molester); update the Ron Barr text so that Aaron Murphy is referred to as the commentator (a Freesports commentator that covers EIHL games in GB) (in Hex Workshop); replace Barr’s photo with one of Murphy (using Genesis Image Ditherer and Tile Molester); update the game text generally so that references to the NHL and Stanley Cup are replaced with EIHL and EIHL Play-Off Trophy (instead of referring to the PredictorBet Play-Off Trophy) (in Hex Workshop); and replace the opening splash screen with an EIHL image and some EIHL-related text under the NHL text (i.e. “NHL 94 (EIHL Edition)”) (using Genesis Image Ditherer and Tile Molester). My knowledge of hexadecimal is pretty much zero, so I suspect that a lot of this is going to be very much trial-and-error, although there is a wealth of information on these forums that I can work with as a starting point (thanks!). I suppose that my main questions at this (early) stage, which are probably pretty basic compared to many questions that get asked here, are: is the order above sensible or is it going to cause me any issues when editing (e.g. will changing the rosters first cause problems when updating the player cards); and does anyone have any practical recommendations about how to go about updating the BIN (e.g. in terms of preparation and workflow order). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Si

  6. After reading two posts on change.org made by the guy known as Mort in the Tecmo community I would have done the same what Knobbe did I guess. But I would let people to access the site backup or something similar. At least for couple of weeks to download files/threads. I've made just couple of posts there but I loved reading that forum. As a European loving NFL and Tecmo games (became fan of both thanks to NHL94 forum and tecmobowl.org site) I lost the place I like visiting. Btw, shutting down the site is discussed here (https://forums.operationsports.com/forums/other-football-games/973316-tecmobowl-org-shut-down.html) and this https://github.com/BAD-AL/TSB_Stuff was posted there. @Drunken_1 Drunken_Honkey has made Tecmo Superbowl 4 that is 99% complete, and was posting on the site with updates. Anyone have a clue how to contact him on his progress ? https://www.reddit.com/r/TecmoBowl/comments/i100ws/tecmobowlorg_is_no_more/

  7. Yeah, the quickness it was shut down really sucked. There is still information I had on a couple of threads that I will hunt down through archive.org. I also still need a couple jstout codes he put on the site. I never copied them, I just had shortcuts to those threads. Really need his open WR hack coding.

  9. Hi Everyone! I just noticed an unfortunate issue with the Playoff rom that I recently uploaded. After I added Seattle, for reasons unknown, it messed up many of the team's lines and d-pairings. I'm actually surprised no one noticed as it had many downloads and no one said anything about it. I guess most folks don't play with line changes on. Then again, I just finally noticed it. Anywho, I went ahead of fixed it. More than half of the teams were affected so I have made sure to review each one and put them back to what they were in the previous version (pre-Seattle). I also used this as an opportune moment to add back in several players who were injured (back in March) and have recently returned for the playoffs. So, the Pens now have Guentzel and St.Louis has Tarasenko, in the line-up, for example. Perhaps, that will make this more enticing to download (again). I apologize to anyone to previously downloaded it but, at least it is fixed! Cheers!

  11. I mean I guess that FMV-based games looked cool back in the early 90s because we hadn't seen anything like them before, but there's a reason that they never made a sequel to Sewer Shark or Night Trap.

  12. Just noticed that the anchor logo has the Space Needle in the design. It's a nice touch.
