  1. I've known about this site forever probably, have lurked some years. To be honest haven't lurked in a while and then the pixelated heroes doc on NHL 94 renewed my interest in this site/forum, so I figured better late than never and I'll join. My dad got me a Sega Genesis in 94 then within months he bought home the first hockey game for it, NHL 94 and I have loved it ever since. I play this mainly on a raspberry pi now, going through the genesis & sega cd version, both of which I love.

  2. I played with EA Graphics Editor and I noticed that VIV-files are actually TAR (the Unix designation for Tape Archive) files. In XBRUCE2.VIV file there is a lot of audio in it, for example all announcer voice files. I did extract these files and noticed that if I change the audio speed in Audacity (Free, open source, cross-platform audio software), I can to get out somewhat recognizable audio. Maybe there is a way to edit audio in NHL95PC? I do not have time (or skills) to examine this further now, but I just wanted to bring this out if someone is interested about this in future. EA Graphics Editor can exctract audio from VIV-files and SNDVIEW can extract/import audio from/to VIV-files. I include here EA Graphics Editor and SNDVIEW if someone wants to investigate this. sndutil.zip eazip110b.zip EA Graphics Editor: ://forums.nba-live.com/downloads.php?view=detail&df_id=3

  3. Can you upload it here, or send up a link? NVM - I think I found it under Coach's "incomplete roms". Ran Coach's NHL'87 rom through SMOZROM and double checked that the weight bug was changed in hex. Just to note, Coach's rom included the "Blitz" or "Improved Weight-bug fix" which smoz created to give a bonus to guys with a higher checking stat. Haven't tested it, but give it a try. 5. Actually I should have expected EA to actually release it on VHS magnetic tape so we have to actually rewind it.

  6. Yes. The lack of online play is extremely disappointing. I get they have to come up with new ideas to sell the game every year. But adding in nhl’94 rewind is targeting gamers 30,40,50 year olds. We want to play this against the people we played the game against 27 years ago but we can’t because they live too far away.

  7. #1 Minnesota is good. #2 Green Bay is better. I loved my trip to Green Bay. It was the high point of my NHL 94 career. Arguing with Trojan about my seeding and then promptly beating him in pre tourney exis Traveling and rooming with AJ Pre-tourney games with Smoz, EA, Tex, AJ, and Jer Beating Raph in an official tournament game of NHL'94 Post tourney 2v2 with Raph, AJ, Jer and Arda #3 Make it Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I'll be retired and totally free #4 SNES was the big negative of my trip to Green Bay. Huge waste of time and it screwed up the Gens tourney that most were there for. #5 See #3 #6 See #3

  8. Here's an update on the rosters for 2019-2020. They're not as biased as before. Enjoy! **Edit - Noticed I had a player duplicated.. took him out. ***2nd Edit - Lines are closer to actual lineups, noticed a couple other players on wrong teams. Make a couple roster changes.
