  1. @smozoma If you are up for it, I would like to take up this quest. Will go redo Tony’s hacking school etc. I’ll probably be quite thick at first, but I’m committed to putting in the work to get it. Let me know if you could spare the time. Happy to chat offsite if that easier.
  2. If this "helps'!?!?!?!? THIS IS LIKE AN EARLY BIRTHDAY GIFT!!!! Amazing. Thank you so much.
  3. I can't say enough about how much I love that you just keep plowing ahead with new ideas and variations. Last time I played there were two clone coaches… now I see you have three distinctively different coaches behind the bench! Every time I see this ROM, there is some new detail to delight in.
  4. I didn't even bother trying to get the Zegras image to work with my 2023 ROM. I thought it would be a lost cause, or look dumb. I can't believe they pulled it off!
  5. Totally agree. 100. It’s such a joy to go in and play and discover those little touches.
  6. Holy smokes, you’re right! That’s crazy ambitious, and they pulled it off!
  7. Nice!!!!!!! Looking forward to trying it out tomorrow! I love seeing all the different ways that people approach the same thing. So many great ideas. I can tell I’m going to try to pick your brain on one of them already. Congrats to both of you in getting this out there!
  8. @smozoma Yup, I'm grabbing the full-size. It's my eyes and some of the typography that are the problem. I'll figure it out. Thanks for letting me know!
  9. @smozoma Do you by any chance still have the original resolution Gridded PNG? My eyes are having a difficult time reading the text…
  10. In doing these rosters and lines, I’ve learned so much about each team, and how their GMs have constructed their lineups. There are teams that are stupidly easy to do the lines for, since the purpose of each player is so obvious on the surface, and then supported by analytics. Team like NYI & St. Louis come to mind here, but this generally skews towards to better teams. Then there are teams where it takes exponentially longer to do the lines, because nothing seems to make sense! Anaheim, Arizona, Montreal, & Philadelphia leap to mind, and I certainly don’t envy these coaches. And then there are trades, which immediately impact the lines, sometimes making it easier, sometimes making it more difficult. So, all that being said, the Bo Horvat trade was the easiest trade I’ve done so far on these rosters. Was obvious how both key players fit in each team, and for the Islanders, it took one of the easiest teams to do lines for, and clarified the biggest ambiguity. Who knows how it will play out in the real world, but in my world, it all made perfect sense.
  11. The trade deadline? That's ages away! I can't bear to play with Bo Horvat on the wrong team that long!!! I don't want to promise anything, I have poor health, and always have to put that first. All that being said, a tentative schedule… 2.0 All-Star Edition. Released no later than Feb 10th. 3.0 TBD. Will depend on any blockbuster trades, etc., and the progress on internal development here. 4.0 Play-Off edition. Released for the start of the playoffs. 5.0 Final edition. Released once the Stanley Cup final matchup is set. Rosters are to be all be set on version 4.0, however it is possible that there are still extremely minor changes for version 5.0, as I (or someone else) will probably notice an oversight. And of course, version numbers subject to change, based on what is or isn't included on each version. Heck, everything is subject to change. But that is the plan right now.
  12. Cool, will wait until it is publicly available, and will see if I can integrate any other archetypes. I just really don't want users to have to compromise or be confused as to what NOSE stuff they want or need. p.s. I can't tell you how excited I am, for admittedly selfish reasons! Almost done re-doing all my sprites and related graphics, obviously just leaving "Yokes" to last.
  13. What did they change… the pants? Did I miss something?
  14. I really like the Carolina reds, but I think that the inconsistency would drive me crazy. I think that I will keep with the 2023 black & grey. Would rather interject a little white if need be. Thanks (all) for the feedback!
  15. The problem with that one, is that I use the grey with the sticks as well, and don't want to introduce that level of inconsistency. I agree, that logo looks so much better with the white. There's a couple teams where I have gotten rid of the white, and I think I prefer it, but not with Carolina.
  16. I'm working on version 2.0, and am refining all the uniforms & logos. I've got a few dilemmas. The first one is Carolina. Here is the issue… - If I use an accurate CAR home uniform, the centre ice logo will lack the white element. - If I add white to the CAR home uniform, it is less accurate, but the logo keeps the white element. - Alternately, if I switch CAR to their third uniforms, the centre Ice logo can be seen higher quality, but they will be the only team not in their proper home colours for 2023. All three scenarios are pictured below. Any and all feedback is welcome and encouraged!
  17. 1. Let's say Kane is going to… Buffalo. Because that would be crazy, but also remotely possible. 2. Well, obviously, Toews. 3. I love to see my Leafs pick up Vasilevsky at the trade deadline. That way they could actually win an elimination game, and make it to the second round.
  18. I wrote you a reply but it seemed to dissappear? My apologies if this is a double post… thanks for letting me know! Might be useful in discerning what is what with this thing. it was so cool to crack it open and see a tiny 1 Meg Sega ROM sitting in the heart of a 250 mega PS4 payload. And the ROM works (in GenesisPlus)! I don’t see any differences from the stock ROM, but hope to find more time to poke and prod it soon.
  19. I know I'm late to this party, but just in case… I cracked the PS4 version open today, and can confirm that it is running what appears to be a very slightly modified version of the original ROM. I can't tell exactly what the modification is doing, but it appears to inject some code at the end, and updates some references along the way. I can tell you that the images, players stats, etc. are not in the ROM, but are instead injected in realtime through the emulation layer. I am not sure what this method is called, but I believe it is the same method used by Nintendo, among others, for this kind of thing. While the file size is ~250 megs, it ZIPs to ~10 megs. Most of the file size is some UI texture files, which I have not yet been able to decrypt, but seem to be in some kind of bitmap type encoding, as they compress with simple ZIP at a rate of ~99%. Player data, Line combinations, and even Team Jersey colours are stored in CSV files, and most graphics are stored as GNF files. The total injected data is only 2.5 megs uncompressed, to the original 1.0 meg ROM format. I haven't been able to identify what Emulator they are using, but from what I can tell, I don't see any of our communities mods or code in here, but I can't be sure. FYI the executable boot.bin is ~7 megs. OK, I'll stop now. I've tried to answer some unanswered questions tin this thread, but at this point I'm just geeking out. Will attach some reports in case anyone is interested in this kind of stuff. And again, my apologies if this is all old news, I haven't had the time to read everything Rewind related here, I just felt compelled to crack Rewind on the PS4 today, to see what I could see. Image0.csv Side-by-Side.html Summary.html Interleaved.html
  20. Hi there! Thank-you for this. I found this quite useful as a reference as I was building me ROM. Today I figured out how to extract the raw CSVs from NHL 94 Rewind (PS4 version). In case anyone wanted to see exactly what was programmed in, here it is. The file is untouched (even the file name), exactly as I was able to extract from the PS4 PKG. players.csv
  21. Beautiful! Do you mind if I combine this into my add-on pack above? Would update the README as well.
  22. Probably… the base of it is the NOSE INI that you directed me to when I implemented the 16 point system, and had issues in NOSE. I don't fully know what that included or excluded, so that's the biggest unknown for me. Outside of that, all I did was add the entries for my ROMs, and supporting resource files. To the best of my knowledge, that won't break anything, as it literally just adds some extra menu options in the INI. If you are going to add them to the DL, let me know, as I will put in the effort to also update the Sprites BMP as well. If there are any other versions that people may use as a base with different sprite colour arrangement, I am happy to do the files for those as well, if you bring them to my attention.
  23. @Drezz Feel free to send over what you did, and I'll happily take a look.
