you should just play the snes drinking game.. guess how many posts will be hit before the game and however many off you are is how much you have to drink It can get rowdy considering the game is liable to toss 8 posts your away in a single 5 min period game

Don't worry I'm sure you will never get a response to this.. Its beginning to look like this league should be renamed FVHL2 Commish?? Care to enlighten anyone on anything? I randomly set a deadline to try to get this going and somehow you haven't addressed this topic yet. Its been over 2 weeks since any real activity of drafting took place. Does the site even exist? THE PEOPLE WANT ANSWERS.

I was there, and wow that was horrible. It should have been an intentional offsides and a faceoff in philly's end as Briere clearly knew he didn't touch up and played the puck anyway. That said, I dont think this is a big set back. The pens came out and completely dominated, then seemed to take their foot off the gas. Fleury played great, but the D just left him hung out to dry far too often. I think this game will serve as a wake up call and we will see a complete 60 minute game of hockey from the Pens in game 2.

IDK having the #3 and #5 overall picks in a 24 person draft seemed legit to me

I think there are a few flaws w your system in that draft position doesn't accurately tell how valuable a guy is due to the protection rounds skewing people's draft positions. This method would work well in GDL where drafting position is a more accurate gauge. According to your numbers, trading Chevy for Ron Francis is a decent trade (only 3.4 difference) and I'm pretty sure anyone in the league would disagree with that notion. Also, based on half of trades it thought were bad involving Luc, I gotta feeling that your system must overrate him, or perhaps a large group of guys who fall in that area of the draft where you probably wouldn't protect if r1 is protection, but you would if r2 is protection. It also doesn't adjust for how important different positions are (a starting goalie is obviously more important than 3rd winger). It is fun to play with though.

I think it'd be good to give guys a few more trades this season due to the new format. People are forced to protect players they may not want, or trade that protection pick away. Either way, that is at least 1 or 2 trades lost right off the bat. It might make more sense to have a rule like "each team gets 5 transactions" instead of 7 total items moved. Thoughts?
