Welcome to the Survivor League Season 2 Sign Up and Information Thread! This season will be very similar to the inaugural season, with the following changes: Weight bug fixed ROM (thanks smozoma!), instead of classic. Goalie Control "Y" button hack! (thanks clockwise!) All 26 teams available to use (1 home and 1 away), instead of a randomely chosen set. Penalties for not finishing games in the regular season. You will lose an "x" number of teams available in the playoffs (if you make it) for missing regular season games. I had a lot of fun setting up and running this league and I've gotten some positive feedback from you, which is great! As the inaugural regular season is about to wrap up, I'd like to start this thread where you can post your thoughts, comments, and suggestions to use in future Survivor leagues. Even if you thought everything was great, feel free to say so! Some initial ideas that may spark a reaction: * Allow all 26 teams to be chosen. Each person can choose the mix that they prefer. Still 1 home and 1 away max. * OR, reduce the number teams and allow 2 home games and 2 away games (i.e. 9 teams with 2H/2A instead of 18 teams with 1H/1A) * Stricter penalt…

Weight bug or no weight bug, it doesn't matter as Freydey beat KingRaph in 6 games today to win back to back championships in the Survivor League! You may remember Season 1 was the classic ROM and this season featured the weight-bug fixed ROM with goalie "Y" button. Pick your poison, Freydey showed he can win with both! The finals are set for Survivor Season 02! In a whirlwind of activity these last two days, Freydey took the opening series from da94wookiee in 6 games (game summaries here) to advance to the semi-finals vs Kupuck. The series was tied 2-2, and then Frey managed to hold wookie to just 3 goals in the last two games (he averaged 4.83 GF in the regular season). Great season by wookiee, a tough draw to face Freydey in the first round, who also beat wookie in season 01 on his way to the championship. The GDL tornado and the 2013 draft league tsunami came whirling in and caused the Survivor league to slooooooooooooow down! You guys know the drill. Below is a snapshot of the current playoff scenario as of today. Season ends Midnight (or so) EST Sept 16th. No GOTW this week, sorry.

We are now crawling along, and are over 23 games played on average, leaving us with with about 15 regular season games left (assuming we play them all, which I doubt will happen). So I suggest the regular season wrap up in 3 weeks, which is about 5 games a week. Just an FYI to start, I'm sure you all saw that I added a new feature on the website (https://sites.google...survivorleague/) last week that shows league leaders for Win%, GFA, GAA, and Points. Seems to be working fine, I just wanted to test out some more google functionality. It's still early in the season, a little past the halfway point, but it looks like a few things are starting to shake out. KingRaph is leading the East division with 40 points, but IceStorm and BoKnows are the favorites to climb up and take that spot away. Both have over 20 games left to play, so nothing is set in stone. We are past the halfway point of the season already with an average of almost 20 games played! Excellent work! Let's keep the pace up and I won't have to post a schedule! I wanted to introduce a goal or highlight of the week (see last week's update). Again, if you record or get a savestate, send them my way! Otherwise, you'll be getting clips of my games only, . This goal of the week was between me (CHI) and BoKnows (MTL). BoKnows scored 2 goals late in the 3rd to tie it up 4-4 and had the momentum going into OT. You're watching how it all ended in overtime.

We are off and running smoothly in Season 02 with 79 games played out of a total possible 266, or 30%! That's a little over 11 GP on average. Very exciting start to the season! This is expected as there are many options to play (you have 13 opponents to start), so we should see a slow down in the next few weeks. But let's keep it up! I've gotten positive feedback on the website, which I appreciate. I'm also happy to see that the latest games window is working well and that we haven't had any major issues logging games. Freydey and KingRaph both swept their opponents, Wookie and smozoma, respectively, to move on to the East Division finals! Congratulations on your great survivor seasons, Wookie and smozoma! Wookie and RWD finished up their series this week, with Wookie moving on in 7 games. Also, the tidal wave known as the Blitz draft hit this week and all the coaches who are in the playoffs are involved (or running it). As such, no round 2 games were played or discussed. Even I'm not immune to the draw of Blitz. So we get a pass. Now that the Blitz draft is heading towards the second half, I expect we can get back on the survivor playoff schedule. As we can see from the game details, we still have two open series left to be played. Wookie (3) and RWD (6) have not played any games, have not posted on the forums their availability or reasons for the delay.
