  1. When I find some time, I'd like to post the match-ups recorded on the streams for future reference. Also want to mention that I really like to look of Tom's stream, the retro design looks awesome. 2. Got home today around 5:30pm, spent an extra night in Minneapolis on the way home and watched the Wild/Sharks game Sunday night. Just wanted to say thanks to Troy @King of 94' WI for setting up this weekend, we had a really great time and played a lot of NHL94 from Friday evening exis, to a full day Saturday. The venue (Edge VR) was just about perfect IMO - basically next door to the hotel, and within walking distance of anything you needed including the airport (ask @CoachMac and @angryjay93). In the end I played 18 tournament games on Saturday between SNES (10 games) and Sega (8 games), making the Quarterfinals on both systems. Big thanks to @corbettkb for sharing his cheatsheet for SNES, and @CoachMac for bringing the sheets for Genesis. I was lucky to play a good number of games on the streams which was fun, but the highlight would have to be the series vs/ @CoachMac on SNES on Facebook Live - True Game Fans Network starting around 3:08:00. We had Arda calling the play, and the organ playing along to our goals and penalties. The OT winner in game 1 was SEXY! On Genesis I had a game vs. Tom -The Retro Sports Gamer which was called by @kingraph, streamed on Youtube - The Retro Sports Gamer. Best series was vs. @LeifErikson, without question, a tense 3 game set that I really wish was recorded somewhere. He picked the match-ups in games 1 and 3, looking to get his home Kings in both games by giving up the Wings and Hawks as visitors. The other game I got to play my Leafs vs. the Bruins. Great to hang out with the forum guys who attended, and enjoyed meeting all of the players in my groups. Cheers guys, and looking forward to attending another tournament in the future.
  3. The 2 game series has always been my preference, I think it breeds more activity as guys know that they can get a bunch of games in and nobody is waiting around for too long. 4 gamers are often enough that guys won't stick around and/or enough for some guys that one series is all they'll play in a night.
  4. Et tu Brute 2 and maybe consider using last season teams to form keepers with new coaches.
  5. If you are running it in Dosbox, these are the best instruction I know of.
  6. These instructions were for installation on a Windows machine - to run it on a Mac, you'd need to dual-boot Windows, or run it on Dosbox. But yes, you should be able to run the game without the CD.
  7. I found the perfect controller for this tournament location. (For the price, it might be worth it just for the Genesis->SNES adapter included) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Beeshu-JET-FIGHTER-CONTROLLER-For-Super-Nintendo-Sega-Genesis-w-SNES-adapter/222828101590?hash=item33e196ffd6:g:2yUAAOSws0Jaem40

  16. There are definitely more than a few set plays in NHL94 (at least on the SEGA), and I think it would be great for the new players to understand how to work on them, and how to potentially defend them. The ones that stand out to me are: offensive zone face-off, one-timer (C wins face-off to winger or defender, quick one-timer pass and score) neutral zone face-off, break away (C wins face-off and quick passes ahead for a breakaway, deke score) Any tips from the A/B players out there? Any other set plays you've witnessed? Any advice on how to defend against them? Instructional videos @TomKabs93?
  17. 2.3 Toronto selects: Victor Hedman
  18. 1.2 Toronto selects: Patrick Kane
  19. Amazing that a doctor ever cleared him to play again after facial reconstructive surgery.

  21. The great thing about playing live - is that you can just pause the game and attack your opponent physically.
  22. Not sure if it would be handy - but a while back, I made a sheet of all of the actual salaries for players in 1994. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/120GLczLCJjJfJ9yaG_iwK77DPLtxe4VICKQcTdlZtD8/edit?usp=sharing
  23. Did @McMikey get any information about this? Just thinking that the decision to eliminate fighting may have come late - and perhaps there is a single line of code that was deactivated. We do know that players still had fighting ratings in NHL94 - so it's possible that fighting was once still a feature.
