  1. oh, I get it, now. I opened up that ROM (the second one from that list that came up) and saw the added stuff near the end, but I didn't notice any other differences... I'll check it out again. thanks.
  2. not sure that has anything to do with what I'm typing about. I just want to find those graphics in tilelayerpro so I can alter them. the clock image should be doable. thanks.
  3. word. well, thanks for the Zamboni tip. still looking for the two tile groups from the first post. holler if you can help, y'all!
  4. I don't know. but it can be done, right? so the EA symbol I changed was the one on the side of the Zamboni. still looking for the clock one...
  5. well, some hacks have the fatigue bars recolored... wanted to do something like that. edit: NICE. thanks. surprised I never spotted that EA logo. now... what to put there... hehe.
  6. are y'all going for the "most typos, punctuation errors and grammatical mistakes in one thread" record or something? I get that Hokkeefan is a borderline-retarded testosterone victim, but are the rest of y'all questing to join him/her in stupidity? edit: I guess it's only half of the rest of y'all, with Hokkeefan chiming back in with more and more failing. no offense intended to the clearly superior brains of the folks who have managed to maintain a grasp on reality and make logical sense in posts.
  7. um... it only goes to 000FE000. do you think you could circle it in a picture?
  8. ah, nice action. wow... all the way back to 1917! averages based on decades? I guess I'll see if/when I get this thing running. hmm... I never had many problems with the way the stars were calculated (assuming the SNES calculations are similar, which reads as about right), but I certainly understand the draw to tinkering with it (read: anything). do you feel like you have it nailed or is there anything you would/do consider adjusting? gotcha. I guess I thought this was something else. I hope you know that I very much appreciate the help you continue to provide. this place is full of smart and helpful folks. you are a resource and a friend... if you accept friends from the other side of the console aisle! hmm... weird. again, thank you for all that you do. I wish the SNES crew had a code genius like you working on tools and resources for SNES ROMs. I'm trying to learn it all, but it comes slowly and I doubt I'll be making programs (guides, maybe, for concise and accurate manuals would certainly benefit the site) to help other hacking novices. well, I am plugging away at a Genesis ROM and running into plenty of barriers for every success. there have been successes, though... enough to demonstrate clearly that Genesis hacking is easier, if only by the .bin format's ease with tiling. blah, blah, blah... point is: thank you! edit: want to be clear that I don't downplay the assistance/guides/programs of those who do SNES hacking. point there was that we could always use more bright minds.
  9. hoping you could explain those parts a bit, especially the 0-15 thing (what was it before?). does checksum removal fix the checksum or delete it, and if it deletes it, why is that better? thanks.
  10. what does it mean by "do you want to apply an extra data set?" would that be to use another patch, as well? also... it didn't work. I suspect I was supposed to edit the crease and posts and nets first, but I don't quite get how to do that. notice, also, that the reflections of the glass dividers (yeah, they have a name, but it isn't coming to my mind, right now) aren't there where the trap meets the wall. helpy?
  11. updated. -no more punctuation-based glitches in the team names -5/20/60-minute period lengths -adjusted home/away, offense/defense, powerplay/penalty kill advantages -fixed filler teams' lineup glitches -altered more menu text and graphics got an older version? please download this update. thanks. pending changes for next release: playoffs reinstated, Bruins roster/lineup updates.
  12. wow. so many things neglected here... I have played MANY games of the Genesis version and it is like most hockey video games: it's fun and it's a decent game, overall. the SNES version, however, has a level of control that makes it a nearly perfect experience; it just feels right. the only time you yell at the game is when your opponent pulls off something amazing, where the Genesis version is an exercise in frustration for those used to the precision of the SNES game. it amazes me that people like the Genesis version so much more, but, then again, the world is full of religious people and violent people and meateaters and... well, anyway... big flaws in Genesis: -no defense control buttons -no stand-back-up button -no instant goalie control button -weight error ridiculousness -individual players playing for multiple teams -line-change button forces a puck dumping -seemingly random computer takeover of your puck-carrier -generally slow button/response time minor issues with the SNES version: -line fatigue doesn't reflect substitutions -no personal stats -not as popular
  13. the biggest difference is that the Genesis version was hurried and has more bugs and mistakes, but there are a lot of little differences like the way they skate and the ways the goaltenders react and stuff like that. with the Genesis version, cut-acrosses are easier and THE move is harder. so... are you winning games, yet?
  14. word. not sure what I was doing before, but, yeah. tough to miss, yet somehow I did.
  15. I experimented with it... but I still couldn't figure out what I was doing.
  16. let's do it, then! you start! hehe. seriously, if I thought I could translate this from Genesis to SNES, I would, but I am going to require major assistance. really, though... let's do this.
  17. I tried to use the checksum editor, but I couldn't understand it, at all. could this be explained in more detail? I believe this would need to be done in order to create cartridges, so I'd like to learn this, eventually. holler.
  18. finally cleared that third injury thing up. the first injured player gets healed and comes back. not very exciting, but I didn't know that a dead player could be resurrected, so at least that was determined (the last image below is the previously dead player assisting the two goalies on a goal). also, the goals/assists/points stats on the player stats screen can only handle two digits... nothing too revolutionary there, but I figured I'd test it anyway. yeah. an updated ROM file (with sixty-minute periods) to come soon.
  19. five-hole goals are a Genesis thing. did you work on the cut-across, too?
