  1. pretty sure I'd never heard the term "shinny" before.
  2. thanks. I hope to check it out soon and give you comments. are you going to do a tweak of the rosters when opening night rosters are announced in the first week of the season?
  3. also struggling. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?showtopic=12100
  4. I have almost every team and line set, but when I go to edit the last one's lines (team = SNS), I get this run-time error. I opened the file up in a hex editor and compared it to a working ROM file, but I can't see what the problem might be. could somebody PLEASE help me figure this out? file attached. tru94.zip
  5. somebody needs to do this for SNES. I don't know if it suffers from the same bug, so I guess the first step would be determining that. too cool.
  6. ...a way to make heads bleed. tried editing the three "tiles" (weird that they are all partial tiles, seemingly overlapping, like if you want to edit out the player numbers and positions under them, it ain't as easy as painting what was there black... not sure why...) that most looked like the dead player's head, but none of them actually ended up being ANYTHING I saw during gameplay. I'm a bit confused. can somebody assist me, in any way?
  7. downloaded the one you link to and it is not intuitive. I want to eventually do this for my ROMs, but I need more help than a link to a program. in stupid English, if possible.
  8. would figure a Calgary user who seeks a challenge would love a team full of Smyth-caliber players. link in signature, if you are so inclined. welcome to the fun of this silly forum, too!
  9. want to try a team full of Greg Smyths? try the Tru Scrubs '94 SNES ROM. there's your challenge: a team of 25 average versus a team of 100 average.
  10. ah, English as a second language, huh? what do kids in Philadelphia speak/type/write? I'm guessing some form of Canadan. I could have gone with tact, but fuck that! no, not "buttfuck!" you are weird.
  11. Kovalev should have more than this year left in him. I didn't realize Hamrlik was so young. Recchi should play another after this one (he is still so good....), but he is old.
  12. you say "ga" and I say "SNES" (like "'s nice"). anyway, I want this topic to grow. somebody address the SNES!
  13. not sure how they expected years at below current minimums to fly. also not sure what "could of" means.
  14. the part called "net tiles" in your post features an image. if that is a capture of what you are using, you may want to check the distance between poles and the vertical lines of the goalie rectangle. right side seems further away.
  15. that's exactly how this one is structured at his 10th and 11th on.
  16. word. I guess it has been drilled into my head here that the ratings are "ALL WRONG!l!ONE!|!:!1!i!;!" it would explain some things I don't get about player boosts, but those may be home/away-related. the SNES manual mentions home/away boosts zero times. the games are different, but I don't suspect they were different in their ratings math. I suspect the equations are the same for those things, but I really don't know. it would be beyond awesome if we had "edit lines" options reflecting the boosts and anchors that aren't discernible from the 25-100 ratings.
  17. holy fuck, 17 years for $102 million is quite a contract. I hope he can't play, for whatever reason. Devils must think he's the real deal.
  18. well, then, are you able to do the same thing for the SNES version, yourself? like, does the skill you used to ascertain and adjust these values translate similarly to allow you to replicate the results you have had in GENS to the correlated digits in the SNES code? and do the SNES rating suffer from the exact same deficiencies that the GENS code has/had? either way, thanks for the work! please do what you can by way of another 45% of our community.
  19. this topic has been discussed so many times here, but I STILL don't really understand. I hope I have the main point right: 1. guys are +/-/= for their stats. got it. 2. RB's intro means nothing. okay, if you say so -- everybody else sure agrees. 3. you've found a way to fix this, making the RB comments reflect the actual hot/cold players. sweet! that's really cool. does it pick the three most-affected and three least-affected players from each team?. is this possible in SNES, too? same value offsets? thanks for your time.
  20. yeah, but can you put the flash ones in a sealed regular SNES cartridge casing? I want the shits to look official, yo.
  21. phew. I thought general editing and hacking were going to be unavailable. turns out it's just some guy who won't be able to play games with his buddies because he is going on vacation.
  22. and puck and goal and siren and....
  23. just heard the audio at the end of that clip for the first time. $50 is a lot. makes sense, though. I'm trying to learn to do this and my buddy makes chips at work... wish us luck. $50 seems like the labor charge. I suspect if I wanted thirty somebody would do the rest at 5ish. worth it. got to have that ROM finalized, though! I'm not done with any of my game projects. that would make deadlining a goal, having a cartridge or dozens as the outcome.
