  1. Just booked my flight and hotel. Staying at the Doubletree on Chestnut. About $205 each night all in. Thanks for starting this thread! I had no idea where I was going to book a place until I landed here. Also, I get in earlier on Friday... I'll bring a Gens if anyone is interested in playing or if you feel like meeting up for drinks, etc. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
  2. I'm all registered... looking forward to meeting everyone in person... finally. Halifax, thanks for keeping me in the loop!
  3. I registered today... I'll see you guys there. Looking forward to meeting everyone in person... finally!
  4. Is Dr Pizza still around??? Congrats King! Keep it up in '14! All Hail!
  5. In my opinion, while these are good ideas to have, many of these recommendations/suggestions appear to be outside of the scope of nhl94player.com. I think the site is accomplishing exactly what it set forth to do. -lack of QUE -lack of SNES -font spacing -92/93/94/95/Gens/SNES/CD/PC/etc. options -additional text -options like player cards, Barr screens -tons more base images
  6. Hey Tbeb, great job on this! Its always great to see people who have a passion for nhl 94, especially ones who can put combine their skillset, passion and creativity to produce something fun for everyone to enjoy!
  7. 1. To somewhat piggyback off my recent thread... http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/15884-what-attribute-contributes-towards-injuries/ I would add an injury rating. The higher the rating the more likely that player will injure another. The lower the rating the more susceptible that player is to injuries. 2. Dump Rating. I haven't thought about this one much but the higher the rating, the higher the dump to give more time on line changes and more likely it will stay in bounds. As a secondary benefit, this could also be applied to the elusive "dump goal" from behind the opponents net.
  8. Gens definitely does not have that song but that track is awesome!
  9. Well I do have a surprising number of games logged b/w my friend and myself from back in the day... not 10,000 but probably in the range of at least 2,000. I understand what you're saying about using players evenly but that's what makes it even more interesting. For example, Matvichuk is not a player I use that often, yet in several of my seasons, he was the leading ass kicker by far. Weird. In fact, it was a worthy stat to keep b/c we made rules that guys who accumulated enough injuries throughout the season would have to sit out for the remainder. It was all calculated using a point system. Period injuries = 1 pt. Game injury 1st pd = 3 pts; 2nd pd = 2 pts; 3rd pd = 1 pts. I can't remember exactly but I think any player who got injured enough to total 10 points got sat until playoffs. Pretty significant since there were over 150 games each season. But I'm glad you agree, I think it would be fun to keep a running tally of injuries on a thread. I can keep a running tally in an excel spreadsheet and post periodic updates. Might be worth it's own category on the forums, I'll reach out to an admin to see if I can get that started.
  10. Back in the late 90s/early 00s, I used to keep manual stats written down and from what I recall, there are some injury patterns. Those patterns are most apparent by the guys who commit the injuries. Matvichuk (sp?) being one of the most consistent guys to injure other players. I'm going to have to dig around to find my archives of these old stats kept in these leagues to confirm. However, we should think about starting a thread that anyone can log from any match, players that were hurt and who hurt them, plus if that player were hurt for a game or period. I would be more than happy to keep a running tally based on the inputs on that thread to see if a pattern develops. Do you guys think that could be interesting or not worth it? Lemme know!
  11. Hey VC, I saw the post that talks about DefAw as it applies to Goalies but I'll take a look around and see if I can dig up anything on the forums. Thanks for getting back, hope all is well!
  12. Does anyone know what attributes contribute towards injuring another player or makes a player susceptible to injury?
  13. What is Defensive Awareness when applied to Forwards? Defensemen? How does a player with high ratings in this category act vs a low rating?
  14. Thanks Trudat, I'll take a look over this and post any follow up questions over there.
  15. Thanks for getting back so soon, Bo! Btw, somewhere in those attributes, is there one that's tied to injuries (whether it's causing or taking the injury)?
  16. I was using NOSE to look up some player attributes in the classic NHL 94 rom for Gens and had a couple questions about several attributes. Could someone please define the following or how it benefits/hinders a player to have a higher rating in that category? 1. H/F 2. Agility 3. Aggression 4. Checking (is this the ability to B-check effectively?) 5. Stick left/right (why is this stat important to non-goalies?) I tried looking around the forums for answers as I'm sure they're out there but I couldn't find them. If you could share any info you have, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  17. Please disregard... I was able to convert the rom into an excel friendly format using the tool provided in the link below. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/10146-copy-and-paste-nose-ratings-into-excel-or-another-program/
  18. Does anyone have an excel file containing a data dump of all the player stats for classic NHL 94 Gens that they could send me? I tried to transfer the bin files over to excel through NOSE but couldn't figure it out. Thanks in advance for the help!
