I must say Hokkee, your amazing powers of persuasion cannot be ignored. I believe more people would get what they wanted if they used your approach. I mean the way you point out how things are "fkin stupid", the strategic use of exclamation points peppered throughout your message and your ever so clever use of smiley faces with the tongue sticking out? What can I say, you're a revolutionary! The last time I noticed this kind of behavior is when I saw that little girl pounding her feet at the grocery b/c her mom wouldn't give her a blowpop. Although, she eventually got what she wanted. And I believe that one day, if you keep what you're doing, you'll get your blowpop too.

I chatted with him briefly yesterday. He said that he hadn't been on for awhile b/c he had to get a new controller. He also said that he would be on more to play games now. I guess we'll see what happens.

If you are a Gens player and really want to get old school like myself, you can buy a pair a Gens pads of Ebay for $10. Then go to retrousb.com for the adapter cord that will connect your pad to your USB port for around $20 with shipping. Not a bad deal. That's what I did and it works great. Welcome to the community!

The point of this thread isn't to discuss whether your AIM should be on or off. Besides, I don't think I've ever played you when either of us turned it completely off so I really don't understand where you're coming from.

It really shouldn't have to come down to that. We've got a group of standup guys in this league. If it's an issue that's brought up now, I would expect that everyone would respect it.

I'm completely with Dmac on this one. Unless there needs to be a stoppage during play and you or your opponent needs to say what is going on... what's the point of chatting, especially trash talking? It's a pain when you're using GENS-netplaysave and your opponent writes something b/c when you check it, the screen minimizes. Then you have to maximize it again once you return to the game. Now imagine you have to do this after every time the other guy trash talks after a goal. There's nothing wrong with a little trash talking but save it until after the game. But also have the common courtesy to know when your opponent isn't in the mood after a tough loss. The worst case example is if the IM screen pops up with dumb s**t from your opponent and you lose control of your team, this is what I would classify as douchebaggery of epic proportions. This was never an issue last season and I trust that it won't be a problem this season.

D, are we still on schedule to start the regular season tomorrow?

So skoolyardpuck and I were playing a game yesterday. Mogs was on a breakaway when T-boned him in a desperation effort to knock the puck away. Rightfully so, he was awarded a penalty shot. So he skates downward and goes right. I instinctively hit C to go for the save which results in my keeper swinging his pads out there. He turns Mogs around just outside the crease for the easy backhander. The puck doesn't catch any air on his shot. It slides along the ice, into the net, out the back of the net, through the wall, into the crowd and out of the screen. And the kicker is poor skool ended up losing the game by 1 goal. Has anyone ever seen this? I wish we had it recorded. Just when I think I've seen pretty much every bug in the game, the NHL gods humble me with a new trick up their sleeves.

And what's up with the surge of new blood that are all about the Sabres? Coincidence? Maybe. Or maybe a coordinated effort by a group of Jehovas (sp?) witnesses masking themselves as Sabre fans who play NHL94 with the sole purpose of converting us? Most likely. I've got my eye on you guys.

VC, I would bet anyone in this league with 20-1 odds that you voted for shootouts, Mr. crazy-pass-shot-on-every-breakaway. ;-) In all honesty, as exciting as shootouts are in real hockey, I really believe that a period of OT is the way to go. I'm just thinking the shootout for our purposes isn't really a great way to determine who should win a game in OT b/c teams are drafted for styles of play that don't include deking. A lineup with strong shooters is automatically at a distinct advantage in that kind of situation. Does anyone think that the shootout in our league is a good representation of what team deserves the win? And what happens if you have guys in the pen box going into a shootout? Does that mean that they won't be able to participate in the shootout? Or can the rom be manipulated so that just your starting lineup shoots? What about injuries in that situation? Does a guy who's injured for the game get to come back for a shootout? Sorry, just brainstorming and throwing it out there to see how realistic this option is. Sounds like it could be a lot of extra work that's not really worth the trouble.

D, got another thing after playing Skool. I lost one game at home against skool. When I uploaded it, it recorded that game as 2 losses with the same stats. Let me know if you need any other info from me. Thx.

Also D, would it be possible that when we go to the Player Stats tab that the PPG stat will be column that is first sorted as opposed to the number of games each player has played?
