  1. I just downloaded the rom so if you ever want to play another GENS guy learning the ways of the SNES, feel free to catch me online.
  2. I second that. I've been checking on here just about everyday to look for signup info for the upcoming GENS spring league. Looking forward to it!
  3. Where are you man? We're trying to play this series. Your brother said you were sick.... but that was 2 weeks ago. Get on here to schedule.
  4. I think the league might have slowed down around that mark b/c of the holidays. I'm sure everyone would agree I was the biggest culprit of holiday absence. I know D is busy so hopefully we can have something up and running soon. I actually enjoyed to have the season with the current number of games. I think we have a pretty solid group where we won't slow down. But it wouldn't hurt to have a playoff schedule.
  5. Nice see saw battle. Looking forward to the grand finale. Good luck to both of you.
  6. It was a nice recap. And maybe you guys are going for the suspense factor with waiting a week to finish off the series... but how bout some results with the remaining games?
  7. It would have been nice to have the top 2 coaches of each conference face off but instead, maybe each seed could face off against the seed that mirrors them in the other conference. That way, everyone is involved and it's worth it to set up. Now I know Hurray, the Campbell conference had some stronger coaches this season and you're scared to play bhf and bowing down vs stepping up semantics and whatever else but it's not about the winning aspect of it, it's about fun. Would you guys be up for that?
  8. That's disappointing that you would just bow down like that Hurray. Your a good coach, where's your fight?
  9. I have a suggestion that I think would be pretty fun. If we compile the votes for the all-star team and make an all-star series out of it. The top player from each conference could face off in a 3 game series made up of the voted all stars. Winner gets bragging rights and gets to bring the pride factor back to the coaches of their respective conference. It would be nice if D could set up that tab in the 94 draft site next to the records section. If it's too much work, I understand but just a thought.
  10. I'm not going off statistics, just my own experiences from playing the teams: Campbell F- Sergei Federov F- Brian Bradley F- Mark Recchi D- Phil Housley D- Ray Bourque G- Ed Belfour Wales F- Mario Lemieux F- Kirk Muller F- Dino Ciccarelli D- Al Iafrate D- Petr Svoboda G- Mike Richter
  11. In response to BHF's initial thread, I agree with pretty much everything he said. In fact, I think I am partially responsible for him mentioning the pulling your goalie early. In all honesty, that is the one time I've ever done that against an opponent but then again I can't remember the last time I was down by 10 goals. There was also only about 2-3 min left in the 3rd and I was trying to make a point that no goalie was going to produce more results than actually keeping my lobotomized steaming pile of mush in there. However, I would like to add to this list. Extend the courtesy of not skipping over the hot/cold lists - I know most people don't really consider it as an important factor but there are some out there like myself who will use this to determine if they're going to rearrange a line or change positioning around, especially if you have a backup who has about the same ability.
  12. Great series, A to the J. If only the game ended after the 1st period, I would be in a lot better shape right now. No lead was safe with you thanks to your persistent and diligent front line. I'm still trying to comprehend what happened to the 1-timers in our series since I thought they would play a much more significant offensive factor. I have no complaints about the uncontrollable gameplay that can sometimes take place when the NHL gods decide to frown on you, I simply was outplayed by a fierce competitor. Good luck to you in the rest of the playoffs.
  13. Best Overall Coach - Backhandfloater - amazing ability to adapt to all styles of play and take advantage of every possible weakness Best Sportsmanship Coach - Dmitri - made this entire league for everyone's fun. Had a tough season but still is getting ready to make a draft season 2. Best One-Timer Coach - AngryJay, Maybe not on the top of the list for 1-timer goals but great vision on the offense to incorporate all 3 shooters on his front line Best Deke Coach - Backhandfloater - if he sees an opening in your D, he drive the puck down your throat Best Slapshot Coach - I'm not really sure who I would choose for this category... There are a lot I could go with. Best Defensive Coach - BHF - whenever we played, i felt that the scoring was down b/c it was always the defensive battle Best Offensive Coach - Angry Jay - #4, #8, #13 point leaders in the league... enough said Most Improved Coach - KingCupRun - no question. I am still trying to comprehend how he picked this game up so quickly Best Coach With A Low Rated Team - N/A Best Replacement Coach - HABS - came in right after the draft to replace hokkeefan. I know he was having some challenges finding the right dynamic for his team but he managed to make it work and go to the playoffs Best Rookie Coach - Don't know who the rookies are since this is my first league Coach Who Stuck It Out Through The Hard Times - JJ2k - i know there's a few others that could be added to this list but JJ2k did it with a smile in a very unforgiving conference I added some new ones... Best Drafted Team - Gr8199 - Bradley and Roenick under the control of Gr81... it's a one-two punch that's tough for anyone to play against Best Goalie Control - Again this a tough category... It would be a split b/w BHF, Stumpy and Hurray
  14. AngryJay and I are scheduled to battle it out on Saturday afternoon. I hope everyone starts playing soon.
  15. Got ahold of monkeyjuice's brother last night... he said he's been sick for awhile. I just told him to pass on the message that we're looking to schedule our playoff game when he gets better. Hopefully we can get that in soon.
  16. Dmac and I finished up tonight. The guy has got a lot of raw talent for being new to the game. I see him definitely making strides sooner than later in the same fashion as KingsCup, DaDonche and jj2k. Great job to the new guys for sticking with it! And most of all, thank you to Dmitri for putting this together!
  17. Yeah, good player or not, he still didn't show up to play tonight when he said he would.
  18. I got on around 9 pm est tonight but I haven't been seeing Monkeyjuice around at all for the past couple days.
  19. Still think it would be fun to track injuries for the upcoming season. It would take a little extra effort from all coaches but would be cool if everyone was on board. I know it would probably be a very manual process, however, I would be willing to step up to do it.
  20. J, extremely entertaining to read through and love the analysis. I don't think you focused enough on your offensive super power of your front 3 as you should have. Take your pick on your go to guy in that squad. Series going 7 I would agree with... outcome though, I think it's a toss up. But your modesty is noted. I think you also forgot to mention that you can expect Hartford to cross crease at every chance. Stop that and I predict Ottawa in 4.
  21. Sorry guys, didn't know the forums were going to be on fire today. I've been on here for the past 2 days and didn't see much activity. I would prefer to get these 2 games in before moving forward... not to be difficult but I want to finish them regardless and would like to have some closure on the regular season before moving to the playoffs. Since AngryJ can't play before Friday, it looks like there's a couple days for DMAC, AddisonbrNHL (the new and improved) or whatever other person wants to play for Toronto. I really don't care who it is... I just want someone to help me finish my season. Whatever happens, when Friday morning comes, Jay and I will play our series with the standings as is.
  22. Skool, I think we can all agree that the conferences were a little lopsided. However, I think since this draft league is so new, it's a live and learn process. I'm sure that there will be some modifications so that there isn't such a discrepancy in the future. But you have to just shake it off. You're still one of the top coaches and I hope to see you around for next season.
  23. It's disappointing that a guy like Pilon, who has been involved in league play before, has decided to go MIA. Is dmac the final decision as the replacement Toronto coach? I just want to get these last 2 games finished. And dmac, if you are the coach, get yo green ass online so we can play. Welcome to the league. Better late than never.
  24. If dmac is up for it, his AIM is "maddmac94". Dmac, you should add this to your profile for nhl94.com
  25. I look forward to the first round of the playoffs against such a formidable opponent as AngryJay. I have a feeling that it will be a grueling series drenched in a bloodbath of offense. Good luck to you man!
