  1. Race to Avoid Last Place 15. edisaurusrex (QUE) 7-40-0-5, 19 points *4 games left* 16. jj2k (EDM) 7-41-0-3, 17 points *5 games left* 17. Magus978 (NJ) 6-42-0-5, 17 points *3 games left* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 18. DaDonch44 (TB) 7-43-0-2, 16 points *4 games left* Quebec should avoid last place easily, but the dogfight to stay out of the cellar will be between Edmonton, New Jersey, and Tampa Bay. Edmonton is playing with a lot of guts lately, and New Jersey has gone to the backups, so it looks like it'll come down to the last day's worth of games for both New Jersey and Tampa Bay. I figure one more win will secure non-last place status for either New Jersey or Tampa Bay, considering their records as of late, especially New Jersey's miserable 3rd double-digit losing streak of the season, currently at 11 *estimate*.
  2. Guess that takes you out of the offseason tournament for non-postseason teams, huh Habs?
  3. If that's the case, then he did what I drafted him to do
  4. You suck j/k Where are the titles since 1995? Devils have 3, the rest don't
  5. In the Devils' past few games, you may have noticed a few different faces out there. Yes, that's not Doug Gilmour playing center. That's veteran 2nd liner Paul Ysebaert getting a crack at the first line, along with Jari Kurri and Adam Graves. The reason? New Jersey has nothing to play for, and can't really move up. Coach Tom Delgado figures there's no reason to stretch his forward starters out any further, so he has been giving the reserve forwards more ice time in hopes of finding enough to re-draft them next season. "If I can bring Dougie back, he's coming back. The problem is with the rest of these guys. I need to see something out of Jari, Paul, and Adam to make me want to draft them again" Coach Delgado told the media after a lengthy hihatus from talking to them after games. New Jersey is currently 9th in the Wales Conference, at 6-42-0-5, good for only 17 points, and just 1 point clear of the Wales cellar, currently inhabited by Tampa Bay. "Position doesn't matter to us anymore, we know we're gonna finish at the bottom. No sense in trying to fight it, so I'm getting a look at our reserves now to see if there's any potential left for this group of guys." 6. well, it's basically the best 80's, 90's, and modern day players for each team, and a few of my personal picks Hence why Doug Gilmour will be both on the Devils and Maple Leafs, and why Wayne Gretzky will be on the Oilers, Kings, and Rangers. No 70's and earlier players allowed. This is the best and rest of the past 20 + years of NHL hockey.
  7. You gotta be careful about what you say. wboy has spent so much time doing NHL 94-related stuff for us hack makers. Anything that's construded into an insult his way isn't cool. I know this ain't the thread for it, but I personally would like to thank wboy for all his work on Nose and how much easier it has made my work on the Director's Cut of NHL 94! Much love to ya wboy, and to all the hack makers. We can't let these kinds of misunderstandings break out.
  8. We have a legit download link, I think. Download NHL 94 - The Director's Cut HERE! Lemme know if this link is screwed up, because I'll upload it somewhere else. See the first post for completed teams. That list might not be 100% accurate, but it should be. Post whatever complaints, raves, or death threats you have here
  9. Were you in the Draft league? If so, what team were you, and are you out of the playoffs
  10. Welcome I loved the uniforms they used for one season in 1997 before they went back to the old logo. I thought the fisherman logo was rather badass at the time
  11. Great job on the hack! Always nice to play with new teams and players
  12. I have resumed the project. I've already completed the Islanders and Mighty Ducks in addition to the other teams that are done. If someone would like to host this in-progress hack, IM me on AIM or PM me on here. I'm nearly 50% done Progress Report [ ] Team Rosters [ ] Overall Ratings [ ] Lines [X] Testing Notable Legends Added Mike Bossy Bryan Trottier Removed Eddie Giacomin - Mostly 70's.
  13. Nice job. Puts my 78 to shame Gonna have to work harder to catch up to you
  14. So yeah, I was screwing around with my hack, which I'm still doing some work on, and was playing Nashville @ New Jersey as the Devils. I won 4-3 in OT, but I think I came up with a record amount of hits in a game with 5 minute periods. You be the judge
  15. Okay, here are the general rules for this postseason tournament. So that each team gets at least 2 chances to advance, this is a double-elimination tournament. When the season is complete, I will put up brackets, and these will be based on points from this season. You have to lose twice to be eliminated. I will put an example of what the bracket would look like if the season ended today. This does not take into consideration that Vancouver's in the playoffs as of right now. 16. The joke about me being bad at this game is an old one. *Don't make me bust you up, n00b. * ** = Don't take that seriously. You'd probably beat me too
  17. We have 2 games to play Donch. Sometime tonight, I'll give you the chance to get 2 easy wins for yourself. I'll be playing my backups, since I'm not interested in getting Dougie his 50th goal. Won't have any meaning if it comes in a loss
  18. I wouldn't stay for 82, but I'd definitely sign for 30-40 games. I just can't take all those losses
  19. You're in 1st place in the Campbell Conference, backhandfloater. There's no way you won't be in the playoffs. Nice try though
  20. I'd play too, just spot me 10 or 15 wins in advance, since I'm only gonna win what, 5-8 more?
  21. I want to run a postseason tournament using the Draft League ROM for teams that did not make the official playoffs. Sign up here if you're not in the playoffs and would like to participate. 1. New Jersey Devils - SSiG (Magus978) 2. Edmonton Oilers - jj2k (jj2k 2006) 3. Calgary Flames - hokkeefan 4. Quebec Nordiques - edisaurusrex 5. Tampa Bay Lightning - DaDonch44
  22. As long as I get a 10-win head start, since I can't beat anyone with any talent
  23. I believe you Evan. Sorry if I caused a bit of an uproar because of my concern for low-ability players. I just don't want players feeling the same way I feel sometimes after getting my ass handed to me. I don't want players to be overwhelmed.
  24. I'd like to think I'm an advocate for the players of lesser ability, but I feel like I'm getting silenced in this arguement. What most people do not understand is that I'm not talking about myself among the terrible players. I meant awful in the sense that I'm not going to do enough damage in B to satisfy my relatively high standards. My concern is for those guys (or gals, if they ever come in here) who are going to play in organized leagues for the first time. Their first league experience, unless they are already very good, will be that of many many losses. That's not good for the psyche and confidence, I can attest to that. However, since my points are not being understood, I'll just stop trying to plead my case. Do whatever you want *shrug*.
  25. Playing competitive games is what the spirit of competition is all about. If the players are of equal ability, then it's going to be a very competitive game. There's nothing competitive about a game that's over 3 minutes into the first period because the better player has already scored 4 or 5 goals on an incredibly lesser player. There's no challenge for the elite player who plays against cupcake opposition and scores 20 goals against them. Grouping players by skill allows for more competitive games instead of some of the ones you see in the draft league (most of them involving me). Understand where I'm coming from in all of this. I still consider myself an awful player, and I don't want players like me to get mangled and embarassed on a regular basis. These kinds of players need to play competitive matches to boost their spirits. Don't you think a player of my ability would want to play if they knew that they had at least a fighting chance to win, instead of knowing that they're going to get smashed?
