Ok, so now I think it *can't* be Boston. Unless you are using reverse-reverse psychology? You know, if it wasn't for KO94 in my home town -- Toronto -- I probably wouldn't be playing online. I had joined the forum and even posted way back in 2005, but it took having the tourney in my hometown to get me to jump into things. Chicagio would be a great place! Was there once before and loved it. BUT! I am with you. Vegas would be sooo cool. I am a poker fan, and I would love to hit the poker tables at the best casinos in the world. Not to mention other Vegas attractions.

Note, I submitted this question to a Cray Titan supercomputrer -- one of the most powerful computers on earth as of 2017 -- and after 27 hours of furious computing it said there was a 57.66662% chance the KO94 2 would be held in Boston. I do not know how it came up with this figure, but it was the #1 choice. No other choices ranked higher than 20%.

As in Friday January 27th? Yeah, date is good, but definitely need the U.S. city soon. Big difference between Rochester NY and Honolulu, Hawaii. (Or maybe Anchorage, Alaska is a better example, given where you are from?)

Hey Depch, that is a ton of info to process there. And I thank you for your interest in improving performance, and creating a level playing field. To be clear, are you asking people to: 1. Using the current Gens, play some games with audio set at lowest level, and 2. Using a newer Gens (version 11 in link) try playing in various settings and see the effects? And finally, you are suggesting that if better settings are found (in current or newer Gens) that someone with technical skill: 3. "bake in these tweaks" to the official Gens that we will use? (That is, have them build in by default, not modifiable through .cfg overrides.) Do I have it right? Am I missing something? (I am just trying to understand you post completely before jumping in.)

Also it is hard to watch the 4:3 "square" and the blurry footage. (Thank God for widescreen and hi def!) Half the clips are so de-saturated they are almost black and white! What used to pass for "broadcast quality" is blown out of the water by the camera built into a phone these days. Gotta love technology!

I am hoping you have another event in September, that (once again) lines up with a Packers home game? Definitely makes it a bigger attraction to do the tourney and take in a game, too!

Well done, JMJ. I tried as much as I could with JR, you just stopped him cold. He did get the most SOG out of anyone in the series (on both teams), I just couldn't solve your goaltending. I would say my team was "cold", but that can't be the case for 4 games! I just got dominated, plain and simple. And yeah, 11% shooing % for a series is ridiiiiiiiiculous. On www.nhl94rocks.com I am pretty sure there have been no examples of a shooting % as low as the teens, nevermind 11%!

I notice lot of people commenting in AIM about the feel and different gameplay of the new ROM. But AIM is fleeting, and I am sure I miss half the comments because I am not around at the time. The ROM definitely feels faster to me. Not sure if it is just because of few whistles (no PIMS)? Or maybe less delay because of few line change options? Or if it is because everyone has an allstar team, so there are more fast guys on ice at the same time? (I had thought I saw that Plabax moidified the ROM somehow to speed things up frame-wise, but can't find that info anymore, so maybe I misinterpreted something?) Favorite thing so far: knocking out a dude WITHOUT GETTING A PENALTY! Love it! Finally a reward for a good hit. Makes me think of Scott Stevens laying out Eric Lindros back in the day. Also, I do feel like scoring will be down, or it has been in the games I have seen. My guess is this is because the PIMs are off, so no power plays and especially no penalty shots. As well as the goalie boost. So despite having better talent, the bump in offense is offset by no PIMs and better goalies. What have you guys noticed?

Hey JMJ, can we schedule our game here? I sent you AIM messages, but they don't always show up in my different devices and computers, so I am not 100% sure you receive them? This Saturday or Sunday I can play at 11am EST. (I think you are 7 hours ahead, which means 6pm in Finland.) Does this work for you? Note: My usual playing times are 8pm and on, but this is unlikely to be workable for you. Unfortunately, for mornings it will have to be Saturday or Sunday, but because of family commitments those windows are small... EDIT: The bolded part had wrong time (but math was right)...

If you are wrong about this, this will be an issue for sure. (Hope it doesn't result in a crash.) But with the draft being (almost) done, and so many people playing the ROM in December, I am sure we will find out what happens, because for sure there will be a 2 injury game (and maybe even a 3 injury game.)
