  1. For those wondering where to stay, the Hotel J is a 2 minute walk away from the venue, or a 10 minute crawl if you overindulge. Hotel J Address: 2620 S Packerland Dr, Green Bay, WI 54313 Phone: (920) 499-1900
  2. So far we have a good start on signups. We have collected 10 payments in less than 3 days, and have a total of 28 verbal commitments. Here are the paid states/territories represented so far: Wisconsin, Missouri, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Ontario Canada, Illinois
  3. The only concern I have is that this uses a 3rd party to facilitate the connection if I understand correctly. If for some reason it goes away, then after a long hiatus, getting folks setup the old way could be an issue again.
  4. I'm updating my post based on a changed heart on this. I am for the next King of 94 tournament not being in WI, unless we joined forces to have it held in Green Bay or close by. With the improved interest/turnout/timing in our Green Bay tournament, I'm certain that an annual NHL94 event in Madison in April would negatively affect what we've been trying to do in Green Bay. At this point we can't compete with a 300 body retro spectacle, and if a marriage of sorts did take place, we'd be unlikely to attract a duplicate contingent to WI every year. Keep the tournament out of the winter and out of the same state, and we still have a somewhat unique offering that people will travel to every year. Our goal is to be late February every year moving forward. Doing the opposite might spell the end of our humble, but attractive event. I hope you will all consider our Green Bay tournament in February to be an audition of sorts. Talk to those that attend it, @kingraph @angryjay93 @corbettkb @jer_33 @smozoma etc, and get their opinion if we have our house in order. I truly believe this community has the ability to stand on its own, and doesn't need to be the opening act to anything else. It just needs time, watering, and guys running tournaments in their areas of the country, constantly carrying the NHL94 torch. That doesn't mean we can't network with other communities, but we don't know the intentions of those outside of the community. You run a great event @halifax
  5. I concur with @kingraph. Any sort of sale of a rom like that of current player likenesses is most likely at best, a grey area, especially since they typically have player portraits accompany the names.
  6. So far we have a good start on signups. We have 8 out of the verbalized 26 players, and 4 of those 26 players are staff related, so it's over a 1/3 paid in already, with just under 2 months to go! Here are the paid states/territories represented so far: Wisconsin, Missouri, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York
  7. Happy New Year everyone! I've decided to get this form out there a bit early. I linked this form in the main topic, but you can also click here to get started. You are not considered signed up officially until this is filled out, and payment is sent to lock in your spot. https://goo.gl/forms/h4P4EyxNmxvACEgm2
  8. I'd love to host a 64 player tournament in Green Bay, but so far the demand hasn't been there so far, or we aren't doing a good enough job getting the word out.(that's what the commercial we are shooting tomorrow is going to help combat) We are aiming for 32 in February, and expecting at least 25% of that to be players from this forum/online players. I think a tournament of any kind really starts getting notoriety and recognition once the traveling base equals or exceeds the local base, and then growth explodes. You start seeing road trips planned with buds from all over making a weekend of it. Locals meet road warriors, and new friendships are formed. Soon after that, another road warrior gets the idea to do something in their hometown, and the tournament scene keeps expanding, each organizer adding their own twist. Not everyone can hit the road(I'm pretty much in that boat, thus why I run events), but I'll share liberally any NHL94 tournament that needs exposure on social media, and I'd hope that you'd all take 30 seconds to do the same. Like posts, retweet, share, tag friends, that sort of thing, and if at all possibly, actually go to said events and write a review on their page.
  9. @RecordBreaker come join the madness in Green Bay February 24th.
  10. @corbettkb informed me he is booking his flight this week, and @kingraph has already done so. @CoachMac is flying in and riding up with Brutus
  11. This is the bible as far as I'm concerned when it comes to video output options.
  12. HFD LW Fleury C Sandstrom RW Sundin LD Schneider RD Daigneault G Barasso
  13. Green Bay's 'Piano Man' Dan Rafferty has just been secured as our live organist for our NHL94 tournament! Dan is 1/2 of Dueling Piano duo, NEW Piano Guys. His piano improvisation has entertained Northeast Wisconsin for the greater part of 25 years. Talented, yes! Bald, you bet! Entertaining, you be the judge! Dan will be accompanying tournament organizer Troy "Trojan" Frisque in the opening ceremonies with both national anthems, Oh Canada, and The Star Spangled Banner! Dan will also fill the air with familiar hockey arena riffs heard at hockey games world wide!
  14. This post is for Arda Ocal. King of 94 - WI proudly presents, A Fleury of Goals, an NHL94 tournament for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. On February 24th, 2018 the world's best 16 bit hockey players will descend upon the Edge VR Arcade in Green Bay, WI, to compete for bragging rights, cash prizes, and the coveted Lord Manly's Cup! #AFleuryofGoals is the organization's 3rd NHL94 tournament, which welcomes two time defending champion, AngryJay93, from Sacramento California to defend his crown. I, Arda Ocal will be present, calling action for tournaments on both the Super Nintendo, and the Sega Genesis. Think you've got what it takes to be the King of 94? Make the journey to Green Bay, WI to find out! Prepay for the event starts January 1st, 2018. You may RSVP your intentions by joining the Facebook event here http://tinyurl.com/NHL94WI. 15. What are you bringing to swap at the tournament? Hopefully something better than this.
  16. With the passing of HFD #NHL94 player #ZarleyZalapski, we will be honoring him in the tournament by awarding a prize to whoever has the most total points(goals, assists) scored by Zalapski in group play. It's time to start practicing matchups with Hartford! Just take a picture of the scoring summary after the match has concluded. Stay tuned for a future update involving a side challenge featuring tournament namesake Theo Fleury!
  17. @kingraph confirmed he booked his flight today, so he's in! I'll be meeting with the venue owners tomorrow to discuss the creation of a promotional video, as well as getting that waiver created. I'm hoping in a couple weeks to have signups official for Paypal.
