  1. The site is down temporarily for a security upgrade:
  2. Records page is up now: http://www.blitz94.com/records.asp I still have to make it work with seasons and A/B leagues, though... right now it's just all-time records, A and B leagues combined.

  4. In short 1) set Bandwidth to High (we're not on 28.8k fax modems anymore!) 2) when you set up a game, watch the number beside your opponent's name (this is their ping/latency) and try to set the Latency slider to the lowest setting ABOVE the highest latency number you often see (so if you regularly see numbers up to 57, then try to set to slider to around 60... if you see a higher number once every 4-5 seconds, ignore it).

  6. Gihtarman given VAN (replaces JacketsZherdev) sorry Jackets -- it's been over a week since your last forum visit, and with the season only 3 weeks from the end, I needed a guy I knew would play games. The next season will start in January, I'll give you a team then if you're around.
  7. The one problem with Kega is that it's not open source. What this means is that only one person can edit it, the guy who wrote the whole thing, Steve Snake (apparently his real name!). The reason it's closed-source, I gather, is that he made some sort of deal with SEGA to improve the emulator.. I think they gave him some code to improve the emulator, and he promised to keep it closed-source, or something like that. The great thing about Gens is that anyone can edit it and make their own versions. This led to video recording, debug mode (which is used for pretty much all game code hacks), and so on. BTW, I got in contact with the Kega author, and he says he'll enable saving via the F5 key and changing save slots via F6/F7 in the next version of Kega. I'm not sure when the next version is coming, but I think it's relatively soon (months, i guess.. last release was early 2006)
  8. Wasn't skool always first on the waiting list?

    GWG !

The game records goals for goalies in their "goals against" stat, so when a goalie scores a goal, they actually end up with one extra goal-against in the stats. They also get an extra shot-against, I think.
  10. "A" has 10 teams. "B" has 9 teams. 2 and 1 teams are left out, respectively. The league will expand a bit after this season (at least, I hope it will... there aren't as many coaches as I thought there would be). The goal is to eventually have 12 and 12 teams, with two 8-team playoffs.
  11. Ah yes, i really should get all that stuff up on the website. Basically, 8 teams make the playoffs in each of "A" and "B". 1v8, etc.
  12. Sorry, that came out a bit harsher than intended! Was trying to express joking exasperation (but still hoping the yzerspam would stop!)
  13. quit it guys from what i can tell, the double account thing was meant as a joke
  14. Thanks, it's nice to see all of "A" over 20 games at this point.
  15. This is the DEADLINES thread, not the brag about your yzerman stats thread. 3 times in 24 hours! We get it, you're doing well with Yzerman, congrats! Please stop now.
  16. Let's not forget: Scott Stevens - GP 31 - CkF 221 on pace for 313 checks still nothing compared to Lindros, on pace for 535 checks.
  17. I'll see some time if i can track down the source code.. the kega site doesn't have it. I think it's closed-source, though, so I wouldnt' be able to hack that in.
  18. Correct. I am encouraging guys to keep on pace for the next checkpoint (30 on 11/11). The final checkpoint is a big one, too, 14 games in 2 weeks, rather than the usual 10 in 2 weeks, so ideally guys will be ahead of the checkpoints if possible.
  19. Keep up the good pace guys Everyone should be aiming to have 25 games played by the end of this weekend. Stragglers: "A": sebe82 - 15 - really need to pick it up, 10 games behind (that's just 2.5 hours) skoolyardpuck - 18 - doing all right considering you're a replacement coach Icestorm NHL94 - 20 - little bit slow thegr8199kings - 21 - little bit slow "B": Flamingpavelbure - 9+ - Just started, but setting a good pace Dervin36 - 15 - still lagging, but won't be as busy starting in a week or so sonoffett87 - 15 - not bad for a replacement coach JacketsZherdev - 20 - still hasn't played or responded to forum PM. I'm concerned about Sebe, Dervin, and Jackets; I'd like to see you guys play some games this week before the next checkpoint!
  20. you can't compare modern games with games on emulators -- modern games have network compensation built right in to make them feel more responsive (although funny things can happen like getting shot after you've rounded a corner because in the other guy's screen, you weren't around the corner yet). what causes lag in gens/kaillera is the network lag, though, and kaillera can't compensate for it (though p2p smoothing works nicely for me 90+% of the time). perhaps zsnes is p2p under the hood (server just sets up the game) and has smoothing built in. we agree, we just lay the blame differently.. game lag is caused because kaillera doesn't handle network lag well.
