  1. Not the most exciting way, but just a loophole I thought might work: Set up first round as A vs A, A vs A, B vs B, B vs B, C vs C, C vs C, D vs D, and D vs D Program the 0-second periods/instant overtime hack in as an option Player plays the OT, even if they lose they'll stay in because the game will recognize their selected team and keep them Real games would start in Round 3, with A vs B and C vs D, where player would then be able to play with real periods I haven't tested it since it was just an idea off the dome, but it seems like it might work.
  2. Wow. Just wow. Do you have an .xml file for the locatons of different graphics in the game? I'd love to take a stab at editing it myself.
  3. That's tough, maybe Palat over Purcell? Similar numbers in their best seasons, but Palat wears the A, was a solid part of every extended run Tampa has had. Still looks awesome man!
  4. Question: is Palat going to be on Tampa but out of the line up? Just curious since he's under extras. Would be fun to roll the Triplets line again!
  5. Tampa fan here: would love to see Ruslan Fedetenko simply because of his stature in the 2004 Cup Run, and of course, NHL '94 appearing player, and our first star, Brian Bradley!3
  6. Slapshot is releasing a sequel/update, have you seen that? Hopefully it’s good.
  7. Rereading, I wasn’t very clear. I’m moving in the fall for school, so I won’t have Ethernet. I’d rather not leave it to chance with wireless, so I’m officially out for this league.
  8. Others worth noting: the NHL's own Rinksters, an attempt at copying NFL Rush Zone that lasted only a short while. There was also Upper Deck U, where you could crack open hockey cards to earn rewards, and hang out in a community with all 4 major North American sports. Kiekko.tk was also pretty big in Europe. I think there's some sort of sim league too, more so an MMORPG than a competitive MMO.
  9. I have to withdraw from whatever league I am being placed in. Unsure that I will have a wired connection this fall, and would rather not risk it. I will be able to close out Summer Salary Cap league, but just don't think I'll be able to plug in (literally) for the entirety of the classic season.
  10. I'll C myself down to the bottom division.
  11. I can neither confirm or deny these allegations
  12. Sorry, we've already started. Do you want to hop on the waitlist?
  13. We were planning on going with line changes since it made things a bit more fresh, but I'll poll the group signed up so far to see how people would feel about turning them off. Edit: Board of Govs met, they've been turned off. You're in.
  14. Doesn't seem like they're in this rom. Do you have a second choice on the list in the first post, and that isn't taken?
  15. Hi all, I've updated forum with first 12 hours of so of sign-ups, hopefully we get some more so we can set a cap at nice power of 2, so no one gets a bye. In the mean time, please download this version of the ROM for the tournament. The only difference is that OT is 100 minutes as opposed to 20, the menu is set to our default settings mentioned in the first post, and 3 Stars formula is updated for line changes. If you haven't played online much before, I'd be happy to help some people set up tonight, but frankly I can't teach you anything the tutorials here can't already. Please download the tournament version of the ROM so things can run smoothly once we get started, attached here: 2020 Frozen Four Tournament.bin
  16. That sounds like an important piece that someone who is running on 6 hours of sleep like myself might’ve forgotten . Just comment your team of choice, and for people I haven’t interacted with on Discord, comment your handle there as well so I can find you!
  17. 'Update: Sign-ups are closed, and we have begun playing! Follow along with the bracket at this link, and let me know if any issues arise. Please report scores via Discord DM, and try to have 1st Round done by end of the week. Hi all, Thanks to @Jkline3's amazing work, a few of us have been discussing a tournament using the ROM. Rules Best-of-5 Bracket, with Best-of-7 Finals. If we get enough players, we will also do consolation bracket. Top seed gets home 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 7th games. Line changes off, 1-minute penalties on with no offside, and manual goalie. Once we finalize list, we'll set deadlines for playing. Ideally we'd get this over with in a week or two. There will be no changes to the ROM aside from setting OT to 99 minutes. If you haven't played the ROM, check it out here: If you want to look at all the team's ratings as a whole, I've exported the data to a Google Sheet which you can find here. And if you just want a list of the teams, there is one below directly from NOSE. Sign-ups (please comment your team as well as your Discord if we've never talked on there). 1. @seamor - Boston University 2. @clockwise - Penn State 3. @lego - Harvard 4. @danTML7 - Omaha 5. @BigValboski - North Dakota 6. @Tess - Minnesota State 7. @dmm1000 - Clarkson 8. @kidswasted - Boston College 9. @Triple A - Michigan 10. @niuhuskie224 - Wisconsin 11. @Mitch Kramer - Cornell 12. @LABS_66 - Denver 13. @TecmoJon - Minnesota-Duluth (because Minnesota was too bad apparently) 14. @BVish - THE Ohio State University 15. @MikeGartner22 - Sacred Heart 16. @#KentuckyWindage - Providence Interested @JSchmidt - Northeastern We will be playing with this ROM, as to eliminate ties, and make set up on game days a bit easier: 2020 Frozen Four Tournament - Final.bin
  18. I'd be down to organize this, I am not too experienced with doing it here, but usually I'm the guy in charge of keeping standings/brackets when my friends and I play. @-ing everyone who expressed interest just to keep everyone on same page so we can try to figure out how to go about this. @clockwise, @BigValboski, @kidswasted, @lego
  19. Just forwarded this to a buddy I have who plays on Maine. This is one of the best done roms I've played in such a long time, amazing work.
  20. Thanks for the insight, I’ll have to get a V2 out at some point this week with a fix! Appreciate all the work you did to pave the way for this to happen, it’s really amazing stuff.
  21. Hi all! I noticed there wasn't a roster update for this year on NHLPA '93, and I figured with Slapshot67's 32 team base, it would be a fun project to take up (and also get some more documentation on editing '93, since there's nothing out there compared to '94). Features Obviously fighting is back! Still working on trying to match the rate of fights in the NHL today with the AI, but that's what updates are for I suppose. (v1) 31-teams all updated, with a bonus 32nd team with myself and friends, but also quite a few "cheat code players", which I recommend checking out yourself. Expect the unexpected! (v1) Ron Barr has been replaced with Paul Bissonnette, and each team has gotten a brief write-up. (v1) Each team's roster has the top-9 forwards, top-6 defenseman, and top goalie based on a mixture of personal opinion, depth charts, and ratings. I used a mixture of performance from this season, reputation, "advanced" stats, and ratings from other games (other roster updates on forum, NHL 20, FHM 6, etc) to create the ratings/line-ups. If there's any major disagreement or error, please let me know via Discord. (v1) Known Bugs/Issues The game has crashed when it sits on screen where Zamboni drives across rink. Unsure of cause, but I believe I've patched it out at this point. If this continues, please let me know via Discord. (v1) Banner for 32nd team shows up wonky, unsure of fix. '93 uses 10 tile banners with an extension as opposed to the 12 we see in '94. (v1) I am still searching for the hex where the team ratings that are read off on the Ron Barr/BizNasty screen are stored in the ROM. No, I do not think the Sharks should have the same rating as the Blues. If anyone knows where these values are kept in '93, please let me know. (v1) The game automatically will start the team's worst goaltender at random, so to fight this, I just only gave each team one goalie, aside from some of the rosters where the position is being fought for. (v1) Special thanks to Slapshot67 for creating the 32-team rom, but also documenting a good amount of the work for the 30-team rom, so I could try to understand this version as much as possible. 23. I was literally just working on something like this using the old one we fixed the line editing on! Same wavelength I guess. Mine is a bit more arcadey, so I'll try to embrace that and change things up so I'm not stepping on any toes when I share. As always, awesome work!
  24. This is probably the best option for custom roms, it'll just take some spreadsheet work on your end to add stats together. I think there's a season tracker somewhere, but it only works with original game.
