Going to an NHL'94 Live Tournament Guide Notes
clockwise replied to kingraph's topic in Other NHL'94 Live Tournaments
I plan on hosting a live tourney in Philly with like 10 PVMs. Just gotta find the right place / atmosphere. With the way things are going we'd need everyone to bring their own ballistic helmets and body armor; I'll rent a Hummer for transport. -
Remember the good old days in the 90's, before national stereotypes? When all Americans looked like Guile from Street Fighter. I miss those days. This is also MFW I get cheese-rammed

NHL 94 Petition to get NHL 94 on the Nintendo Switch Online
clockwise replied to mylounge's topic in NHL'94 Community
Does EA even release titles on Nintendo these days? I was a lieutenant colonel from in the first console wars, but I've been out of the loop for a while. I feel like the 30th anniversary would probably be our best shot to get EA to do this. I think we are far better off, as a community, rebuilding the game ourselves with a team of competent developers that respect and love the era in which this game was created. -

Originally was going to use Philly, but I'll be running MTL after I had some really good exis. 3 shut outs in a row and a couple wins after. Won a league with them back in the day. -
@kingraph Good to know. I was primarily focused on the boards, ice and net, but maybe I can find a way to make it work.

Looking at Mutant League Hockey, the rink layout appears to be almost a 100% match and I think I can probably import and rearrange the tiles to give this a more post-apocalyptic feel. Maybe keep the spiked puck, too?
-
They are in there and so are the DC super heroes... Considering doing the villains but be hard to represent them on the ice. It's easy for a team like the Lizard People (green faces) etc.
-
This is a good one translates well for a team.

No idea was this is but it looks AWESOME!

B-list actors is in consideration. Also considering the Food Truck Hipsters... Not really sure how to do the UNIS. Only a couple spots left. I'll be check marking the locked-in teams sometime this weekend.

West coast billionaires need to have exo mech suits. So we can have mecha-Bezos. @DeterminedApathy shadow team is something I had in mind, but ninjas. Or same thing, really. And yes! Probably going to be doing a Republican and Democrat teams, too.

This is a half baked ROM hack from 10 years ago that I never finished but was considering completing it little by little as my last project ever. The concept is this: the fate of the world depends on winning the Stanley Cup... Plot is a little thin, but it's a work in progress Here are the teams so far: Wu-Tang Clan Predators (invisible skaters) Jeremy Roenick (with no goalie / empty net) Middle Earth Lizard People WWF Marvel Super Heroes DC Super Heroes Cosa Nostra Chicago Gangsters Tech Support San Quentin, Death-Row Fugitives (from old 2on2, league rom) MemeStars West Coast Billionaires NHL'94 All-Stars The Warriors Storm Troopers Retirement Home Seniors Hades Undead Skeletons Vaticans Woodstock Hippies Japan Yakuza Bloods Crips Russian Mafia Shaolin Monks Ninjas Democrats Republicans Pimps B-Listers Phantoms Russian All-Stars Open to any suggestions. The crazier the better. Maybe we can squeeze in a Mutant League Hockey Team. Bolded = confirmed teams

Probably. Every time I see this thread my eyes read, "Law and Order, in NHL'94 ROM." I need new reading glasses.

I think the fact that he was pretty much the first guy in the space, in 2005, helps him a lot. -
It's tricky to do, but I'll do a 2on2 one, probably with ppl getting stapled to the boards. But the team is the Mickey-Mouse-era-Devils.
