  4. Not sure what the guidelines are (didn't see listed as violating the guidelines) and not trying to make this a craigslist but, if any Canucks fans here would like to see this new hat I have for free PM me. Winter helmet style. I hate the Canucks more than Detroit now. I think Canadian mail is pretty cheap for you to cover to see this great hat from the States. Or, in October, I will have family visiting from Toronto and going back just in time for winter. I could give them the hat to bring back to Canada to mail to you in Vancouver. Not sure what would really be cheaper. Long story how I got it. Halifax? hokkee? You've both helped me in the forums, yours for the taking. Anyone? I guess first one who responds takes it.
  5. Hey guys, if this has already been asked and there is a thread about it feel free to delete it or move it. I don't think so from what I can remember. I've gone through almost every topic when I got back into this website to see what I missed. I wanted to make this topic for you all to post how you stumbled upon this website and what made you join? Share your story. Something a little more elaborate then google. What made you think of '94 to google it in the first place? Mine is: in a nutshell: I went to a hockey tourny in Toronto around '04-'05 and ended up rooming with a teammate who is older than me. He asked me if I brought NHL '94 with and I kinda looked at him like he was crazy. I haven't played that game since I was a kid. I asked him with my thick Chicago accent, "Whatcha mean?" He tells me back in 1994 when all the guys were younger, my Dad brought the Sega Genesis up there on another tourny with a brand spankin' new '94 and half the guys stayed in the hotel and played it all night while the other half went to the titty bars. On the whole tour bus ride home, I kept thinking about '94 and how I don't really even remember it because it's been so long, plus I was thinking what a shame what happened to Detroit as we went through it. So, as soon as I got home I was on a mission. I went to Funcoland to buy the console and the game. No luck, the guy behind the counter tells me they stopped carrying stuff that old. The original playstation was about the oldest stuff they still sell. So I went on ebay. 10 bids, 2 systems, 1 cd system, 1 rare 4-way adapter, 8 controllers, two '94 games, 1 cd game, and around $300 dollars later I was back in business! Only to type in NHL '94 in yahoo and come across this site in '05 to find out all I had to do was download something computer related called an emulator and another weird computer related thing called a ROM to play again Fudge. I hate computers. Being computer shy (really computer shy at that time) I decided to join in '06 I think and not right away in '05. From what I remember, the site in '05 was pretty basic compared to now being in it's infancy. But it took me until now to attempt to play online, this is my first season. Not as difficult as I thought. With the help from you guys, you made it possible for me. You know who you are. What about you guys? What about you Rob? I was kinda shocked you also joined in '06 but really started coming around now in '11 like me.
  6. thanks. But doncha' think that he is very knowledgeable then if he is predicting stuff in the future? Smozoma, that was one of the best replys you've ever written. Thanks. I learned a lot from that.
  7. '91 started it all. '92 might of been similar to '91 but both were kinda different than '93. One of them had city names instead of team names but I forgot which one now. I remember being disappointed as a kid with that and specifically remember "who the heck is Long Island?" I think it started off with '91 had team names, then around '92 they had to use city names because of something to do with the NHLPA copyrights?
  8. Man, it's been a long time. But from what I remember, '93 had the fights and the blood and '92 didn't. Wait, now that I think about it, '92 also had fights, but no blood. I think I even had '91. That had no fights, and scoring was pretty simple. Here, check this out. This might help a little: http://nhl91.com/
  9. I know what you fellow Americens Americans are thinking... WTF is an Acadien Acadian? Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acadians Pretty interesting. I'm one step closer to figuring out this whole French occupied territory of Canada and Quebec and Montreal and how it's different from the rest of Canada. It's actually kind of neat to me since I enjoy history but have no clue of Canada's. I guess it's kinda like the old North/South of America. I mean, no way similar but that's the only example I can relate to from my country. My friend was trying to explain things to me telling me that Quebec wants to be it's own country and seperate from Canada since their French. What about Montreal? What's the population of French in Quebec? 90%? Who is French from this site and can you tell me/us how you feel/where you stand about your ancestors history occupying a part of Canada?
  10. I believe I was home but have to ask kupuck. pretty sure i was home. should I post the scores in this thread or the other one? im all over the place I noticed.

  12. oh yeah, about 50 offsides too. so dumb
  13. Interesting. I didn't know that. Does he have something against the French or something? How does he feel about the Canadiens? Least favorite hockey team then? Really the only thing I know about the guy is: from my viewpoint: -He wears loud clothing. -He only likes Canadien players and really takes it personal when more and more European players are coming into the league. I think he feels they are wussies, don't like to play hard, go into the corners and muck it up etc. Which I'm not disagreeing with him there. But like I said, I hardly ever see his show so I don't know what he says about the likes of Patrick Kane or Parise. -The Boston Bruins anthem. I was shocked he stuck up for the Bruins fans and called the Canadien's fans classless. As far as the military tributes go, I'm for them. I didn't know he does it for every episode. How long has that been for? I guess I can see where people are coming from when they watch a hockey show they want to see hockey and not military but, trying not to open a can of worms on what each of us feels about these wars, these guys did give their lives for us and 5 minutes for a life really isn't that bad. I wonder if this was his personal decision or the tv company's? I can see him saying 'f**k it it's my show, this is how I feel about these soldiers and I'm going to do what I want on my show.' He seems to have that attitude to me.
  14. burn it as soon as you are done reading it.
  15. guess as close as possible. some stats are better than none. you'll remember some goals at least.
  16. just a glitch I believe. It only happens once in awhile, but sometimes it does happen at the best possible time and you leave the goalie in quicksand as you go to the backhand and have bad flashback's of '95. It's been mentioned before in some thread I came across. I forget which one. Type in 'Sscchhh' in the search bar and see what pops up. lol

  18. hey guys, This topic has been popping in and out of my head for several months now and finally made the decision to post a topic about it out of curiosity. Basically, I wanted to know what your opinions are on the man Don Cherry, and can give me reasons why you like or don't like him? What do you think of when you see him? I know to you Canadian guys he's nothing new, but put yourself in my shoes, or RWD's shoes being in another country that likes soccer, or other Americans who can't watch his program on a consistent basis because he isn't televised (maybe I'm showing my age because I can't watch his program ever, can other Americans watch it through satellite or something?). There might be guys out there who never heard of this man. I went to Canada a few times recently for some good old fashioned Polish weddings in the Toronto area and let me tell you, Canada is a cool country. I mean, it's pretty, some parts are anyway, some parts of Toronto are pretty ugly with lack of trees and the way the roads and highways are which I was surprised. But, coming from the shithole of chicago where I have to worry about anything and everything it was a cool ('wicked' as Toronto people say) trip. Relaxing, hockey is on every channel! On the news, highlights, sometimes they show the Blue Jays and mention the CFL but mainly hockey on the hotel room tv. Which leads me to my point. I can't get this Don Cherry show out of my head. He made a special part of his segment dedicated to the Canadien servicemen who lost their lives in combat. I couldn't believe it. It was special, I mean this guy took a break from talking hockey and showing how cheap the Bruins are to start talking about this Canadian soldier who died in Afghanistan. And he didn't rush it at all. Nothing like filler, like, here I go have to report about the soldiers now. No, HE WANTED TO DO IT. You can tell by what he was saying, it almost looked like he was gonna cry. I remember him saying specifically, "I want everyone to look at those pretty blue eyes this young guy had, 22 years old, dying for us." The only thing I knew about Don Cherry is my rockem sockem video my Dad gave me for Christmas in '94. He is a class act in my book. I wish they aired his show in Chicago. But anyway, I want to know what the Canadien guys feel about him. Is he a pain in the ass? Too opinionated?
  19. why is it when you are racing against the computer for icing no matter if you have a stride or two on him, somehow the computer always gets to it first!? Sometimes I have to go to instant replay because I can't believe my eyes, my guy got there first, the computer is right behind me but he touched it before me. It's a cheat or a glitch.
  20. if you noober scoobers remember, can you please also write down the number of penalties called during the game for both teams and include that along with the player stats? As I write this I didn't even do it for my last two games against san jose but also experienced a lot more penalties than usual. I mean I played this game long enough to feel when something is not quite right. It seems to give you penalties in bunches. Ref drops the whistle, immediate penalty caused by the computer, then another one, then 20 seconds later another one. Sometimes, bam!, you have 3 guys in the box in a minute and a half. Maybe it's my imagination. I think this way we can give Smoz an idea if tinkering with checking ratings affects penalties. I doubt it but it's a good control group experiment.
  21. to remind me of the shalaking Kingraph gave me and to never ever be beat like that again by him. IT'S GONNA BE A DIFFERENT STORY NEXT TIME KINGRAPH. You've awoken the Windy City Giant.
