  1. features my non-edited capture of the action.
  2. yep. I only have a few minutes right now, so I'm sorry that this post is (currently) just a list. -lack of QUE -lack of SNES -font spacing -92/93/94/95/Gens/SNES/CD/PC/etc. options -additional text -options like player cards, Barr screens -tons more base images you've done good work so far and I'm excited that you would be considerate of improving it.
  3. there are so many things wrong with this....
  4. non-fatique endurance. not the likelihood/rate of getting tired but of getting injured/separated from the puck.
  5. you can get injured in the wide open or next to the net or near the boards. you can be so close to the boards that your sprawled limbs overlap the boards. I don't figure it's any different on the systems other than SNES. this is a great topic and I hope we eventually get an ASM expert to spill the guts of the game for us.
  6. I haven't received any corrections since this went up. surely lots of trades/calls up and the likes have occurred and I'll get to that stuff again right after the trade deadline, but I was expecting some folks to find more spelling/weight/handedness/jersey number errors and the likes. I guess the intense review this thing got from one diligent betatester caught (almost) everything, but if you see something that isn't right, please do let me know.
  7. there's a whole section for this and there are threads already defining this stuff. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/forum/176-player-ratings/
  8. try the fifth player. overall player ratings were intended to be heavily weighted by plus-minus divided by total time on ice. shooting, pass bias and reputation ratings are converted from the player's statistics (mostly last season's). speed, agility and shot power ratings were gathered from knowledgeable persons for almost every player/team and adjusted to generally hold leaguewide as comparable and scaled (these are probably the ratings that could use the most adjustment, as many of them are from several years ago -- everybody is always free and encouraged to suggest changes, especially for speed and shot power). checking and awarenesses (and passing ratings, to some extent) were used to give variety and align the overall ratings. it's a weird system, but I insist that it works. I put a lot of time into generating ratings and I also play a lot of games with whatever my newest ROM is at the time. I very much believe that this method would give the best simulations if you tried to get customized ROMs to generate stats to be compiled like a regular season. players seem to have personality. those lazy (low awareness) players usually still have skills and don't seem flounder too badly when they have the puck or you are skating with them because you are controlling them and their skills take over. thanks for playing. please reply with any further comments/questions/complaints/critiques/etc.
  9. always with line changes. I should have included endurance... fours for offense and defense. I went back and added those key ratings to my lists and put them all in order of importance.
  10. Forwards Shot Accuracy - 5 Speed - 4 Agility - 4 Endurance - 4 Stick Handling - 3 Pass Accuracy - 3 Shot Power - 3 Offense - 2 Weight - 2 Checking - 2 Defense - 1 Defensemen Speed - 4 Pass Accuracy - 4 Shot Accuracy - 4 Shot Power - 4 Endurance - 4 Agility - 3 Weight - 3 Stick Handling - 3 Checking - 3 Defense - 2 Offense - 2 Goaltenders Agility - 4 Puck Control - 4 Left Glove - 4 Right Glove - 4 Right Stick - 3 Left Stick - 3 Weight - 2 Defense - 1
  11. right, but on the Genesis the goalie control is awkward and delayed... why wouldn't you use the hack to add instant goaltender control? I mean for nostalgia or whatever you play the original ROM, but if you are making a hack I can't understand a reason for not fixing the major flaws in the original. goalie control and weight fail fixes are crucial. roaming is cool. I'd like to allow a bit more roaming in my ROMs. would you free them totally or just a bit?
  12. my aunt, Nancy, is visiting tomorrow. are you saying she'll be late? what does the latency option do?
  13. why wouldn't you have the goalies on?
  14. ZSNES: video config > hq filter - very pretty and pretty much the only reason I use this emulator at all (SNES9x seems to be much more accurate) ZSNES: input device > 1-5 - sets controllers ZSNES: F1 > save snapshot - takes screenshot what options do you enable in your emulator?
  15. there are medium-sized shadows under each player. blue, green, yellow, orange and red are players one through five. there are no arrows, stars nor numbers on the playing surface. oh, and I forgot to mention that most ratings are from last season with some additions and adjustments, but a full adjustment of stats/ratings will come after a much more statistically relevant number of games has been played this season. the next major update will probably be soon after the trade deadline.
  16. I am always seeking help and corrections and comments; if something seems wrong, please report it to me. if you want to see your player more clearly, you can activate the multitap option and use the shadow colors from the other end of the visible spectrum. have fun. --- if you don't agree to every term that follows below, don't download a copy.
