Look on the Ron Barr screen at the beginning it should show the Home Ice Advantage. And believe me set at 4 it is very noticeable. How did you do back in the day playing on the console with the Original game? .500? Better? Win the Cup in Playoff mode?

A. Yes, that is how you do it. B. Yes, with TM. C. OK. D. Again in TM you can find this info just above the team rosters for each team. Home Ice Advantage can be set from 0-4. Originally when you took my rom all were set to 4 (max). When I did updates for you I set them back to 0. The Sim data only applies when the computer is playing out of town games or when using a playoff bracket. It is found in the same place. Plus you have the 8 attributes that show on the Ron Barr page but have no impact on the game. I set them all to 0 and put in Starting Line-ups by PRO SET. E. Scratch the Miracles and bring back the SCOUTS!

This is a great rom! And I love the format, it makes playing the computer super challenging. The player ratings are spot on and they play the most like themselves of anything I've seen. Very ingenious way to use weight. Though I can't get used to how big Gretzky looks. I did not realize how much you can notice the size of the players until I played this. Minor trade off for how well it plays. So I played a 7 game series best on best Oilers and Isles using goalies and my restrictions. No dekes or upper rt corner slappers. Oilers swept but the games were all competitive. 3-0, 4-3, 6-4, 5-1. Then I played a series of empty net and got swept. This would also be really fun Head to Head I think. Anyway great job.

NHL 82-83-84 RomB.bin I made some changes to your rom that you might like. Personalized Start up screen. Improved some Banners and made you a Campbell and Wales. Got rid of Double All Star teams. Made it so Playoffs won't freeze up. Updated Ron Barr intro page. Fixed some team names that were to long and screwing up Menu page. Anybody as crazy as you deserves an amazing rom. If you want me to do anything else I can give it a shot. Thought about getting all teams in Alpha order but decided that was more than I want to do. Set all teams Home Ice advantage to 0. Set all teams sim data to 43.

Just called the guy and talked to him. Seems like a great guy. I won't be making this one as cheapest flight I could get was over $600 on such short notice but he was interested in getting us all involved in a future type event like Tecmo has in Madison. Chicago seems like a perfect place Midwest would be around half way for everybody East or West and a passionate sports town. I've never been. Who would be down for a massive event next fall? I'd love to see a Bears and Hawks game and play some 94 LIVE!

WOW! Love this. Would love to see more of this and to play Brutus, Jer33, and JackandJose in person would be the best thing, except maybe a Plabax vs Trudatman game. And of course would love to meet KingRaph and maybe play some darts or table hockey with him. I may check the flights to CHI-town.

I mostly play live in person with people so Kega's problem or whatever is not an issue for me. I also seem to always get strobe light frame skipping effect when playing online with Gens.

I like this idea for using weight/checking/defense as part of the overall rating.

Congrats on another title! Sir Raph. I watched Game 6. I noticed all the goals but one were scored in the same direction. Is this common? Makes Home Ice BIG!

So back to this. Does this not take weight out of the equation and just make it that unknown or perhaps even the checking rating that determines the sucess of a check?

Glad to help. I hope you will share your rom when done. I have some of the banners (Atlanta, San Jose, Anaheim, Tampa, Dallas, Colorado, Florida). You would just need to make a Cleveland, Kansas City and I may have a banner that says Barons.

Yes the wt bug fix is in the rom. The location is around FF40. To change selectable teams to 30 in HEX is 1E. It will show HEX 15 in this rom since I changed it 21 teams. Change all my 15's to 1E's Use the instructions from wboy above. The locations are accurate. The banners for the last 9 teams in the HockeyNight rom are not done. I just put in some random cities so my out of town scoreboard would look better.

HockeyNight.bin Banners can not be edited in the Original rom. You need to use the 30 team rom. Here is a rom I made for 1991 with 21 teams. Banners are all done for you.

You can put any number of teams in you want. I assumed since it was an 83-84 rom you would want 21 teams. That is what my roms from that era have. Are you using the original rom or a 30 team rom as your base?
