  1. What is the error message you get when the game starts? -Evan
  2. You can always play ahead of schedule, play all 3 division games vs an opponent at once, etc. I will have deadlines that certain league games must be finished by. For example, after 1 month into the season.. you must have those 14 games played that were scheduled in month 1. After month 1 of the season, everyone will have at least 14 games played.. and hopefully they were all played out and not forfeited. Make sense? -Evan
  3. Coaches, I just wanted to give you an idea of how the league is shaping up. Currently we have 24 Genesis teams and 22 SNES teams. Registration will end tomorrow night. At this point we will have all teams, coaches in divisions and ready to go. I will be creating the 40 game schedule during this week for each team. Each team will have a teampage where they can see their schedule. You can view a sample one here: http://www.nhl94online.com/html/teampage/gens/new-jersey.asp Coaches will be expected to play 13-14 games a Month. The regular season will carry on for 3 months from the time the season starts. I am hoping to have the season start March 4-5th. It may start a little later depending on if I get everything ready by then. Playoffs will seed similar to the NHL. Top division leaders get 1&2 spots, with the next 6 teams getting spots in order of points for a total of 8 teams per Conference. (8 Wales teams, 8 Campbell teams.) This will happen for both Genesis and SNES. Coaches will also be expected to post all scores from league games here on the forums. I will have a scores area up soon. Feel free to ask any questions. -Evan
  4. I'd be interested in this, but we can PM or email for details. -Evan
  5. You are first on the Genesis list in case we need to replace a coach. -Evan
  6. It's already up there. ZSNES seems to be the emulator of choice, so we'll go with it. -Evan
  7. Your league is very interesting. Reminds me of a season my cousin and I did. We played every game out with every team in a 40 game season with the original nhl94. Our results were similar how the forwards for the most part score goals alot more than get assists. Someone like Sakic having like 48 goals and 8 assists is common in 94. Usually the Centers would be the biggest culprit of that. The defensemen get much less points in proportion to the amount of scoring that goes on in 94. It is interesting to see. And btw, your website is very nice. Do you handle all the php/database work? Looking good. -Evan
  8. I intend to make a section on nhl94.com explaining online play, emulators, ROMS, etc so new guys like you can get started without having to ask alot of questions. About the original NHL94 rom, I have one on nhl94.com at: http://www.nhl94.com/html/multimedia/downloads.asp You'll see the section called "default NHL94.bin file (Genesis)". -Evan PS If anyone wants to help with this nhl94 online info page, reply here with things you'd like to see there.
  9. Hey guys, Yea everyone giving me thier starting lineup is a great idea. There's a new topic that states who has what team. I'm using the name you submitted as your name. It could be your first name, your screen name, your nickname.. but this will be the name I use as your coach name. If you want it changed, just let me know. Yes, the Genesis teams are pretty much all taken.. I doubt anyone will take the remaining 5 teams (though they can if they like). Still have to give it some more time on the SNES league. In the meantime, start playing each other in exhibition games.. especially the new teams so they can work out the kinks. Also, if any 2 coaches want to swap teams.. that's perfectly ok too. And yes, I'm sticking to 1 team per coach this time around. There will not be a draft in this league for players. The idea of having multiples of the same teams is a good idea.. we won't be doing it this time around.. but maybe in the future. -Evan
  10. Please put any ideas, suggestions, comments you have for the nhl94online.com league here. This will help us bring the league to a solid system where we're generally happy with rules, setup, etc. Thanks. -Evan
  11. Hey HABS, Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I just felt that 10 min overtimes were too long, but they usually don't last that long anyway. As you said, most coaches didn't even tie. As of this post, we have 20 Genesis teams and 17 SNES teams. Anyone who hasn't registered can goto nhl94online.com and see which teams are left. If they want to play as one of those teams, why not let them. Could be fun. The season will have roughly the 30 game season again. This seemed like a good amount of games, seeing how it takes on average a month for a coach to play 10 games. The division play will absolutely be more games than the outer division games. Gotta keep it interesting. These seasons are trial and error, eventually we'll have a rock solid system. -Evan
  12. Sorry Mack.. which rules weren't you happy with? They are just about the same as the Fall 2005 league which you were gonna play in. I will have a League Suggestions topic up soon where everyone can comment on the league rules and make suggestions. I'm always open for ideas. This season had to stay pretty simple because we're creating a big league. I can't post this information up until all the registrations are in. I have emailed you which team you got. The Conferences will be broken into divisions similar to how the NHL was in 1993-94. For playoff seeding, the top team of each division makes it as the top "X" seeds, then the next "Y" amount of teams in order of points. I can't give exact info out yet, but once all registrations are in, I can break down the divisions and give everyone the playoff situation. -Evan
  13. Congrats Montreal! Good season to all coaches, went very smooth. -Evan
  14. Yes, this is fine. STL takes on MTL in the finals.. I updated the playoffs page on nhl94online.com too. Good Luck! -Evan
  15. Goals and body checks crank up the crowd.. I'm not sure what my record is but the 140's sounds about a right for a typical 10 minute game. I think I've seen 160 when I pulled the other teams goalie to see how many goals I could score. -Evan
  16. I moved the topic for you. Have you seen the scans that we have here? Artwork & Ads -Evan
  17. I've seen alot of what you've described doing similar tests... I was doing these test to see if I could get anywhere with 4 on 4 hockey. The best was at one point it was 1 on 1 with no goalies or something, and once you score it goes back to 5 on 5 or something. Keep digging... you'll eventually stumble on something.
  18. Hmm... give us some specs here: Which Emulator are you running? You have any other internet issues besides this? Maybe try removing your emulators and reinstalling them or something. Not sure what else to say. -Evan
  19. Hey at one point there was no nhl94.com so I decided that had to change... and here we are..
  20. mymy, If no one replies to your posts for help, don't cancel the project. Maybe just keep it on the backburner.. I could even keep the ROM handy on this website in case someone has time to help in a few weeks. Sound good? -Evan
  21. Yea.. would def be a fun time just playing some '94 with other fans. I'm a really busy person right now but maybe in a couple months we could get together. Would be fun. -Evan
  22. Evan

    Netplay?

Hey, One suggestion I have is try checking or unchecking the option called "Perfect Synchro" under the CPU tab. Sometimes that needs to be on for the game to work. -Evan
  23. Yes... I was aware of this because someone emailed me saying they found this site through wikipedia. It's great that they did that without evening asking. -Evan
  24. Hey Tick, How was someone able to figure this out? Was is luck or did someone actually find a way to change the number of skaters on the ice? I would love to implement a 4 on 4 OT if this is possible. -Evan
