  1. Interesting. Looks pretty sleek and everything.. Not sure there's much of a market for it though.
  2. Happy belated to the real Bob. I actually met him briefly in October at the Sens home opener. They had the current team and a bunch of former players walk down the red carpet before the game giving high fives. I told him we could really use his scoring touch right now and he seemed to appreciate the comment and had a nice chuckle. Unfortunately I had randomly stumbled upon this event when I was picking up tickets at the rink, so I was not prepared and didn't bring my Nhl 94 cartridge for him to sign.
  3. Ya well I'm the only one with all 5 skaters in the top 40 scorers
  4. Turgeon isn't in the top 10... Neely deserves Hart. Highest PPG, more goals than Lindros.
  5. I know what the definition says, and I agree. It's just that, that's not always how it's actually been treated in recent years in the NHL.
  6. Ya I guess that's the classic argument of what the Hart means - most valuable player to your team, or most valuable player in the league.
  7. I would like to take Ottawa, which would free up Chicago.
  8. All of Weinrich's assists were beautiful, skilled plays. The main reason he got so many was that he had the puck a lot. Why? because he was so damn good defensively! Sounds like a Norris winner to me! Also, he had 1.62 ppg is quite a bit better than Iafrate's 1.33 ppg. Also, if goals are so much more important than assists to you, why vote for Lindros over Neely and Selanne? Neely had more goals and a higher ppg. The only reason Neely fell 6 points short of Lindros is the90jacket wouldn't play those last 2 games. (I love how the player stats allows us to debate this kinds of things )
  9. Hey I just realized I beat the champ 5 out of 6 times this year.. why am I so inconsistent.. damn you Houly! Congrats again Bo
  10. OK awesome. I want the SENS!!!!!!
  11. I would be happy with a new draft because I was a replacement coach and didn't get to draft my team, but I realize it's a lot of work for Dan. Another cool option would be a re-draft where you can protect, for example, 2 players on your team (for me it would be neely and modano), and then a snake draft starting with the lowest finishing team to highest for the remaining pool of "free agents". The player retention thing could be for a maximum of maybe 3 seasons per player, ie. I can protect cam neely, but only until season 4, then he goes back in the draft. This would keep coaches from hoarding a top player for too long, but still help you keep a legacy of players from 1 season to the next. I don't really like the mid-season trade idea, because then everyone would have to re-download the rom. I liked the 6 games each - I had no problem playing all my games (except for 2 ), in about 1.5 months. Anyways, excited for SDL season 2.
  12. I'm assuming you can't vote for yourself / your own players? And what about the other awards? Norris, Selke etc.?
  13. Weinrich for Norris! Neely for Hart! Should we put together a list of the top 10 candidates for each non-statistical award and have the coaches vote?
  14. No I did not. I'm not much of a computer whiz, but I'll try looking for a solution online.
  15. That's amazing! I'm going to try installing it tonight.. I'm assuming there are some issues since it's a DOS game ? and I've seen some threads about controller issues.
  16. Wow these playoffs are moving along quite quickly. Does this mean the next SDL season will be started soon? BTW, Dan and everyone did a great job of making this SDL season a lot of fun. I came into it as a replacement coach in January and it was awesome having tons of games to play and the fact that player stats were kept was just unreal!!! Good luck to Tony and Bo in the finals.
  17. All things considered, I don't think team selection is that big of a deal. We all know that there's a lot of damn good teams in this game and it's very likely you'll end up with one of your top picks. I would be happy if I ended up with any of the teams I put in my top 10.
  18. What about Joel Otto? He's pretty awesome in SNES. A solid solid defensive forward that can skate and contribute offensively.
  19. Off-topic, but will there be stats for SNES classic league like what Dan did for the SNES draft league? That was amazing. It makes things so much more interesting!!!
  20. So I'm at my folks place this afternoon bored out of my mind so I decided to have a look in my old bedroom closet and what do I find? No, not nudie magazines! - a CD that says "NHL Hockey". I remember playing this and it was similar to NHL 94 but had more editing capabilities and 4 lines instead of 3, and a ref on the ice that I think you could hit if I remember correctly!! Anyways, the CD says copyright 1996 on it, but I went to install it and it says "NHL Hockey 95" copyright 1994. I remember when I bought it, it came in a gold coloured box titled EA Classics or something like that. Anyways, it turns out it's this game (not my youtube video, but the same game): I remember playing this a lot back in the day and then just kind of forgetting about it after I got into NHL 99, 2000, etc. on PC. I remember editing the Sens lines to include guys like Andreas Dackell, Denny Lambert and Bruce Gardiner! LOL Looking forward to installing it on my PC again.
  21. Sens picked up Ben Bishop for a 2nd round pick. I like this deal. He's one of the best goalies not currently in the NHL. At 25 years old, he still has potential to be a good NHL goalie. He can get some games in now since Anderson's hurt, Auld's playing poorly, and Lehner's just 20 yo. He could be a nice backup to Anderson next year unless Lehner is ready.
