Ah, it is unfortunate that we cannot rely on such stats as GAA. Mine are clearly affected by GDL 2 results, when I entered rehab for an addiction to narcotics and habitual Judge Judy watchings. Take out those statistical outliers.... and I clearly am the most dominating defensive force since 1994, the year of our lord. It is also testimony that I have dealt with the ineptitudes of James Patrick and Gord Murphy to provide my D. Had I Don Sweeney on my roster, then I doubt I would have let up a single goal.

That sounds fine - GDL players can handle GDL events within the league. Other leagues should follow format - Sungod/AJ issue spilled over into Sungod's league as well, so I don't feel it's league independent or something that won't rear it's head again with growth and formation of new leagues.

Issue - league specific commissioners are making biased decisions which do not provide the best experience for nhl94 community members AJ does his job well. However, in a certain situation, it is in the entire league's best interest to outsource this problem. A lot of people are pissed because of what happens, and we'd like to avoid it. If you are satisfied with admins and moderators, then you should consider stepping in. With structure in place, these issues will not arise. AJ does not need replaced, so don't suggest it.

It's done for you... but not for a lot of people. This issue has caused a lot of fervor among GDL, and the decision made by AJ doesn't sit well with people. Sungod isn't speaking because he realizes there is a degree of immaturity to continuing a personal argument on this message board, so he took the high road and stopped. My bottom dollar says he wants to finish the series that he earned the right to play in. A decision making team would have resolved this without issue. Poll GDL members, and ask them if they agree with AJs decision. I don't blame him for anything, but I can see that there is a better way for this type of issue in the future.

I wasn't aware the Sungod/AJ fest was over. It still seems to be going on since the issue isn't resolved, and it has prompted this discussion. Why is this so threatening to you? Do you see a negative side to this you are not revealing to us? The issues that you say last a week or two would be diminished further. I think that is a step forward to a better experience in the nhl94 community. And at the end of the day, it's still video game hockey.

Yes, it is a video game. However, hundreds of bro-sky's with honking testosterone make community issues a problem. Not everyone sees eye to eye... and your third party calm perspective doesn't exist when you are the one involved in a dispute. I imagine this "supreme court" is here only for the extreme situations of dude's getting screwed over (which we have had), and people that are out of control (we've had plenty of that). I think it makes sense. If you can explain why it is overkill to rid this community of nagging issues, let us know.

If we are dealing directly with the GDL league here, sungod kicking anyone out for any reason is irrelevant. It sounds like a real meathead move to me, but it is not in this league. A lot of good points have been raised, as a lot of good ideas. However no action is being taken - no one is in charge except AJ. AJ's decision doesn't sit well with some people, but at the time, he did what he thought was right, and he didn't step outside of any boundaries that were set for him. According to him, sungod's harassment was the reason for him to get kicked out. I agree with this action - we don't need harassing players in the league, although I firsthand haven't been harassed by sungod. I'll believe accounts though until I hear otherwise. AJ shouldn't be punished in any form, including verbal questioning. The way sungod kicked guys out of his league appears to be in a different manner that I don't support at all, but it is irrelevant to this conversation. The problem is this - his personal bias with being in a series with sungod conflicts with his ability to make a decision. Whether or not this specific issue will be addressed, for future potential issues, a tribunal or committee wouldn't be a bad idea. I don't think it should be GDL specific, but rather I think it should be NHL94 community specific. If we all subscribe to the values that Evan sets forth in this community, then any league that is under the NHL94 umbrella should as well. If any issues arise, they should be forwarded to the committee to be evaluated. My question is this: do people agree that a committee should be formed to handle all NHL94 related user issues? If enough people like this idea, we can push for it.

I agree... some jokes aren't really appropriate when the public can view them. Close friends might understand the humor and overlook the potential offensive nature, but you really don't know where people are coming from when viewing this board, and they don't really know you. Just something to think about if you are reading this.

Yea I pretty much am the champ at taking games to OT. I think this speaks on my skills of having no killer instinct, because I rarely win games by more than 1 point. BTW, my dying wish is for the GDL season 5 rom to say "congradulations to champion Hokkee!"

Wow cool... where do you get this statistical information? 10%, that seems to be a pretty precise measurement there. Sarcasm aside.... I think it is laughable to make the assessment that only 1 out of every 10 fans of hockey actually knows what is going on. Who would continue watching a game they don't understand? I think what this boils down to is you feel superior to general hockey fans. Well this really isn't the place to get up on your soap box, because 92.315% of the people that read this board probably "comprehend" just as much about hockey as you do.

That window will close if the GM screws up bigtime. Gonchar - not a free agent, but Brooks Orpik is. Orpik was kind of a let down in the reg season, but really good in the post season. Much better than Hal Gill, who lacks puck control in his own end. Hossa - the only way to keep him is a 1 year contract. The Pens can't keep him long term when Malkin gets his long term contract deal. But hopefully his absence will be made up with the growth of Crosby, Malkin, and Stall. The key player is Ryan Malone. If he commands too much money, he's out... but he'll be hard to replace.

Word. A lot of people are hating on you wags for rooting for the Pens, but how did their teams fare? Let's hope free agency goes well, and look out for the Penguins next year!

I don't think I'm twisting your words here. I read this directly as "I do not care if I win." Though I appreciate you playing games.... and I don't have a problem if you continually lose if you are actually trying to improve yourself... but I do have a problem if you are content with losing, because it is watering down the playing field of the league to have one or two guys rack up 40+ loses. This means the majority of the league will be over .500. Shouldn't anyone who wins over half of their games be labeled a "winner"? Well that doesn't have as much meaning if 18 out of 24 teams are better than .500.

Thanks for the explanation, I learned something new today. But yea... that would be easy to find who scored the GWG. Going off of what you said, smoz, if you have an array for Home Goal Scorers, and one for Away..... then you can reduce the array of the winning team array to the size of the losing team array +1. The last goal scorer in the array is the GWG scorer. Now I know I can program that in something like C or Java..... but I have no clue how the interface works for save state files for a Gens game. Would something like that work?

It is great that you got your games in so quickly....... but if the rest of the season is of little to no consequence to you, then I look forward to running up the score on you. If you take offense to that, then you should change your attitude from "I don't care about how well I play" to "I am going to make an effort to keep getting more wins and getting better at this game"
