well... I think dmitry has commented on this before, that he cannot make trades work unless every single team played the same amount of games. however, being that I despise most of my team as well, I wouldn't mind seeing a little mid-season trade deadline. Make 28 games the mid-season deadline, have an All-star selection for the league(but not game, that's just GAY!), and have guys do a little 1-3 day trading period. Sounds nice. Probably is too hard to actual materialize.

Making terrible attempts of degrading someone else as a comeback isn't what I would call mature. Even if Hokkee wasn't accepted back, you wouldn't have been first in line. Yes. He will. He plays more than you. He enjoys this game more than you do. And we know this through experience... from my experiences reading your posts on the board, you are assuming you were the sole proprietary owner of NHL94, and you are it's king, thus you deserve all rights to be placed in any league you wish, and you will suffer no insolence from us lesser beings. My suggestion to you is to play a lot of the more vocal posters on this board (with politeness and dignity), make a good name for yourself, and you will find perhaps that your name will be ahead of other guys on the list who may not be able to play as much.

my opinion: Don't even use the term "perfect solution" on this message board. It guaruntees an eventual and meaningless debate. With that said, it's a decent idea. But...... it leaves a lot of question marks. How is player personel divied up in two conferences? Each conference has it's own player pool, or only 1 draft for all 30 teams? Is team #17 going to get all pissy because he isn't included in the elite, regardless of his own chances of moving up (remember.... we have a lot of pissy people these days.) Is the B division's only chance of "winning it all" through an end of the year tournament? Will this ruin the legitamacy of a B team champion if the chance arises he wins it all? Any team swapping, bottom 4 of A and top 4 of B switching at a pre-determined date? Is there ever going to be a time when we can stop automatically using male-based pronouns because hot and topless chicks are going to be playing NHL94 and loving us because of our mad skills? Please make reason of this all!

No need to flame on SSiG here guys, he's a good guy. He isn't enjoying the league, so let him step out. It is allowing the opportunity for other guys with interest to participate. Thanks for playing Magus, and if you want a scrimmage, send me an IM.

so.... I really think that for guys that are getting blown out frequently, the solution was in the GENS B league. Unfortunately, that league is on hiatus, and we are only left with a highly competitive draft league. In the draft league, running up scores happens more frequently because of the inclusion of individual statistics. Do I look to see a guy get blown out? No. Do I get pissed off and hate the dude for 10 minutes who did it to me? Yes. Do I think we should add a mercy rule? No. This isn't 2nd grade tee ball, it is a videogame, and it is a league you joined voluntarily. If you want to quit,... then please leave, do not drag it out with drama. I'll encourage guys to stay when they think about quitting, but at some point I'll just give up and say goodbye. Just remember, in the fall, there is a league that will cater to every type of gamer @ nhl94online.com. Until then, play scrimmages against guys of your ability, and get better until you can shove a 10-1 game back in the face of someone. It will feel nice.

no. that is like restricter plate racing in NASCAR. woot woot! Half the fun for some of the coaches is the individual player stats. You don't want to limit that for them. There aren't as many struggling coaches this year as there was last year, and often times blowouts are just the nature of the game. Things hopefully pan out as the season goes on, and tighter games will occur more frequently. there's my two cents

Magus.... if you don't want to get IMs, please sign off, or put up an away message indicating that you are unavailable for NHL94. It is pretentious to think everyone knows your schedule by reading this board or otherwise... and it is also pretentious to think being blocked is some sort of detriment for other guys. I don't mean to sound like an ass (even though it does), but I don't think signing off or away messages are unreasonable if you are actually unavailable for games. Having an IM name just for 94 is always an option. Good luck with the jury duty though, don't pull an OJ.
