The problem with this is, people like me and I would venture to say most others, wouldn't be able to commit to traveling to a different city to play NHL '94. Firstly, there's significant cost to all involved. Secondly, scheduling for something like that would be incredibly difficult. Even if people were willing to put up the money to pay to travel, good luck getting the best together on the same weekend of the year. Thirdly, our wives, girlfriends, and bosses, would likely not allow that to happen, at least I know mine wouldn't. I believe we can do this online and should, as it makes it much easier for everyone who is interested, particularly since our community spans accross the globe. I think we could spam enough of the internet to get anyone who would see themselves as a contender to play. This is what makes it a world championship, not an NHL94.com tournament. There's no doubt in my mind that most from this site will easily dispose of an outside contender in a matchup, but that's what makes this fun. We get to prove how awesome we are at this game as a collective group and give those who've always seen themselves as being "dominant players" against their friends a nice dose of reality I'm sure we could get Puckdaddy from Yahoo or someone else interested in this kind of stuff to get the word out. Who knows, maybe we could get John Buccigross to get the word out, via twitter or an online column. It wouldn't surprise me a bit, especially with the popularity of Clockwise's newer hacks.

Looking at league results over the past couple of years, it’s very clear that Carse is probably the best NHL ’94 player in the world. That said, in the other major sports (since NHL ’94 is now considered one of the big five, along with Football, Baseball, Basketball, and Hockey), you don’t crown a champion based on past results, which is why I propose an official NHL ‘94 World Championship. In this championship, we could probably have a 32 or 64 player format, including qualifying rounds, pool play, and medal play. Sounds like a pretty sweet idea to me, but I want to gauge interest around the community to see if we could get people interested. If so, I would be willing to put it together. We could base it off of smoz’s IIHF-style rankings from leagues in the past few years and use that to start a list of players interested in competing or we could spread the word at other places like TBN, Facebook, Twitter, your grandmother's bible study group, etc. and have it be an actual NHL '94 World Championship, not just the NHL94.com World Championship. Post in this thread if: A. You’re interested. B. You have anything useful to add.

it's funny you say that, because i had a different problem with the patch yesterday. my shoulder color defaults to the grey that should be used for the skate blades. i've worked around it by making the skate blade the color i want the shoulder to be, which makes skate boots all black in the game. not sure why this is happening, but i've had this issue with every rom i've tried the patch on.

undnerstood, just seemed like a bit of a calling-out. anyway, like OB said in the other thread, the time of year is definitely tough for a lot of guys to find time to play. i'm sure it will pick up, especially with the blitz reg. season being done or almost done for everyone.

yes. few nights ago. i didn't say anything, because i'm so used to it. dc's comment triggered me, so i said it.

Same thing with me. He quit after two periods in our final game with me up by three, so I had to upload a 2 period game...In the rest of the games, he quit playing D or moved his goalie out of the net when I got up by two or three. This has been going on for over two years...totally ridiculous.

Redrawn skater sprites and overhauled goalie sprites for more accurate uniforms. Separate color swatches for helmets and sleeve piping. Stick tape and ’94 LASIK correction. Updated faceoff window that’s been adapted to reflect the new uniforms. New bench-area sprites. Notes The patch was designed for use with Wboy’s 30 team mod. It may be compatible with the original game, but it hasn’t been tested, and I would expect to encounter some problems with the faceoff window; there may be some oddities. The current NHL crease with trapezoid will be added when this patch is applied.. So make sure you do any crease editing after applying the patch. Sorry if you already did.. Also, the trapezoid is very easy to remove in Tile Layer Pro, and the tiles are easy to find since they’re the only angular goal lines in the rink. Just brush over them with the ice hue.Some additional .bmp files are required to see the uniforms properly in NOSE. All you have to do is overwrite the old ones in the directory with the new ones supplied in the .zip file. Instructions are in there, too.

hey guys, i can't believe i have to do this, but i'll have to reschedule. i forgot my personal computer at work (50 miles away) and therefore, cannot play any games tonight. i can play tomorrow night (probably 8 games) and thursday night (12 games). hopefully i'll be able to play friday night, too. i'm very sorry to those of you were counting on me being available tonight. i'll try to make up for it by being extremely accessible over the next 5 days.

Hey guys, I'm done working on the road, which means I have decent internet and some (limited) time to play. Played 4 games so far tonight with my stupid 360 joystick controller. Apparently I was too rough on my old genesis controllers. Maybe that's why I took almost 6 months off. Anyway, good to be back. Come play me and help me catch up.
