  1. Ah, it finally makes sense.. And I agree, that picture is WAY too big for a sig pic.
  2. Firefox plugin that uncensors words: http://www.ironicsans.com/2007/04/idea_unc...e_internet.html (near the bottom of the article, "standalone plug-in" link)
  3. Options -> Directories To find where they are saving, do File->"Load State..." -- it'll bring up a file selection window in the same directory it saves to
  4. http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2007/04...nce-planet.html (emphasis added by me)
  5. The planet is 20.5 light years away, has a mass about 5 times that of the Earth (one of the smallest extra-solar planets discovered so far), has a diameter diameter not too much bigger than the Earth maybe 1.5 times, and has an average temperature somewhere between 0ºC and 40ºC (32F to (guessing) ~120F). I haven't heard anything about water on the planet, but I suppose it's a possibility.
  6. I'm am pretty sure the Checking rating is for AI. It represents how frequently an AI player will check. If you play against Boston, watch Ray Bourque (99 checking rating). He will destroy your guys repeatedly, even when they don't have the puck.
  7. I recently retired my Sega Genesis console, but I never noticed a difference between the emulated game and the console game. The reason people put bure, selanne, fleury, etc at centre is because they are better scorers and are harder to body check. The checking is based one weight: the lower the weight of the player, the harder they are the knock over, and the better they are at checking other players.
  8. When a goalie scores, the game gives him an extra goal against and an extra shot against, which is why the goal doesnt' show up in the goalie's stats. It's a bug.
  9. I think I've seen this before a few times.. quite a while ago, though
  10. Try this (see attached picture)
  11. Click the text at the top: "remember that feeling? click to enter" Or go here: http://www.macks-hacks.com/home.htm
  12. If your video is AVI, you can fix the sound in Virtualdub (http://virtualdub.org) (From memory, could be a bit off:) In the Sound menu, go to Streams to bring up the sound streams window. Right-click the sound stream and select "interleaving". In the interleaving window, set the sound delay offset (or something like that) to some number of milliseconds to try to get the sound to synch up. I think you need a value of around -5000ms (i think negative makes the sound earlier).
  13. No, you need Emulator software on your computer. The following thread will tell you how to play: http://nhl94.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3242
  14. I don't think we need a mercy rule, but let's try to keep the goals to under 10, guys.. It's just embarassing getting whooped by 10+ goals. I think we should consider pumping up the goalies for the next season. Most of them are just brutal, and I think the league would be more competitive with more goalies in the "all star" 75-90 range.
  15. I don't bother with static IP. I just check my IP (start->run->"cmd"->"ipconfig") and then set up port forwarding in my router to that IP. My IP address on my LAN rarely changes, so this works fine for me, without static IP.
  16. You should be able to play using this emu against someone running gens 2.11 or gens-netplay. Not sure what the 'old one' is..
  17. By special demand, I bring you Gens+ with saving during netplay allowed. As Scribe99 says, it's compatible with gens 2.11 and gens-netplaysave on kaillera, so can be used in the league with no problems. See attached file for the new EXE file. If you already have Gens+ If you already have gens+, then unzip the EXE file to the same directory as gens+.exe. The new version is called gens+netplaysave.exe -- be sure to update your shortcut if you you have one. By placing the new version in with the old version, you shouldn't need to set up your controller again. If you don't already have Gens+ If you don't have Gens+, then download "Gens+ v0.0.9.61" from http://www.retrobase.net/gensplus/ and unzip it somewhere. You need this for all the supporting files, such as the Kaillera DLL. Then, unzip the new EXE file to the same directory as gens+.exe. Run the new version of the EXE instead of the old one -- the new one is called gens+netplaysave.exe. IMPORTANT NOTE: Gens+ compresses save states by default. That screws up the uploading of save states in the league. You need to disable this feature by going Options->Configuration->uncheck "Compress Save States." While you're in there, also uncheck "Add states files preview shot" -- this makes the save a little smaller by not including a screenshot inside the save. . gens_netplaysave.zip
  18. it's a little early to be kicking guys out just yet, i think

    Open With

I'd love it if nose had the ability to be used in the Open With dialog. I.e., I want to be able to right-click a file in XP, go to "open with", add NOSE, and have it actually open the ROM on loading. I'm not sure how to do that in VB, though.. You need to grab the parameter list the application is loaded with (like the argv[] array in C++).
  20. I thought one game per day would be pretty tough to keep up with, but it actually does feel pretty slow right now. However, I think this setup will make things feel more active later on in the season and will create better tension going into the playoffs (think of the Leafs/Habs/Isles(curse them) thing that just happened in the NHL). I know some people don't care about the regular season and just want to get to the playoffs.. but I like the regular season. This will also prevent people from saying "half the guys are done, let's just kick the other half out and start the playoffs already!" Also, releasing games slowly like this reduces annoyances to the guys who don't have the time or inclination to play much, so I think it's good the way it is. All frustrations just get funneled onto our benevolent and wise dictator King Donny, who I hope doesn't mind the unavoidable criticisms and demands that come with running a league. Besides, you can always just play someone now and save the savestates for later if you're that gung-ho.
  21. cool might want to reconsider the white ice, though.. it hurts. try a light blue?
  22. Are you exceeding your bandwidth limit on your current host, or what? I'm not trying to complain or be argumentative. I was "just saying" (and am now "just asking"). What we don't understand is why there is a site, but we're not allowed in.
  23. Actually.. yeah, it'd be nice to be able to see what's there.. I'm not sure why the site 'closes' -- the NHL94online site isn't closed, and they're redoing it right now.. http://www.nhl94online.com/index.php http://www.nhl94online.com/index2007.php
