  1. I hate carpet. Nasty. It is a narrow room, converted 3 car garage to a 2 car garage to get this room. So it is narrow. Agree. Screens are not big. 19" CRT, 24" CRT, and 28" LCD Most of the time when it is just myself and my loyal Border Collie, Hope, this is what the seating looks like. When I have an Event, I will transform the room with seating for each venue. I'll take some pics of the event on June 20 and post what it looks like then. Thanks, I wish you could all come over and play. Well at least AJ will be here to school me up. Here is the Front Yard. I am loving all the attention that LIVE Tournaments are getting. The other thing that drove me to do this was the fact that I am again without a PC. Only my 15 year old Mac for a computer, so for now I am incapable of online gaming. Playing the games (92,93,94, TSB, RBI) on the old CRT TV's and Original Consoles has really made me appreciate them. It really is a different feel. I found this on wikipedia and was unaware of the advantages of the old tv's. CRTs are still popular in the printing and broadcasting industries as well as in the professional video, photography, and graphics fields due to their greater color fidelity, contrast, and better viewing from off-axis (wider viewing angle). CRTs also still find adherents in vintage video gaming because of their higher resolution per initial cost, lowest possible input lag, fast response time, and multiple native resolutions such as 576p.[citation needed] Many retro gamers also prefer to use older CRTs with lower resolutions and scan rates due to the distinct scan line effect created when displaying the 240p analog signal generated by most retro consoles.
  2. Building Lines with AJ and KingRaph's Team rankings have been an awesome resource. I am using match-up cards for our Live event on June 20 using these rankings, but I wanted to get some community input on them. I am using a modification of one guy calling the match-up and the other guy getting to pick the team. The players draw a card of a "FAIR" match-up and then flip a coin for choice of teams. You can find my "FAIR" match-ups here. www.nhl92.com
  3. Live NHL 94 Tourney finally a reality and my tickets to Toronto purchased. Retrothon Eight scheduled at my place on June 20. www.nhl92.com AngryJay93 is participating. It was time to build the game room I had thought about for a number of years. Sony Stadium Vizio Gardens Phillips Arena
  4. It would be great if we could get some kind of group rate all at the same Hotel, close to the Venue.
  5. I surrender Plabax. Should have never gotten drug into this. Somewhere In Ghana there is a guy who can outrun Usain Bolt but either does not have the money or ability to get to the Olympics. So Usain Bolt will be crowned the Fastest Man in the World. I do really wish you and trudatman would be there.
  6. yes, and Usain Bolt would beat every Decathlete in the 100, but he could not win the Decathlon. And the winner of the Decathlon is considered the Greatest Athlete in the World. The Winner of this Tournament will be the King of 94!
  7. Here is another thought. You've got 3 months to practice on the other console. So if you want to be King win your console and start practicing to win the other one. Can't be done? OK neither could another Triple Crown. And if I got a horse that can beat American Pharoah it does not mean American Pharoah isn't the best or take away from his Triple Crown. It just means that my horse did not run. Ping Pong and Tennis is a poor comparison and if they had a dual title for that it would be valid. And if it was the biggest best title, you better believe Roger Federer would be working with a small paddle too. In Triathlon you don't get the best swimmer, runner, or biker. You get the best Triathlete. In Decathlon you don't get the best at any of the events. You get the Greatest Athlete in the World. I believe that KingRaph or AngryJay could win both if they practiced and played SNES enough. Probaby some guys on SNES who could do the same. I also think 1 game on each system with the best plus/minus is the answer. If it is tied play 2 more. THIS IS THE TOURNEY! These are the Rules! NHL Players. Downtown Toronto. EA guys. A Movie being made. Again I am thrilled to be a part of it and ever grateful to Mikey and Halifax for putting it on.
  8. Good Idea, but could still turn out tied. One game playoff of NHL 92 if still tied.
  9. Do we know the actual exact location? Because.... I am flying to Buffalo on Thursday the 10th and plan to be in Toronto, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.
  10. To Halifax and Mikey, Great job. This is going to be awesome! Gonna have to be Ducks as the opinions will be coming your way. Opinions and A--holes. Everyone coming to Toronto should read what Segathon posted and I reposted below. Everyone not coming should read it twice. And if you want the Cliff Notes, just read this part. Don't be a jerk! 11. Yes. ^^^^ Also would be cool to see a list of signed up players. Is Plabax coming? How about Tru or Trudatman? They gotta be the 2 most wanted to see in person.
  12. I'm In! Flying to Buffalo on Thursday and driving up. Count me in on any pre-tourney activities. Live 2v2 etc.....
  13. x2 on the Slapshot roms they are great. Plus here are 2 more even earlier roms I made. 1967 http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php/topic/16814-nhl-67/ 1952 http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php/topic/16775-coachmacs-historic-roms/
  14. NHLPA 93 was for the beginning of the 1993 Season. No Stats for 1993 are available at the beginning of the season. In those days many of the Free Agency moves from the summer could not be included. In NHL Hockey (92) Messier is still an Oiler for this reason. The roster for (92) was finished in May before the Sharks had the dispersal draft, hence they are completely fictional, by the time 93 and 94 came around the expansion draft was included so the Lightning, Sens, Panthers, and Ducks rosters show the players selected. NHL 16 will be for the beginning of the 2016 Season. Now a days we can react much quicker and I believe they post roster updates often for the new systems. Naples and Skip do it for 94.
  15. I have been experimenting with 92. So I did a little statistical analysis of the default line ups in NHL 92. Weight, Speed, and Shot Power seem to be all that really matters. I just used Weight, Speed, and Shot Power hex values of 0-15. The 3 attributes were weighted equally. Penguins 40-66-60-------------166 Rangers 28-59-61--------------148 Bruins 32-60-51-----------------143 Flames 22-63-57----------------142 Kings 27-54-60------------------141 BlackHawks 20-63-57-----------140 Blues 29-54-57-------------------140 Penguins (L2) 31-51-57--------139 The Penguins are ridiculously loaded in this game. Oilers 40-50-46-------------------136 Jets 30-50-50--------------------130 Flyers 33-49-40------------------122 Sabres 35-37-49-----------------121 Capitals 33-52-34----------------119 Maple Leafs 31-47-41-----------119 Whalers 29-49-40----------------118 Canadiens 11-60-45-------------116 AJ's Line up with Richer inserted for Corson raises the Habs 20 points to 136. Islanders 29-49-38---------------116 Devils 32-37-44-------------------113 North Stars 27-39-39------------105 Canucks 27-44-29----------------100 Red Wings 22-35-40--------------97 Nordiques 27-23-38---------------88 Sharks 29-35-23-------------------87
  16. My favorite. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php/topic/15411-92-in-93/
  17. I had this issue with my Original 6 limited roster roms. I fixed it by using the max players (26) on every team. (filled extra slots with drones) Also make sure that the forwards and defensemen are set properly. I believe it is 15 forwards, 8 defense, and 3 goalies. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php/topic/16814-nhl-67/ This solved the problem for me. When cycling through it looks for top forwards, top d, and goalies. When you limit rosters to say 10 skaters and 2 goalies it can't find the defensemen. I would think GDL and Blitz roms would have this issue but I don't know.
  18. Luckily I have a bunch of these I can bring.
  19. Thank the heavens for OTL Points! Fun but frustrating trying to find people to play. Good Luck in the Playoffs!
  20. Exactly, why I would contact them and get their advice. 11 years, 256 competitors, NFL Films documentary AND a game that takes a bit longer to complete makes it all the more impressive.
  21. True, I should have defined a bit longer better. I would say you are right on with these times. Also both games can take much longer if people tinker with Playbooks, Lines, Player condition etc... Yes.
