  1. LOL! That totally messed me up for a second. I didn't expect that change to happen that fast. If people like it the other way, I'm cool with that as well. But thanks Evan for the quick response!
  2. I know this is a little out of place in the Welcome area but I am just following Jesus here... is there a way to view the posts from most recent to oldest within a thread when you first click on it? Minor thing I know, if there's no way, it's no problem.
  3. Hey Pill, saw that you tried to contact me about a 1/2 hour ago but you're not on anymore. I actually have a lot of work tonight but maybe tomorrow evening? Let me know. Hope all is well.
  4. Man Clockwise, I didn't even notice you put this on here last week. Love it, thanks a lot my man!
  5. Hey Pill, I saw you were on the forum today, don't know if you saw my response to your thread but I have some time to play our series this weekend. Lets do this my man. Let me know what time works for you. Sunday would be best for me. Are you still having lag issues?
  6. I think you play me. Someone want to confirm that? Pill, are you going to have time to do it this weekend? I want to knock this out. Did you guys work out the lag issues in your series?
  7. Yeah, well lets put it this way... it's like adding a whip cream topping to a pile of steaming sh*t. Doesn't matter how you try to dress it up, it's still sh*t.
  8. Just don't tap into the mortgage payment, ok ya wiley bastard? ;-)
  9. We actually exchanged pics the other night... I wouldn't worry about about class and culture with this girl... she more resembles Bobby Orr on a bad hair day. OK, just messing around, obviously that didn't happen. Sorry Hgirl, just trying to burst Addison's bubble. lol
  10. Uhhh, what's a series? I remember way back when I was in a league on nhl94.com but my memory gets fuzzy around the playoffs, almost like they didn't happen. Just messin' around guys. I hope you guys were able to resolve the lag issue before you finished up. Regardless, nice nail biter. Though, I think I'll wait about 3 months before contacting Kings. So do I play Toronto then?
  11. You have to be kidding. You feel that Gens players are "bullying" the SNES guys so much so that it has resulted in a lack of interest from potential SNES players??? Maybe I just need to take a Sensitivity Training Course (Evan, would you care to add a link on this site for that as well?) but that reasoning doesn't make any sense to me. What fun would it be if we didn't debate our preferred system from every so often? Who else could we share that with who would actually care outside of this site? The Gens and SNES guys have their debates from time to time but why would that scare anyone off? Besides, the door swings both ways with the jabs that are thrown on the forum. Above all and most importantly, there is a common understanding with everyone that makes up this community regardless of the systerm you play... one of the SNES guys (I believe it's Jeff) has said it best a couple times after he's finished making his point in response to one of those Gens/SNES debate threads... "But respect that it's still 94". I think it's a great way to ground everything b/c as heated as it sometimes gets on the forum, that point is something we can all agree with.
  12. Jeff, the 2on2 league that was going on did consist of just the 6 guys on the ice at the same time. It's a very fun dynamic. We actually played with offsides off. You would think that it would be easy to cherry pick but it's really not. It's difficult especially b/c the screen stays where the puck is. As soon as your guy moves off the screen, he's in no man's land. Moreover, passing with a human controlled teammate is a feat in itself so it's better %s to keep him closer. Also long passes are pretty easy to intercept. With speed bursts, you can usually get to them. I actually like the option to cherry pick if you want to though. You have to keep the other team guessing and switch up your strategy once in awhile. There are reserves on the bench if someone were to get hurt. Penalties are turned off b/c there are only a couple reserves. Also, to even the playing field, all the players are rated the same by position. That is, all the Centers have the same ratings, as do all the Left Wings and the Goalies. But going back to the original discussion, I would prefer to play with offsides off (b/c the AI doesn't adjust well in the Gens version)... but I don't think having offsides on or off is better or worse, it's just a different game.
  13. Is anyone else thinking Snoboarder's got a live one on his hook? REEL EM IN CARSE! Stan, you'll come to learn that Carse enjoys nothing more than getting a rise out of someone who's willing to get upset.
  14. Case, I'm in no way speaking for Evan by any means, I just wanted to provide my input to your concern. I do agree with you that SNES is under represented on this site. At the same time, the Gens version simply receives more attention b/c there are a greater number of people who are producing roms, hacks and taking a more active role in generating leagues for Gens. I think that is due to the sheer numbers of Gens players vs SNES players in this community. Gens coaches are in the fortunate position of having guys like Dmitri, Mack, Jesus (clockwise) and a number of others who are manipulating the game for the purpose of generating leagues and further interest. The Genesis Draft League is a great example of a league that took off and Evan showed his appreciation by linking it up with this site. I have no doubt that if this were the case with a SNES satellite league that had a strong following, Evan would incorporate it in the same way. Even though I am not a SNES player, this is a community for all NHL94 players and I like the fact that we represent both versions on this site. Evan doesn't even play in the SNES league and yet, he is the admin for the Gens and SNES spring/fall leagues. I can't imagine the time it takes to devote to both. Evan can only do so much as the admin for this site but it takes the efforts of the people here to help us get to the next level. Is there anyone on the SNES end that has played around with developing an editor like Old Skool? That would be amazing if there was. I think that program alone (especially b/c it's so user friendly) has provided the Gens players with a tool where they can raise further interest with all sorts of modified roms. Just keep in mind that there is no equivalent of Evan for even the Gens side here. He is the admin of this site. He coordinates the operations and his leagues. The rest is what everyone else decides to contribute no matter which system you prefer.
  15. I should probably add this to the commandments of NHL94 thread... but since I'm here, please don't forget one of the most important rules.... Thou shalt not speak poorly of Hokkee. (Remember, his powers are matched only by those of Chuck Norris)
  16. Hmmmm.... my cartridge is so senstive that always works whether i like it or not. Wish I had something more to offer you here but I really don't.
  17. I didn't notice at first he's the one running the poll... hokkee, you cease to amuse me once again. lol
  18. Hokkee, i understand your frustration of you wanting things to move along, believe me, so do I. I'm sure D is aware that a deadline needs to be put in place. Whether he decides to reach out to us for an opinion or sets one on his own is solely up to him. The reality is this is all our faults (especially if you played in GDL last season) b/c we knew this was going to be an issue come playoff time. Is anyone really surprised? So lets get some ideas out there so that this doesn't happen in the future. For right now, we just have to deal with it and hope things pick up or until D posts something official out on the forum.
  19. Oh Wags, you missed the good 'ole days of Ahola. That guy was a madman. At first, I couldn't stand the guy, but now I think he's an evil genius. If you look at the date, that thread was actually pretty old, right around the time when I first joined the community. Ahola disappeared from the site one day but I'm thinking he may gotten his posting priveleges revoked by the admins. If not, he probably mouthed off to the wrong guy... or was mortally wonded trying to copy a Dudeson stunt.
  20. 8. Don't skip the hot/cold lists before the game. 9. Don't worry if you can't understand Carse's posts, nobody does. 10. Once you agree to the terms of this league and join the community, please know that your first born child must work with Hokkeefan as a lumberjack between the ages of 12 and 18. Don't worry, NHL94.com will provide therapy upon he/she's return to your family.
  21. Pass what torch??? Hokkee, seriously chill out, everyone knows your stance on here. And in case anyone forgets, you post a reminder about every 1/2 hour. This is to everyone: All I've heard is whining. Yes, I wish they would play their games, they know they have to play their games, they are trying to play their games, this is tough on everyone, but is anyone's bitching going to make them go any faster? I doubt it. So instead of complaining about the current situation, why don't you try to offer an alternative so that this doesn't happen going forward. Hurray and some others mentioned this last season, we didn't learn from our mistake by setting a deadline and here we are again. So how about adding something constructive? If all you have to do is whine about the current state of the playoffs, go cry to your mom but don't post it on here.
  22. Next season, I propose that we coordinate the playoffs to start and finish over the period of 2 weekends. The Saturday (or agreed upon day of that weekend) after the official season is determined over, all coaches should be online at a designated time to play out Rounds 1 and 2. The following Saturday (or agreed upon day of that weekend), the remaining coaches should be online to play out the semi-finals and finals. My biggest problem with playing these playoffs games the way it's going is that there's so much time b/w games or rounds, as I'm sure all of you would agree. The fact of the matter is I really don't feel that I'm playing at the level that I was playing at during the season. And unless we have deadlines, this is how the playoffs are going to go season after season. Any thoughts, feedback, comments, etc to this plan?
  23. If you want to delete all the names and start fresh, just pull the cartridge out while it's turned on. Or tap the cartridge while it's ed on until it freezes. I know, not very scientific but it works.
  24. OK Wags, as much as you know I hate to admit this, that was a pretty cool factoid from A Day in the Life of Wags.
  25. Wags, haven't you learned your lesson about trash talking yet? I thought those beat downs you endured in the GDL would have humbled you. I guess ignorance is bliss. Habs, I think you know what we have to do here.
