I successfully set up the Sega CD ROM today but there is no music. I did download the tracks from NHL94.com. I know most of you are probably cringing just reading this heading as it was a 'fun' process of getting it to work to begin with. All I want to know is if it's possible to get the music working with the ROM. I've been unsuccessful in doing so this afternoon. If it's not, I will just play the game as is. If it is possible I will continue my efforts. Any advice is also welcomed.

I'm new to this forum and would love to attend a live tournament if life ever returns to somewhat normal. I live in New England so I'd probably only be willing to travel to the NYC or maybe a Montreal tournament(although I've never been to Canada) since they're both within a reasonable driving distance. I don't travel much LOL. Is the NYC tournament strictly for Gens or both? I play mostly SNES but will play Gens if it's the only option. I would agree with having different divisions(A, B, C) so people aren't deterred after getting smoked by an A player in a tournament and never returning due to costs of travel. Having lanyards or name tags with Discord and real names could be helpful and maybe even break the ice for some of the shyer people. It seems like it would be worth the trip for me personally even if I get tossed out of the tournament early so I could meet some new people. Whether it's the first time meeting someone after playing against them online or just meeting them for the first time regardless it would be cool. I'm hoping a tournament eventually comes to Boston but who knows. I'm too disorganized to host one myself. I can barely plan a family BBQ. LOL

What’s everyone using for controllers? I was originally using the ibuffalo snes controller for both gens and snes but my left thumb was killing me from pushing the d pad down too hard lol. I started using an Xbox one controller the other day with the joystick and it feels a lot better. Curious to see what others are using.

Hi @chaos you mentioned the SNES ROM Editor by Statto but I haven't been able to find one that works with Windows 10. I've been looking for the past week but only found one from 2010 I believe and it did not open on my computer after installation. Am I doing something wrong or just not using the correct ROM Editor? Btw the Roster Import Tool is AWESOME! Thank you for that!

Same thing happened with me the other day. However I just sorted by Abv(Team Abbreviation) and it worked fine. Otherwise if you just start editing the raw export file(.csv) and try to import into the ROM it will not work.

I too was 6 in 93 so I vaguely remember it other than my family going nuts. I knew about the Quebec and Nordiques stuff but not about his Irish ancestry. I still remember him as a rookie in a NESN commercial with Andrew Raycroft driving a zamboni across the Zakim bridge(bridge next to the Garden) and one of them saying 'are you even old enough to drive?' hahaha. Bergie and his frosted tips. Krejci same thing a few years later. Yikes....

It's only a matter of time before the Habs bounce back to being a contender. Stay patient. It was rough for Bostonwith the Canadiens winning in 93 especially after the B's having lost the 88 and 90 Stanley Cups against the Oilers. The Bruins were pretty good in the early 90s then Neely went down, Oates left town, and it was all blown up. Bergie is the man. If he was on the Habs I would still love him. Class act all the way. I grew up watching the Bruins and Red Wings(as my Western team) but now they're in the same division. I haven't paid as much attention to the Wings because they have sucked for a few years now.

LMAO I love the rivalry and I'm not dumb to discredit their fantastic history. I definitely have a respected resentment to them.

This might be a dumb question but do the additional 3 buttons on a 6-button Gens controller have any functionality? I never owned a 6-button controller as a kid and I haven't found anything online about the additional 3 buttons being used in Nhl 94.

I've been lurking for about 8 years or so for roster updates(thank you) but the SoChel tourney finally pushed me to join. I joined the SNES SoChel tournament and mostly play SNES. However I will play either version of the game. I grew up on Gens NHLPA 93 and SNES NHL 94 as those were the carts my parents bought me and brothers. I quickly dabbled into @chaos roster tool yesterday and swapped out Rick Tocchet from ASE to myself. Obviously I made myself 100 overall. I showed my wife in the game and she just laughed in pity haha. The only thing is if I go into Player Stats mid-game it freezes. I must be missing something and will need to research more when I'm not running around chasing my kid or changing his diapers. I hope to eventually create an all-time Bruins roster and maybe Detroit as a rival because the Habs don't deserve my time. Anyways, this is an incredible community and I've been scouring the forums the past two weeks finding all kinds of stuff. Hopefully I can bring something to the party other than laughs.

Are there any numbers on GEN vs. SNES in the signups? Curious to see if more SNES players are coming out of the woodwork as the site is more catered toward SNES in terms of ROMs and leagues.
